Everyone needs a DMC in their lives regina

Everyone. 😍

I’m about to treat myself to the one with the tattoo gun.

The woman is a legend 🥰

IcedPurple · 07/07/2021 23:47

@MarshaBradyo

Iced totally. I’ve been to Copenhagen a few times and thought exactly the same. The women too - just generally in objective way
Yeah, the Swedes get all the hype about being hotties but the Danes are the real lookers in Scandinavia I reckon. Certainly the men. And so tall!
MrsGulDukat · 07/07/2021 23:55

I think I prefer a Dutchman.

Frank de Boer is still gorgeous.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 08/07/2021 00:09

Is it just me who quite fancies Harry Maguire? My preferences do tend to lie with bastards who are a little rough round the edges Grin

My teenage nieces are obsessed with Jack Grealish. Makes me feel old, plaits on men just don't do it for me

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 08/07/2021 00:12

@LizzieSiddal

I can’t believe people are saying the win was down to luck! England had the ball for more than half the game, Denmark’s defence was brilliant but they had barley any shots at the goal.

(I don’t know much about football, but that was my observation of this game)

I agree, they're a strong team and possession in the second half of extra time was incredible. They communicate so well, and some (Sterling) are so ruddy fast and never seem to slow down. Remarkable sportsmen.

I think this squad also defy the stereotypes of footballers being diving big girls blouses. I wonder if Southgate has clamped down on it, they've played very clean this tournament. I though a few of the Danes played dirty

MrsGulDukat · 08/07/2021 00:16

@FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop

I'm with your nieces. I love Mr Hairband.

GrealishHairband · 08/07/2021 00:40

I’m still in shock.

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 08/07/2021 00:44

@GrealishHairband me too.

I let DD stay up to watch it with me as she's now off school. I tried to explain how the magnitude of what this meant and how she's witnessing sporting history, and she may never see this again. I was quite emotional, lifelong footie fan - ode to my dad who took me to all the Leeds Utd matches as a kid...how he'd be overjoyed at them reaching the Premier League once again and his country making the Euro finals, sadly he's no longer here to have witnessed either event - so was getting quite teary and rambling on in shock and DD was a bit Confused. I'm just gobsmacked

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 08/07/2021 01:14

I've just got back from dropping off DS2& mates at another friend's house.

we drove past Luke Shaw's dad's house.
should I drop off a thank you card?
🤣

Ha, I’ll be right by Southgate’s house this weekend and wondered the same Grin
ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 08/07/2021 01:42

@SecretKeeper1

I think we should. will wait until next week...

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 08/07/2021 01:53

I live not too far from Gareth Southgate apparently, he's supposedly in some fancy Grade I listed palace, i will think about a thank you card 😂

Meltinthemiddle · 08/07/2021 07:28

I quite fancy Southgate. He's definitely grown into his looks as he's got older! @FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop I'm with you on Maguire not sure what it is though and probably old enough to be his mother 🙈

I more that quite fancy Southgate, it's the calm self assurance more than anything. Sterling was looking particularly gorgeous in his interview.

Someone upthread said it is the first match without celebrities and I agree, there wasn't the selfish look at me behaviour they played as a team.

As for the penalty yes it was a bit soft, and another example that I had to explain to my children. When watching England soft results do not go in our favour!
Kane going down in the box looked more like a pen.

MrsGulDukat · 08/07/2021 08:03

Theres a lot of training videos and stuff on YouTube.

All of them just seem like they are playing footie with their mates. A lot of good natured bantering and fun.

It's nice to see an England team that actually gets on and works together.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 08/07/2021 08:19

Why are idiots still shouting... it’s doing my head in?

There’s a row of houses opposite us and they are all air b&b, youth hostel type accommodation. They seem to be packed with English folk partying since lockdown eased - and last night (to now) was pretty loud.

I have to admire their stamina though.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 08/07/2021 08:40

I was yelling so much during the game today my voice sounds like I'm in a flooded sewer 🤣

the80sweregreat · 08/07/2021 08:47

Stirling is funny in interviews! So calm and a bit ' yeah , what's the fuss ?' 😀

His house ( mansion ) is lovely. It was featured in the daily Mail yesterday where they know all the values of property! He seems a very grounded person. Nice wife , none of the usual footballer horror stories! Wears a rainmac !!
the80sweregreat · 08/07/2021 09:00

Why have they adopted ' sweet Caroline' ( sung by an American artist) as a football anthem ?
I'm baffled by that one.

MrsGulDukat · 08/07/2021 09:01

@the80sweregreat

Dunno. Maybe it's because it sounds so good when sung by the masses.

DuncinToffee · 08/07/2021 09:15

It is being used in one of the football adverts

VerticalHorizon · 08/07/2021 09:15

It has become a bit of a theme at many sporting events in the last 5 years or so... boxing and cricket too.

I thing it is just a general feel good song that has caught on. A bit like Amarillo did a while back.

the80sweregreat · 08/07/2021 09:18

I've always disliked that song , but I can see why it's a good one to sing en masse.

AndNobbyDancing · 08/07/2021 09:21

'Where it began, I can't begin to knowing
But then I know it's growing strong'

'Good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined
To believe they never would'

Above lyrics easily transfer to sport, my kids teams have been chanting this song for years, easy to sing, easy words sounds great en mass.
