Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Seriously, we need a meetup and there needs to be cake and we are going to call it a party and there will be invitations sent out to make up for all the ones that don't come.

Seriously.

We could do it in the summer holidays.

Ooooh that sounds fab, but aren't we a loooooonng way away from each other?

colditz · 14/06/2010 23:36

don't know, we can't ALL be miles and miles away from each other.

We could do North, South and Midlands ones.

In a large park, on a Wednesday lunchtime or something (so not too crowded)

I am in scoooootland though ha ha. lol

silverfrog · 15/06/2010 07:04

We did all mutter about one a couple of years ago, was quite a long thread iirc, but the logistics defeated us!

5inthebackofthenet · 15/06/2010 07:09

We could do a few meet ups. So that a few don't miss out.

I live in the NE, but know for a fact I wouldn't be able to travel all the way to London to meet everyone.

roundthebend4 · 15/06/2010 08:38

I'm in Hertfordshire so be doable but can't do 18th to 25th as I'm on a meet up camp with another forum

StarOfValkyrie · 15/06/2010 09:20

But I can't let you see me. In my mind you all think I am slim, young looking and very VERY pretty!

glittery · 15/06/2010 10:35

Ah bugger! im in Scotland too!

thederkinsdame · 15/06/2010 10:50

Do you remember we tried to organise meets last year (regional ones?) What happened did anyone get together in the end?

debs40 · 15/06/2010 12:59

I think it all fizzled away. I'm in the South West-ish but could get to London!

ouryve · 15/06/2010 13:12

At least I'm not the lone Northeasterner, here!

The middle of a park would have to be without the boys, though. I'd have to spend too much time rounding them up to actually be able to talk to anyone.

staryeyed · 15/06/2010 13:17

I would love to meet up. Am in London.

StarOfValkyrie · 15/06/2010 13:21

coram fields is a good place to meet in London. It is a park with a gate and a guard to prevent (wait for it) unaccompanied adults from entering.

It has playground equipment, sand pit and a few animals as well as a coffee shop. The whole place is fairly small and it is enclosed.

I would love to meet up, especially if there's cake . Londoner here, could travel within SE.

Agree that Coram's Fields is lovely. It has playgrounds for younger and older children so good for any age range.

Would you be able to travel on Megatrain Riven?

Marne · 15/06/2010 14:05

I would love to meet up, i'm in the SW and willing to travel.

silverfrog · 15/06/2010 14:21

I wouldn't mind a meet up - would be nice ot put faces to names (well, nicknames, anyway - I'd never be able to cope on the day, you'd all still be MArne, Debs, Star, etc )

Am in the SE, near ish London, near-ish Claw on a daily basis!

MumofTrioTrioIwanaTrioIwant1NW · 15/06/2010 14:22

where in scoootlland are you

StarOfValkyrie · 15/06/2010 14:23

But, you'll all see what a minger I am.........

silverfrog · 15/06/2010 14:25

ah, you see, Star, I would go along in the full knowledge that my gorgeous dds would outshine me, and be happily deluded that that would be enough for everyone to ignore frazzled old me!

thederkinsdame · 15/06/2010 15:16

I'd come along, too, but again, parks are out for us, as DS a runner. Also has to be somewhere not too crowded or noisy, otherwise he'll be mega-stressed and we'll have to leave.

roundthebend4 · 15/06/2010 15:17

I can get to London and am up in midlands way in August

Ilona33 · 15/06/2010 16:26

We live in Barking, Essex. Anyone in the area? Or we could meet in London too ( easy with underground ). My daughter is 5 yr next months. She doesn`t really have friends and this would be great for her.

Al1son · 15/06/2010 16:43

So we need to harness the power of mumsnet en masse to get us a suitable venue.

There's an advert at the top of my page for Luxury Family Hotels. I wonder if they would be interested in helping out?

fatzak · 15/06/2010 16:50

I'd love to come along to a Northern one - could probably get to the Midlands/North East as well.
