okay - if you care..... I have three weeks to go until due date - according to the consultant - could be anytime now.....

jobs completed: bought the basinette matress!!

to do - paint trim in baby's room, make cover for basinette, REST, set up furniture in baby's room!!

Figured this would stop me hijacking other threads....

jimjams - how long for you?? I am sure you told me - but I keep forgetting. Luckily I have regular med appts or I am sure I would forget who I was!!

Get nesting girl

won't be long before you are on your hands and knees cleaning out the cupboard under the sink or re-arranging the cultery drawer.

I did actually do the old cliche of scrubbing the kitchen floor on hands and knees with DS1

eidsvold · 13/10/2004 07:12

at least you were in a favourable position to aid labour suzy

I am really excited about this eidsvold!!

lou33 · 13/10/2004 08:44

Am still in shock that it is only 3 weeks away! Is dd excited?

Davros · 13/10/2004 09:29

Will you be able to post to us when it happens or can you trust DH to do it?

Jimjams · 13/10/2004 09:38

3 weeks wow! I am 3 bloody months away (end of December) - the size of a bus and incredibly fed up with everything to do with pregnancy. Have total pregnancy rage and keep losing my rag (uh lots of testosterone = autistic baby). I'm sure I'll be calmer once the blasted in-laws have done their visit and cleared off!

Dingle · 13/10/2004 10:24

Eidsvold-as if we wouldn't care!! How exciting.

I didn't get the nesting instinct-I remember digging the garden though!! Does that count!

eidsvold · 13/10/2004 11:38

oh jimjams - I have been okay but in the last week or so developed pregnancy rage again.... had to take dd to the hospital for an appt... no parking in the children's hospital ( cue mild swearing!! did have dd inthe car) parked in neary by car park - could not get park undercover -BLOODY HOT CAR!! ( cue even angrier mood) Then had to walk uphill pushing the buggy with moany tired dd... cue even worse mood - thank goodness there was not a long waiting time!! my face today from anger and the heat!!

dd has been kissing my belly with regularity - tonight she pointed at my belly and said baby!! ( first time she has done that) Today she tried to lift up my shirt in the hospital and kiss my belly.... just managed to avert that!!

dh probably not trusted to post but I am sure I will be here posting whilst in labour - take my mind off things... if not then if I disappear for a few days - in hospital.... longest stay for VBAC - no probs - three days....

jimjams - they estimated the baby's weight at this point at 3.3kg - dd was only 2.47 kg born!!! helpful dh pointed out that I probably shouldn't wallow in dd's wading pool - rainbow warrior would take too long to get here.... charming supportive man he is

glad you are all excited for me - go to the had enough stage!!! so I can borrow some of your excitement.

eidsvold · 13/10/2004 23:29

nothing yet - today's agenda - finish painting trim in baby's room and take dd for speech therapy..... need to discuss grommets with salt.... looks like they want to give them to dd think she has had enough surgery... have asked them to hold off -thankfully waiting time for surgery is 4 months so she is on the list but not due surgery for 6 months when we will review her hearing.

OP posts:
eidsvold · 13/10/2004 23:30

that's at 8 am my time!!

Hopefully she wont need them eidsvold but at least they are being vigilant about things. You got alot done yesterday!

eidsvold · 15/10/2004 03:46

well saw the gp this morning - all is fine - head not engaged but apparently that may not happen until I am in labour.....

very pregnant and angry - actually had a go at two people in the shops... first this guy had not shut his register so I struggle with dd down the register - her trying to grab everything - whilst he watches - lets me get right to the counter then tells me he is closed!! I pointed out that he did not have his sign up nor had he stopped access to the queue and why the hell did he not say something until I got to the counter....... face like this whilst I struggle to back up through very skinny aisle and go to another register......

Another guy walks straight at dd and I - plenty of room to go around us as we have come up a ramp - but no - he has to shove us out of the way.... told him that was okay we would walk around him, hate him to take two more steps than he needed .....

so now home from grocery shopping and it is going to be 35 degrees today - managed to get dd down for a sleep and I am laying on the bed under the fan like a beached whale!!!

then about to go and paint second coat on trim in babe's room.....

I think I better have this baby soon or someone is really going to get a mouthful from me

eidsvold · 16/10/2004 02:06

finished sewing bedding and cover for basinette ( moses basket)

3 weeks to go, wow, how exciting.

Eulalia · 16/10/2004 12:16

Oooh good luck

eidsvold · 17/10/2004 08:38

cool, cloudy and rainy - thank goodness..

dh and I have finished baby's room - all furniture, curtains, blinds etc up. Ready to go now..

dd came in to see what we were doing at one stage and I told her this was the baby's room - at which she sat up and started shaking her head and saying and signing no.......

according to a silly prediction - bit of fun virtual pyschic..

The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in the morning.

After a labor lasting approximately 2 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 5 ounces, and will be 18 inches long. This child will have hazel eyes and dark hair.

okay - like the 2 hours thing... but no way is that going to happen as I did not labour with dd last time so I expect this to be a long 'first' labour iykwim. dd was born with dark hair and I have dark hair and hazel eyes so that too is possible... 8lb 5 oz - I hope - they are anticipating 8lb 10 oz given the size of the babe at this weeks scan!!!

BUT
no twinges or anything... sorry - I am so ready for this babe to be out!! Not helped by dh today ( whilst we were out walking) telling me to stop moaning and how he can't wait for the baby to be born either... then is when I punch him!!! Nor is his coming home and telling me I have been pregnanct for half our short married life. Our latest joke is that we will spend our anniversary 27 Oct in the labour suite!!

OP posts:
lou33 · 17/10/2004 10:23

Anything is possible eidsvold, my first labour was only 2hrs 20 mins!

eidsvold · 18/10/2004 01:13

oh I hope so lou - but then by the time my mum gets home from work and we drop dd off and get to the hospital - get there in time to push oh well at least that would prevent the constant monitoring they want to do

some period like cramps sort of - best way to describe it but nothing else.......

OP posts:
marthamoo · 18/10/2004 07:29

Not long to go no, eidsvold - this last bit is hell though, isn't it (and I can't even imagine being heavily pg in 35 degrees heat )?

eidsvold · 19/10/2004 11:40

nothing yet
