Hi all! I'm not sure if this is the right place so please forgive and guide if not!!! I will post a pic in the next comment incase you don't want to see it!

I've had (what I think is) a verruca for what seems like forever (which is an absolute nightmare with OCD). Tonight I peeled some skin off and managed to take a little chunk out too.. what would you do next? Will the white (dead?) Skin just fall off on its own? Would you carry on treating it? Would you give it a break to see what it does? I just want a summer of sandals 😭

Got rid of my verruca using tea tree oil. Long soak in the bath and a bit of digging with a pair of tweezers. It fell out the following day.

Best of luck, they are tenacious buggers.

File it OP too before you put a new layer on.
Looking loads better than your first image.

I had a very similar verruca for 12 long and painful years..it was horrific . I tried absolutely everything (gp iced it, bazzoka, cutting it out, bicarb all sorts) than some wonderful person on MN suggested to use nail varnish on it everyday for a month. It absolutely worked and it went and has never come back

Can I ask what sort of nail varnish you used, colour / brand? Would like to try this!

Ivyy · 04/07/2024 17:27

@Verrucahelp what nail varnish are you using, does it have to be a certain colour, cheap and cheerful brand or expensive? I want to try this on dd, she has a v similar looking verruca on her foot and months of Scholl plasters haven't done a lot unfortunately

Verrucahelp · 04/07/2024 17:51

@Ivyy I'm just using a black Revolution one, it wasn't the cheapest one I could find on Amazon but I only use products not tested on animals! I don't think the Scholl plasters did much for me either so I'm hoping this does!

Literally some cheap shit from the supermarket. It works by suffocating the verruca I think!

Verrucahelp · 15/07/2024 18:27

How are you getting on with it @Ivyy ??

We’ve just killed three of my daughter’s persistent verrucas. We put the extra strong Bazuka on and this seemed to be much better. We covered it in duct tape for just one day and when we took the tape off and pulled it with sharp tweezers a huge plug popped out! It was AMAZINGLY satisfying!!!
She also had 2 small ones on the end of her toe which we used just extra strong Bazuka on and pulling bits out with sharp pointed tweezers for a week. We then went on a beach holiday and she ran up to us after playing in the sand and sea all day with both verrucas hanging off on a flap of skin, she was very brave and piled them off and now she’s verucca free! Im going to miss those guys! 😂

Verrucahelp · 21/07/2024 19:31

Gave up with nail varnish as it just kept peeling so currently trying @Bonnieweejeaniemccall method!! Went over with sand paper last night and tonight, will try again Tuesday night I think! The slight mark is where I made it bleed slightly.

Great! Fingers crossed u get the success we did! If u find it gets sore only do it every 3 days.

Ivyy · 21/07/2024 20:26

@Verrucahelp My daughter hated the nail varnish she said it stung, so we didn't get beyond one try with that. Plus like you say it peeled off very quickly!

There's no way she'll let me do anything like you've mentioned with your daughter @Oompapaoompapathatshowitgoes, she'll barely let me near it!

Annoyingly she now appears to have one on her finger as well, I'm assuming it's spread from her maybe touching the one on her foot?

I think I'm going to have to book her in to have them frozen off by a dermatologist or someone. She hates them and wants rid, but doesn't like me doing anything / isn't brave enough to try anything more invasive than the Scholl plasters, which didn't do much!

Stringervest · 21/07/2024 20:38

Just to do sone myth busting, the black threads are not the roots, they are dried blood. Verrucas are caused by a virus, you can't see it, and you have to get rid of every last bit of you want to stop it coming back.

I I know this because it became my specialist subject earlier this year. I got SO CLOSE to getting rid of it, and then it came back. I was furious. It's still there til I can be arsed to go to a podiatrist.

Vitriolinsanity · 21/07/2024 20:40

I took DS and his Verucca to the podiatrist. I swear to God herself as he walked in the fucker literally dropped off. It still cost £80 for the Podiatrist to say "you have no verucca". I've never wanted to kill anyone so hard.

mylittleitalianhome · 21/07/2024 20:42

You need to soak it with apple cider vinegar every day! It’s literally the only thing that worked for my sister when she was a teenager.

Verrucahelp · 21/07/2024 20:58

@Vitriolinsanity I'm sorry but that made me chuckle 🤣

@mylittleitalianhome I'm going to get some this week.. can't soak (OCD) but will get some on it daily and see how it goes. Used it about 10 years ago and it worked a treat, but didn't have the OCD then and could leave it wet on my foot for the night/day!!

@Ivyy sorry to hear that.. have you tried the Bazuka extra strength a PP suggested? I might give that a go too 🙈

@Stringervest that makes sense!! I hate that I get them. I feel like I'll never be able to go swimming again 😭 good luck with yours!!

mylittleitalianhome · 22/07/2024 10:30

I think that’s what she did actually…it eventually turned black and just dried up. I had a wart on my hand as a teenager and remember eventually getting so sick of it that I just dug it out with nail
clippers until it bled 😖 Pretty sure it’s not recommended but it did work!

Verrucahelp · 23/07/2024 18:06

@Stringervest how did you get close to getting rid of it? What did you use?

OP posts:
Verrucahelp · 23/07/2024 18:08

Still here.. another file down today 🙃 debating ordering some Bazuka extra strength but I'm at a loss now!! The reddy brown bit is blood I think. I think I caught it last time I sanded it down!

@Verrucahelp how is your foot now?

Stringervest · 27/08/2024 05:05

Sorry for late reply OP. I used bazuka, then I covered it with electrical tape every night and every evening before using more bazuka I filed it with a nail file. It got really flat and I could mainly see the fingerprint pattern on my foot and I thought it was gone, but there was a tiny tiny bit of the bastard thing left and it regenerated.

I'm going to pay a podiatrist when I can be arsed.

olympicsrock · 27/08/2024 05:21

It’s getting smaller for sure!

Verrucahelp · 27/08/2024 06:18

@IsometimeswonderwhoIam still there! Used Salactol, but then got down to some pink fleshy skin and it seemed a bit 'weepy'?! Then last Monday I used the Scholl freeze and that seems to have done naff all. I'm going to do it again tonight!
