OK, here it is - our own SN exercise support thread. I have to admit that I'm not starting my regime proper until next week - in my defence (m'lud) I've had a friend staying all week and was not prepared to jump about with Davina in front of him . But he did drag me up Glastonbury Tor yesterday (in the rain) so I've done a bit of exercise at least. Unfortunately I then had bubble and squeak with bacon/egg in a cafe...

As you can see I may not be the best person to exort you all to higher standards of diet and exercise - have the will power of a gnat.

Hadn't realised I liked Danish sadwiches, but I do like their pastries!
Thank you for the Davina info - I have now looked on ebay and think the 3 x 30 minutes workouts dvd sounds good - surely I can find 30 minutes - perhaps the twins can join in?

Does carrying a 12 year old count as exercise?? If so I do plenty of exercise!

Buckets · 14/09/2008 12:54

Absolutely Topbitch (great name btw.) Would recommend you google some yoga specifically for your poor old spine though.

You can't put on 2lbs in one night! Don't worry, it will be mostly water.

went to weightwatchers this morning - bit gutting to be there after 5 years, but the leader pointed out it was 14 weeks to xmas -so 1 stone seems reasonable to lose by then.
Cycling was hard work as i've got a cold.

We got a Wii-fit yesterday. Don't know if it will realistically help me get fit but I nearly PMSL watching DH twirling an imaginary hula-hoop. Its such a laugh you end up not caring about your flabby bits!

dustystar · 16/09/2008 16:58

I've always been dubious about how much a Wii fit could possibly help to get you fit but after going on it with my sister on saturday evening I'd say that if you use it regularly its really good. I was in agony yesterday.

I missed Davina yesterday too (and I bet she missed me ) but I have done a whole day's gardening today with DH and we're doing the next two days too. Not sure I'll lose any weight doing it, but ripping out a huge honeysuckle was very therapeutic!

Not started Davina yet - been covering a fair few miles on the school run though and half killing myself to take ds1 swimming and then get dd to playgroup in time. Did some gardening too - well actually I just held the ladder and PMSL whilst DH clung to the top of the tree like a Panda,so I don't think that counts...

I'm sure DH will have a hearty laugh if he catches me doing my Davina session!

Well I appear to have put on 3lbs this week, but that can't POSSIBLY be true - can it? Must be gardening muscle

I've swum just over one mile of my 22!

Buckets · 20/09/2008 13:59

OK I am 10lb over my slim-but-comfy weight - have to stop kidding myself about the miraculous powers of breastfeeding to counteract daily chocolate and cakes.

Took all 3 kids (baby in sling) to country park by myself this am. Got very angry chasing DS around the carpark - that's gotta burn some calories hasn't it?

luckylady74 · 20/09/2008 17:23

I forgot this yesterday. I have lost 3lbs which is down to weightwatchers point counting - I have eaten my own bodyweight in raw carrots and am hoping for a carotene 'tan'.

Very impressed with swimming a mile - I need to lose a bit more before I can get in my very tight 'magic'swimsuit!

I went for a bike ride this morning and it was beautiful, but a very old man raced past me on his bike so I think I need to look at the scenery less.

Another 2 lbs and I went for a 2 mile run on Wednesday, but it nearly killed me and my legs still hurt today!
Anyone else?

I've lost the 3lb and am now back to where I started when this thread began! Have had manic week - very little exercise but have been fairly restrained foodwise.
