Hi all! I'm not sure if this is the right place so please forgive and guide if not!!! I will post a pic in the next comment incase you don't want to see it!

I've had (what I think is) a verruca for what seems like forever (which is an absolute nightmare with OCD). Tonight I peeled some skin off and managed to take a little chunk out too.. what would you do next? Will the white (dead?) Skin just fall off on its own? Would you carry on treating it? Would you give it a break to see what it does? I just want a summer of sandals 😭

Yes. Try putting a compeed plaster on it and leave it on for as long as you can then replace and continue. It will go eventually.

lordloveadog · 10/05/2024 21:13

Keep treating. You’re winning, but it isn’t gone yet.

Ime you have to treat pretty aggressively.

dreamfield · 10/05/2024 21:13

Good god what the hell have you done to yourself?

Jellycats4life · 10/05/2024 21:14

You’ll know soon enough. Both of my kids had persistent verrucas at different times, which got caught on carpet and painfully ripped the skin… but that was enough to make their immune systems kick in and everything vanished and healed up.

It’s zoomed in, it isn’t a giant hole.

That truly is a thing of beauty 😍

TraitorsGate · 10/05/2024 21:19

Are you using bazuka, mine went like that, it did eventually all just fall off, try not to pick it.

I'm using the Scholl verruca and wart plaster things! They make it super easy to peel the skin off but not sure how to know when it's gone!

I'm glad I didn't post a pic from a month or so back!! Then they would really have been asking what I've done!!

Ok so with my daughter we used nail polish. I was incredibly sceptical but nothing else worked. Three weeks later the whole thing fell off. Might be worth a try. She was terrible, wouldn't let me scrape it or poke it. Very unsatisfying Grin

I will wait till this (hopefully) falls off and if I'm still unsure I will try that! I've read about using black nail varnish. Did you use that or just any colour? I don't know if blocking light is important! That sounds like such a stupid question 🤣

Funnily enough it said use a dark colour polish!

Right if it's not gone by the time I'm back from my holiday in two weeks that's what I'm doing!

You need to keep on going, it's nowhere near done.

sumnus · 25/05/2024 22:35

(I am actually envious of you!).

Verrucahelp · 26/05/2024 19:11

@sumnus oh no, how?! It wreaks havoc with my OCD, it takes me forever to get ready after a shower! I just want it gone 😭

sumnus · 26/05/2024 19:44

Sorry, I feel that was really dismissive of me.

(I just love picking).

olympicsrock · 26/05/2024 21:21

You need to snip away some of that dead macerated skin to see what’s going on.

isthismylifenow · 26/05/2024 21:31

I had one on the ball of my foot, it was there for years. I tried everything and in the end I killed it off with apple cider vinegar. But it's quite painful.

But. When you think it's cleared, even if you are 99.9% convinced, keep going a while longer. This is how mine turned into such a lengthy process, as it wasn't actually gone at all.

I'd say 2 more weeks at a minimum.

spottyhotdog · 26/05/2024 21:33

You really need to get into it and get the roots out. Took a while with mine years ago. Hurt like crazy but that's the only way it's going to go for good.

Oblomov24 · 26/05/2024 22:25

Have you cut away at it, and put on another treatment yet?
