okay - if you care..... I have three weeks to go until due date - according to the consultant - could be anytime now.....

jobs completed: bought the basinette matress!!

to do - paint trim in baby's room, make cover for basinette, REST, set up furniture in baby's room!!

Figured this would stop me hijacking other threads....

jimjams - how long for you?? I am sure you told me - but I keep forgetting. Luckily I have regular med appts or I am sure I would forget who I was!!

ohhhh been to the GP this morning - she has written in my notes 3/5 down under engaged.... so the babe is on the move. The Gp suspects the strong bh i had the other day were actually moving the baby down... she says not long now and perhaps she will see me next Fri at my appt.... Oh I hope not.... see her at the appt that is......

I AM SO EXCITED, I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH

coppertop · 22/10/2004 11:39

Hurray! Come on, baby Eidsvold. You can do it!

eidsvold · 22/10/2004 11:57

will pass on your message coppertop... dh also told the baby that they had to come next wednesday as that made it easy for time off work... dh is not supposed to have time off during his notice period so he is handingin his notice a little earlier so he can have time off to be with me and then dd whilst I am in hospital.

Wed is also our anniversary so we joked we would spend another family occasion in the hospital.... had one of my birthdays in hospital when dd was in having her heart surgery - so an anniversary in the birthing suite is really our style

I hope it is oon - back to 33 degrees tomorrow and around that until the middle of next week!!! this is my face not angry but bloomin hot!!!

OP posts:
eidsvold · 23/10/2004 11:24

bloody hot today - ended up first of all with my feet in dd's paddling pool ... then laying on the concrete floor downstairs - our family/playroom that we have not managed to furnish yet...... off tomorrow to buy a nice sunlounger I can use to at least sleep or rest during the day.. it got up to mid to high 30 degrees today..........

Eidsvold - I really hope your baby shows up soon, it sounds awful with all that heat...though here in Britain, it is peeing down and very cloudy...so what's new.

I know how uncomfortable and tiring it is to carry through hot weather, and I really do feel for you.

I remember when I was 8 months gone, we went to a little village and had a cuppa. I managed to tip the boiling water fresh from the urn all over my bump. The weather was so hot, I was only wearing a thin summer dress and the water ran down my bump and into my lap at the top of my legs. I was taken to hospital where I looked like my waters must have broken, but they checked the baby and he was ok. My skin peeled off leaving what looked like bruises, so when I went into labour, one of the midwives thought my husband had beaten me!

The moral of this story is stick to cold drinks!!!! Thinking of you in that heat (phew!)

eidsvold · 24/10/2004 05:46

strong braxton hicks again this morning... whilst shopping - love the ac!! Then back ache for the rest of the day - still hot but a little more bearable than yesterday although dh is in the hammock we bought for me to use having his afternoon nap!! cheeky sod....

Cheeky dh. Will keep fingers and toes crossed for Wednesday then - just so that you can stick to tradition of course.....

beccaboo · 25/10/2004 09:27

Good luck eidsvold, we're waiting to hear news! I read your previous post as "laying the concrete floor downstairs" - I thought wow, what a woman, DIY and nine months pregnant, that's some nesting instinct.

eidsvold · 25/10/2004 09:45

Did not lay the concrete floor BUT aweek or so ago I did do some painting in the baby's room and put up blinds ( with dh's help) and helped move the furniture in - dh wondered if that was me nesting as I kept nagging him about this room being done and if we kept putting it off the baby would have no furniture sorted or anything organised..... but now it is done - bored just waiting - although dd keeps me on my toes...

hot here again but bearable although getting hotter as the week goes on apparently..... some more strong braxton hicks this morning and then nothing.......

well - today is our anniversay and we joked that we could be spending it in the birthing suite - only time will tell.....

another scorcher - so I hope this is over soon....

rsvped to a pampering morning tea thingy next Tuesday but did warn them that I may not make it. Think I deserve a facial, manicure and pedicure by that time

Next Tuesday afternoon - have to see the consultant and he will make a decision re: induction. I know he does not want me to go much beyond term - due to my desire to have a vbac and the fact that this could be a good sized babe... so time will tell.

well been to the GP - all is in place - just up to the rascal to decide to make an appearance... gosh I hope it is soon - picture one hot grumpy fed up mum to be ( ME )

that should move the little one into gear.

Merlot · 29/10/2004 09:11

I dont think I can bear the suspense any longer! For your sake, I do so hope something happens soon.

jakbrown · 29/10/2004 09:15

With ds I walked for 30 minutes and had a Bloody Mary. Went into labour three hours later!

Chocol8 · 31/10/2004 10:07

Howz it going Eidsvold? Anything yet? x

eidsvold · 31/10/2004 10:13

saw the GP friday - baby is in position - just has to make the move.... obviously not impatient like its mother

lots of periody type pains but nothing else.. thankfully it has been much cooler here which makes like bearable.

Am off to a pampering morning on Tuesday - massages, facials, manicures, pedicures etc... really looking forward to it - no doubt will happen then and miss it...

seeing the consultant Tues afternoon - so will know more then.

Very sore pelvis - babe is right down and makes everything uncomfortable - so spicy burritoes for dinner - see what happens

thanks for asking

OP posts:
eidsvold · 02/11/2004 09:40

had a good and bad day today

GOOD - pampering morning was wonderful - had a neck, shoulder, head, hand and foot massage!! Bliss - am sure I was asleep and drooling at one stage oh and had a facial , came second in two sweeps so won some money

THEN

went to the hospital - babe is now 4/5 engaged but they are worried about the size - 85th percentile the doc is predicting.... so if I have not had the baby by next Tuesday - they will decide to either rupture my membranes ( if all is favourable) OR I get another caesar
don't really want the caesar or the rupture... as that increases my risk of uterine rupture.... just want to go into labour naturally and have this babe.....

so I have tried all the old wives tales etc about bringing on labour - obviously this babe does not have my genes - dh keeps going on about how impatient I am and figured that meant the baby would come early too!!!

oh well - hope to have some nice news for you all soon.

Just been in tears on the phone to the blue badge people. She's asked me to go and see them on Friday morning.
They said they ask for a doctors note to go with everything I have just for their records incase they get audited. I asked her if she had any idea how it felt to have to fight tooth & nail for everything when you have a disabled child (and I HATE having to refer to her like that), how hard it is and how it breaks my heart a bit more every time I have to go through this. She said she was so sorry, that I should never have had to prove she has DS and that I should go in and see her and hand everything over and she would sort it for me.

Still so angry I have to go in there at all tbh and that I've been trying to get this sorted since July, the 2nd time round.

I'm getting that badge man, I am so getting it, I'm carrying Lottie in there in my arms, handing her to whoever is responsible for getting me my badge and telling her to hold Lottie and have a conversation with me, standing up for about 10 minutes, see how she likes it.

Bastards, the whole lot of them. I don't want their sympathy and understanding, I don't want to be told there there dear, you poor thing, just give me the blue badge and get out of our lives.

There, rant over.
I'll let you know when I have the badge.
