ariadneoliver · 24/12/2014 12:17

Oops www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sports/2265727-MN-Peloton-Christmas-Quiz

there you go Xmas Grin

DeePancrisPandevenistaken · 24/12/2014 12:33

Many chapeaux to you ariadne!

DeePancrisPandevenistaken · 24/12/2014 12:38

How long do we have before the answers are revealed?

ariadneoliver · 24/12/2014 12:44

How about New Years Day, that should give everyone who wants to time to have a go.

ariadneoliver · 18/01/2015 09:33

Tour Down under live stream on wwos.ninemsn.com.au

CharliePan · 18/01/2015 12:59

ariadne - am still working through the anagrams! Deliberately not looking at the answers.

ariadneoliver · 18/01/2015 13:14

I might have made them a bit hard, I got a bit carried away. There are 8 teams and the rest are riders. All except two of the teams are World Tour (and the 2 pro conti teams are well known). Bike

CharliePan · 18/01/2015 19:41

Ermm.....Ten. Ten was all.... A MASSIVE TEN!! Wow. Probably the 10 most difficult too!! (apart from Jensie who just screamed at you!)
anyone else? Bike

DramaAlpaca · 18/01/2015 22:08

Aaargh! I meant to have a go at the quiz over the holidays, but I'm sorry to say I forgot all about it.

ariadneoliver · 18/01/2015 22:36

Don't worry Drama, the questions and answers are on separate threads so you can still join in. 10 is the high score this far.

DramaAlpaca · 18/01/2015 22:49

Um, no I really can't - because I've already read the answers thread Grin

CharliePan · 19/01/2015 19:46

"And there he goes! Pan breaks out of the pack, in the distinctive MN Peloton colours Hmm..and he's pedaling furiously for the finish line..and yes, he is riding a very quizzical-looking penny farthing! Well what would Cav make of this? Could he keep up? I doubt it! Pan looks around..."

CharliePan · 19/01/2015 19:59

Kittel and the Giant train have given up and are coasting, agog at the sprint speed..

FelixFelix · 21/01/2015 13:03

Ooh hello! I didn't know this thread was here. I have just taken delivery of some winter bib tights and wind jacket from Rapha then saw the Tour de Yorkshire route released so it's an exciting cycling related day for me today Grin

I was going to start a thread but I'll post here instead. Anyone seen the route? It will pass around 4 miles away from my house so we will probably ride to Otley Chevin or the Cow & Calf rocks to watch.

Sorry for hijacking Grin

FelixFelix · 21/01/2015 13:04

Also I've been enjoying seeing Kittel's pictures on Instagram from Australia. I love him ever so much.

CharliePan · 22/01/2015 12:19

anyone actually watching the TDU? I've booted sports channels until the spring classics. No racing and my footie team aren't in European comp this season so sports channels were useless from Sept until at least March.
Also the miserable weather here makes watch bike riding in glorious sun that bit more painful.Bike

DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2015 12:44

Yes, I am. Recording it then watching after work. Bike

Nice to see the new season under way at last. It's been a long winter.

DH got a turbo trainer for Christmas, so instead of going out in his thermals he's pedalling away inside. Might give it a go myself. His favourite bike shop was doing its best to sell me a lovely racing bike last week. I admit I'm quite tempted, my old hybrid is a bit cumbersome and I quite fancy something sleek & streamlined and I must say DH has become much more streamlined since taking up road cycling Wink

FelixFelix · 22/01/2015 13:31

Alpaca do it! Use it on the turbo then get it out on the road once the weather is better. You will love it.

I've not been watching TDU either as its on Sky Sports which we don't have. We usually watch everything else on Eurosport.

CharliePan · 22/01/2015 14:24

has dh got a panoramic vista running in front of him on a projector? Do you walk in ocassionally and hand him fluids and a musette?GrinBike

DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2015 15:22

Ha! He's just making the most of the panoramic views (really!) out of our conservatory. And if he thinks I'm going to be handing out bidons and musettes at regular intervals he can jolly well sod off Grin

Actually, he listens to podcasts to while away the time.

DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2015 15:33

I should've explained, it's a very basic turbo trainer. No screens in sight Bike

ariadneoliver · 22/01/2015 18:44

pan you can catch up with non tv live coverage here: www.cyclingfans.com/live_race_coverage

I managed to catch some 6 day racing online, so exciting

CharliePan · 24/01/2015 11:11

thanks v much ariadne! It's mini-chunks isn't it, but very satisfying to see some road riding again.Bike

DramaAlpaca · 24/01/2015 18:20

The Sky coverage of the TDU is interspersed with lots of features about Cadel and his career. Most of the footage shows him in tears, bless him. He's an emotional type, is Cadel.
