Has anyone heard about MRT brain therapy and how effective it has been for Autistic kids in the USA?

erm, star how on earth do you get your kids to eat dates? Seriously love them - especially medjool dates, and I like all the vitamins minerals link you posted too. I'm googling recipes for this wonder fruit. Is it a fruit? Right, I'm going to start a separate thread on this. Thanks op- the most useful fact to come out of this thread.

This is my chat and you all can get out of it without commenting... It might not be educative enough for you. I am not the originator of the therapy, get info yourself and if not just don't comment

Oh dear. You have no idea how mumsnet works, do you. Clue: Generally not by people rolling over and saying "that's nice dear." when they see something questionable. Also not by people stamping their feet and announcing that it's their playground so all the meanies need to go away.

Lesley I stick then in porridge, in flapjacks and often give dried dates just as a snack. 2 at a time is enough. They are lovely with a glass of milk.

I can't say whether they help, but I'm pretty confident that they have benefits beyond what I'm using them for and crucially the don't fry my kids brains.

I think people have made it very clear what they choose.

Also Love Dr Murphy in the Beverly Hills cop films.

Well this is a very strange thread.

I hate dates, can't stomach the site of them. I will be very pissed off if they cure autism but will close my eyes, hold my nose and force feed them to the boys.

better that then give them unproven, unscientific electric methods and drugs

My point exactly....
Different strokes for different folks.....
You can choose whatever work for you without having to face backlash from people that disagree with your choice.

I like dates but we dont get them much because they are tricky things to eat.

Just as some folks go with the ABA therapy and some don't agree with it.. This has become a therapy of choice as well...
Some of you see it as brain frying, That is your opinion and you are welcomed to have them....

It's a good job nobody has disagreed with your choice then isn't it, I mean you've given us no information or personal opinion what so ever, so you can't possible be trying to claim people are disagreeing with your choice.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 30/09/2015 09:41

That is your opinion and you are welcomed to have them....

Yes... you are saying this more and more, Like they used to do in russia.

Anyway, back on track I was reading an interesting thing yesterday, researchers now believe the forbidden fruit Eve ate was more likely to be either figs or dates, not an apple.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 30/09/2015 09:51

Oh FFS, the man experimented on his own child's brain, and you think he has an opinion/treatment worth listening to? Shock

"Yes, Dr Frankenstein! Sign me up, Dr Frankenstein!"

Dear God. I vote either journalist or deluded. Don't particularly care which.

How's that for an opinion? You're welcome to it.
