I am so bloody angry that yet again mn hq has let a attack on a sn poster stand.
they seem to have a very weird veiw of sn. People can post and talk about murdering a child with sn and it is allowed to stay as it is their opinion!! yet if they were talking about murdering due to race it would be gone. and if you dare to mention you have a brain damaged child you are slated.

I have had enough. I love mn and do not want to flounce. so will just stay away from posting about dd.

by the way apologies, I made a mistake when I did this thread. I was very angry and am still angry but calmer. I realise that by my not posting in the SN topic tha only person I will be hurting is myself.
so I am ending that boycott well I have lasted about 2 days(not counted this thread)
I am glad though the thread has high lighted the shit treatment Riven(and others) have had to deal with on mn and mn hq's lack of support, that was my aim.

There was an important court case reported yesterday in the Times (Coleman vs Attridge Law and Another Case C-303/06 in the Court of Justice of the European Communities)

The Disability Discrimination law means that if you are running any service open to the public (a shop, an information service, a meeting service, a church etc etc)(such as mumsnet), you have to make it fair for people with disabilities to join in and not be humiliated or bullied because of their disability. The law also says that this is also true if it's a parent or carer of someone with a disability, but so far that bit has not really been tested in court, so most companies and groups were ignoring it.

It has been tested in a court now. The company allowed a woman to be bullied and humiliated by people because she had a child with a disability. The judges said that it was definitely against the law to allow this.

Amber, I read that one too. Very interesting, I thought. I'm sorry to hear about Riven. I didn't read the thread in question. I hope that she comes back as I felt she could really use some support at the moment and not be taken to pieces by a bunch of mean-spirited, unempathising @@@@wits. Unfortunately they exist on MN same as in real life. Glad to hear you're not boycotting us 2shoes. When I first found out that DD had SN it was really nice to read all the positive things on MN about people's beautiful children and how they are all wonderful and special in spite of their differences!!
