SN children

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Would anyone be interested in a meet?

I've read several posts recently where people have spoken about the isolation and loneliness of parenting child/ren with SEN and feeling like you don't belong. Would anyone be interested in setting up some regional groups for adults to meet up, say once a month, for a coffee, or a drink and a chat with parents in the same boat? It would be a good way of letting off steam and sharing tips and knowledge and having a bloody good moan if need be!

I'm a bit protective about what I post on here in terms of personal info that could identify me - e.g. where I live, but would be happy to do through TTR if anyone else is keen.

TTR is Timetorant. It is a yahoo group for parents of SN kids. Will bump the thread!

I'm really pleased that some of you want to meet :-) I'm a bit paranoid about posting my details on here, hence I said I'd do mine via TTR, but I want to make sure that people aren't left out though, so have been thinking about best way to do this.

I was going to suggest posting county we live in. If anyone would prefer to post on TTR, I'm happy to collate it all together. I could then post a list of counties/regions where there are Mnetters who want to meet up.

I'll turn on my CAT so anyone who's NOT on TTR and doesn't want to post on here can mail me.

:-)

I would love to meet, but am not on TTR. (I am FB friends with 3 people here, who will know which bit of the country I live in)

Hi thederkinsdame

I would be very interested in meeting other parents with SEN kids. With having my DS newly diagnosed this site has been a godsend. Thanks for your comments to my earlier post - they are really helpful. I am not on TTR and don't know how to access it. I am in Bedfordshire - if there are any mums living nearby.

thederkinsdame · 14/11/2009 23:00

jackny - it was no problem. I've started to organise a list, so will post on here when we have more people listed, so we can start to organise. Hope things are getting better for you.
