When you say ‘lower back’ is it right at the end of your spine (maybe slightly to one side or the other)? If so it could be a pilonidal sinus. I’d get a doctor to look at it, it might need surgery and/or antibiotics.

Gah! I hope OP is ok. Read every post hoping for "the burst". Sadly , to no avail.

I used to get them a lot just used to squeeze it. Until I got a huge one on my ass. That was about the size of a golfball. I got antibiotics it burst the smell was horrendous. Had family members wanting to eye it up. A few handfuls of salt in the bath did help.

Ohhh @Bluey2022 come on!! Surely you didn’t go to bed and leave it? That’s going to make quite a mess on your sheets if you did - can’t see it lasting the night and it would be SUCH a shame to waste it….
