Personally I think a witlow is not an emergency, so unless you are the very unlucky small percentage with spreading infection then no need for a&e. But equally lots of people are worried about the pain/doing it themselves/sterilising correctly.

It apparently went from nothing to that size overnight. I say apparently because the first I saw of it was when he was hanging up the washing first thing. The fact it happened so quickly was the scary bit. He noticed it at rugby yesterday afternoon (and we got distracted by his granny falling over and needing to be rescued yesterday afterwards) but didn't feel the need to tell me until I spotted it today. That led to a discussion on how laid back is appropriate for injuries/illnesses (on the way back from 3rd pharmacy - couldn't get the right antibiotics at the first two).

Well I am most grateful for that sporner Sunday post! I start my new placement tomorrow in A&E (student nurse) and I can't wait to see stuff like that. My colleagues went pale when we had wound dressings to do. Me? .... Love it!
