In the spirit of previous rolling Football threads, would posters sign in with:

  1. What country/countries you support
  2. What country teams you particularly dislike (Euro or world)?
  3. What things your family are doing to get your kids excited about the Euro 2016 tournament?
  4. A comment about a player or two, or an issue or two.

Ha ha ha that has calmed my nerves pre job interview Grin

ThisPanCan · 16/06/2016 13:42

Well that's torn it.

Someone at the top in my organisation has had a 'staff morale' by-pass and indicated no-one is to be watching "the football game" in work hours.

Really? Just really?

To echo the dear departed Donna Summer " They said it really loud, they said it on the air On The Radio, whoaoo".

ClashCityRocker · 16/06/2016 13:42

Good luck with the interview!

See England have the same starting eleven. Makes sense as they played well against Russia although I'd have swapped either Kane or Sterling for Vardy but realise I am beginning to sound like a stuck record

Hoping Kane has a better game.

Thinking it's gonna be a tough game and I'm a little torn as I would love Wales to do well - mind you they'll be through if they beat the Russians.

Come on England!

ClashCityRocker · 16/06/2016 13:44

Day off for me Grin

We were supposed to be having workmen in but they've unexpectedly postponed (wonder why!)

Settling down to watch the match with a vino.

ThisPanCan · 16/06/2016 13:45

Thanks for that CCR - that makes me feel a whole lot better.....

Harry Kane HAS to be tired and heavy-legged. He played every game for the Tiny Tots, didn't he? Including their summer games beginning last June?

Ian Harte singing his heart out. Brilliant.
Interview went well I think , now settling down with Irish DH to watch.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 16/06/2016 14:12

Great to see Joe Hart seeing the national anthem so loudly.

He's from my home town, there's a lot of England/Wales rivalry here being so close to the border.

Other teams sing 'sheep, sheep, sheep' to us to wind us up about being almost Welsh Grin

emotionsecho · 16/06/2016 14:58

Listening to my dh chuntering on is highly amusingGrin. Stirling needs to be substituted and Vardy should be playing, he should have started the game.

So England - what now??

BelfastBloke · 16/06/2016 15:27

If England have so many spurs players in their team, why shouldn't they finish third?

OP posts:
ThisPanCan · 16/06/2016 15:34

the England goal doesn't change the group. England still have to beat Slovakia in any case.

emotionsecho · 16/06/2016 15:35

Looks like an all out attack line up from England now.

BelfastBloke · 16/06/2016 15:44

If England draw now (2 points) and then beat Slovakia (5 points total), can they go through?

OP posts:
ThisPanCan · 16/06/2016 15:47

yes BB - all is possible (but not likely!). Russia could beat Wales and leave England on 5 and Wales on 4.
But to go through England must beat Slovakia...

emotionsecho · 16/06/2016 15:50

Oh yay!!!!!!

(sorry Wales)

BelfastBloke · 16/06/2016 15:55

Vardy Sturridge Rooney Rashford on the pitch. That's not going to work against a proper side like Spain or Germany.

OP posts:
KenDoddsDadsDog · 16/06/2016 15:56

Get in there !

ClashCityRocker · 16/06/2016 16:06

To be fair, I think drawing all three games nil nil gives you an 80 odd percent possibility of going through. Not sure I like the new set up.

Is it four third place teams go through?

Smart substitutions from Woy but agree we are going to have to play a feck of a lot differently when we meet stronger opposition.

BelfastBloke · 16/06/2016 16:08

Peter Schmeicel says Hart shouldn't have had a wall, with Bale 35 yards out.

Orangetoffee · 16/06/2016 16:15

Watched the game with mixed emotions, cheering and shouting at both sides, hoping for a draw but England was the better side and I am happy they won.
Woy didn't have a choice but to make the subs at half time, Kane and Sterling just weren't good enough.

emotionsecho · 16/06/2016 16:40

I hope that Wales and England go through from this group, although I wanted England to win I don't want to Wales go out.

BelfastBloke · 16/06/2016 16:54

Agreed.

Now come on Norn Iron against Ukraine

OP posts:
emotionsecho · 16/06/2016 17:00

Yes agreed fingers crossed for Norn Iron too.

BelfastBloke · 16/06/2016 19:00

Good job lad. Norn Iron 2-0 Ukraine

Orangetoffee · 16/06/2016 19:04
