coppertop · 25/04/2008 19:22

I'd love to meet up but Bristol is too far for me.

We had a holiday there last year and it took ages on the train(s).

silverfrog · 25/04/2008 19:27

love the idea, but am lol-ing about where we would do it - can you imagine?

am in Kent, but Bristol not bad for me (relatives)

staryeyed · 25/04/2008 19:30

I would consider Bristol . It would be madness.
I've been on some of the sheffield spa meet ups in the past - which were blissfully childfree - but I'm up for anything! I've often thought I'd love to meet up with the SN board posters (and their LO, some of whom I feel I know)

silverfrog · 25/04/2008 20:38

ah, now, such is my acceptance that dd1 is with me at all times as I handle her best etc, etc, I just assumed we were talking about with children, hence my lol-ing

theheadgirl · 25/04/2008 20:50

Well I dunno - WITH children would also be interesting, as I said I would love to meet some of the LO we all speak about.
But a childfree spa in Bristol would give us time out and chance to actually speak to each other!

chonky · 25/04/2008 21:09

Bristol good for me too .

Sidge · 25/04/2008 21:13

Lourobert I'm not too far from you!

Let me know if you fancy a cuppa and CAKE!

Brizzle is a bit far for us, how about Oxford?

ouryve · 25/04/2008 23:28

I live near Durham. Bristol's like, the other side of the world.

eidsvold · 26/04/2008 03:38

I know - why not come to Aus for summer!!

I tell you - when we finally get back to the UK for a holiday I would love to have an SN meet up so that I could meet you all in person - especially some I would have known for nearly 5 year Cannot believe I have been posting on mumsnet for 5 years!!!

TinySocks · 26/04/2008 07:04

Great! DH's family lives in Bristol, we are planning a trip to the UK soon, if you guys meet while we are there I would love to meet you all in person! (have a rant, moan, and a laugh with you all in person!)
PS: Will probably take with me a copy of that "Posting on this Board" thread and get a translation and a summary if that's okay?? I am blaming it on english not being my mother tongue, but got completely lots in tranlsation!! What on earth is a poater quiche)

Davros · 26/04/2008 08:20

I would consider coming, even to Bristol! But NOT, NOT repeat NOT with children. You can all bring yours while I watch.

Ilovehousemusic · 26/04/2008 08:48

hey davros not spoken in ages. be great to catch up some time xx

I can get to a few paces, if we didn't take kids then i could probably collect Riven 9as ong as she's up for the adrenaline trip that is my driving!)- obv would need ds4 with me though, DH is great but not certain he could grow breasts in time!

LOL at the image of Riven's DH looking after all the kids- Sam would 'ave 'im in a sec if he wanted

It was indded that cheesecake!

Actually he's been great with the baby- which has been ahuge relief. DS3 just ignores him which is fine too LOL

theheadgirl · 26/04/2008 09:30

Ooh spa in Bristol! No kids! Yes count me in, and I don't even mind driving from Sheffield for this. I would need it to be a weekend though, to organise ex-h to have our girls.
When the esteemed Hulababy organises the Sheffield spa meet ups, she plans about 6 months ahead and we usually have a good 20 or so who turn up. It would be lovely to do something similar for SN people to meet each other.
Riven - the idea of us all dumping the kids on your DH - excellent!! I suspect he wouldn't be your DH for much longer after that.... I would however contribute to flowers for his memorial service.

I'm in Gateshead, would need a sherpa to get to Bristol. Maybe those of us in the frozen north could arrange a northern meet instead?!

eidsvold · 26/04/2008 10:33

so no one likes my sun and surf suggestion for Australia then ha ha!!!
