Can't see a thread on this ....

Any rugby lovers here? Not many of my girlfriends share my love of rugby.

France/Argentina - cracking close match.

Japan/Russia - glad the home team won.

Australia/Fiji fantastic first half.

And now the All Blacks v Springboks - can't wait ....

Japan should definitely be given a place in the Rugby Championship or 6N. They have earned it, and it also makes commercial sense for the game. Japan is a huge market.

Horehound · 13/10/2019 14:36

Why did Scotland veto Ireland for the 2023 world cup

Horehound · 13/10/2019 14:38

@lifeonVenus
Keep it as 6 nations and boot Italy out.

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 14:40

Japan have been playing international rugby for a long time. Their trip to Wales in the 70s was immortalised by Max Boyce.

cricketmum84 · 13/10/2019 14:45

Has anyone seen the footage of the Canada team helping with the clear up operation this morning? Quite heartwarming.

massistar · 13/10/2019 14:57

Was watching on catchup cos my son was playing this morning. Gutted but well done Japan. Very well deserved!

massistar · 13/10/2019 15:45

Anyone else thinking Toonie could be for the chop?

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 15:55

That's what usually happens massistar. Gareth Jenkins was sacked immediately in 2007. Aren't most of the coaching contracts based around the WC now?

Rugbylife · 13/10/2019 16:00

Happy I found this post, never knew it existed. Absolutely cracking game of rugby from Scotland and Japan. I really think Japan can beat SA in quarters. Disappointed in Wales game though, far too many handling errors, it showed that these boy’s haven’t played enough together but we’ll take a win and on to the quarters.

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 16:17

Rugbu I know we have to beat France but like you I think Japan could give SA a run which could leave Wales v Japan in the semi finals Shock

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 16:19

Really autocorrect? Substituting rugbu for rugby? You really don't know me at all, do you?

massistar · 13/10/2019 16:39

@AlunWynsKnee yep. Think he relies a bit to heavily on starting the old guard. Feel for Laidlaw but he's had his day. Probably Seymour too. At least we've got some exciting players coming through.

massistar · 13/10/2019 16:41

Firmly behind Wales now but hope japan progress further than the quarters! They barely put a foot wrong today. So few errors. Actually felt like very few penalties from either side.

Rugbylife · 13/10/2019 17:14

Would love to see Wales V Japan semi but we would have to put a performance on. I don’t think we’ve played to the best of our ability yet!

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 18:25

Hope we haven't played our best yet. Not good enough to win on our showings so far. We need to find a few more gears.

Horehound · 13/10/2019 19:03

I don't think townsend will be sacked. It wasn't a poor performance.

MrsJoshNavidi · 13/10/2019 19:37

Loved to hear the panel say they should bring Japan into the 6 nations to make it the 7 nations lol

Keep it as 6 Nations but swap Italy for Japan.

LifeonVenus · 13/10/2019 20:48

Nobody cares about Ireland having to face the All Blacks Saturday (cries).
They're bringing over some lawyers or something for Bundee.
Plus we have Sexy I suppose.

LifeonVenus · 13/10/2019 20:50

Any other Irish person shitting it?

AlunWynsKnee · 13/10/2019 21:09

You can beat them on a good day Life

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/10/2019 21:14

I’ve watched every match so far - but I only saw this thread today. I would have posted earlier, but didn’t want to see any of today’s results.

I thought the Scotland Japan game was amazing, and, even though I am gutted for Scotland, I think Japan richly deserved their win - I will be rooting for them against SA.

MrsJoshNavidi · 13/10/2019 21:30

LifeonVenus.you've done it twice recently. If anyone can beat them, Ireland can.

MrsJoshNavidi · 13/10/2019 21:34

I don't know if it's significant, but Wales and Japan finished on 19 points to top their groups.
NZ finished on 16 and England on 17 at the top of theirs.

grins · 13/10/2019 21:42

It's not significant as Wales and Japan played all their games whereas England and New Zealand did not.

AnOojamaflip · 14/10/2019 14:43

@LifeonVenus from anyone I've spoken too it seems to be either an attitude of no change we're out, or no problem we're through!!

All the psychology games seems to be a really southern hemisphere thing. All a bit eye rolling for me!!
