Can't see a thread on this ....

Any rugby lovers here? Not many of my girlfriends share my love of rugby.

France/Argentina - cracking close match.

Japan/Russia - glad the home team won.

Australia/Fiji fantastic first half.

And now the All Blacks v Springboks - can't wait ....

There was a yellow that was missed, but apart from that it was reffed fair and square

JacquesHammer · 02/11/2019 11:05

I think it's easy to win when you have the ref in your pocket

Oh give over

We'll be bored stupid for the next week about the terrible ref

Of course. Blame the ref you can pass the buck for your own responsibility! If you’re a fan of rugby of any sort you must be able to see England lost this completely by themselves!

Squigean · 02/11/2019 11:07

Don't like the ref, but it wasnt lost on that. SA dominated and played thier game. England appeared to not have taken note of any game SA has played so far. Just didn't adapt.

The ref is a poor one, a decent one wouldn't have let the game be slowed down.

Oh this is entertaining. Cup arriving in a monster truck

Midgey91 · 02/11/2019 11:10

I'm not saying England should have won. I'm saying that it would have been a better contest if the ref applied the same rules across both teams. Then it would have been a better match to watch and whoever won would actually have been deserved....

Sexnotgender · 02/11/2019 11:11

South Africa totally outplayed England. Absolutely deserved the win.

Go Bokke!!!

JacquesHammer · 02/11/2019 11:12

Confused South Africa deserved to win. They had better tactics, played more adventurous rugby in places.

England looked utterly unprepared.

A different ref would have made no difference at all when one of the teams cannot decode the game plan of the others.

Would a different coach made a difference? Possibly.

ExecutiveFiat · 02/11/2019 11:14

Really pleased for SA. why are England always sore losers.

JacquesHammer · 02/11/2019 11:15

why are England always sore losers
Are you reading a different thread Grin

AgeLikeWine · 02/11/2019 11:17

England are not sore losers, that is a ridiculous comment. Every England player, pundit or fan I have heard in the last half hour has admitted that we were outplayed by a better team on the day and congratulated SA on a deserved victory.

Rosie2000 · 02/11/2019 11:20

Well done to SA, not sure why England are removing their medals, they should be proud of how well they have done.

Squigean · 02/11/2019 11:22

Real shame that the SA rugby style was dull as dish water kicking. (They might have suprised themselves by scoring tries!) and with an England ho didn't get out the starting blocks was a dull 70 mins in that match.

Well i say didn't get out of starting blocks, it was more they couldn't.

JacquesHammer · 02/11/2019 11:22

They didn’t win.

For South Africa nothing less than victory is acceptable. That’s what the England mindset (throughout any sport!) should be.

There are a few comments on this very thread.

People obviously expected more after last week, but South Africa did to England what England did to NZ. Nothing to do with the ref.

ExecutiveFiat · 02/11/2019 11:23

They did last week against the AB’s Rosie, but they were really poor today.

Squigean · 02/11/2019 11:23

Yes because everyone is delighted to lose ExecutiveFiat

Your comment is chip on shoulder stuff.

JacquesHammer · 02/11/2019 11:24

“A few” being the operative term. A thread where the majority of people say “not the ref, South Africa deserved to win” doesn’t exactly translate to “England are always poor losers”.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/11/2019 11:25

Unfortunately for the sensible fans, people always zero in on the bitter people.

JacquesHammer · 02/11/2019 11:26

Yeah. IME like usually calls to like!

Squigean · 02/11/2019 11:28

I'm not sure any complaining about a ref can be taken to NZ level mind!! (Fans, not team.)

GrouchyKiwi · 02/11/2019 11:29

Kolisi's children are adorable. One thing I've loved about this cup is how much emphasis there has been on family.

ExecutiveFiat · 02/11/2019 11:29

Get over yourself Squig Think you’re the one with the chipSmile

Eh, I think all countries' fans are guilty of this from time to time. The whining about 2007 did last a long time, though!

OrangeHue · 02/11/2019 11:31

Why did the england team remove their medals?

Squigean · 02/11/2019 11:40

Thinking specifically about Wayne Barnes hatred.

Espoleta · 02/11/2019 11:40

Honestly I think the ref was terrible. Stopped any flow in the first half. I don’t think have favoured South Africa I just think he was poor.
South Africa outplayed England. 20point is a big margin.
Such a lovely celebration from the South African team. Go bokke!!!
