Could you post if:

A) You have booked and received a confirmation by email.

B) You have sent the form and cheque but have not had confirmation of your booking.

Or

C) Intend to book but have not yet sent the form/cheque.

Moondog has received 12 bookings so far, but I have had 26 forms requested.

If Moondog receives less than 15 bookings the event can't go ahead, so she may have to open it up to people from other places, but ideally we'd like to keep it to MNSN only.

I'm trying to get an idea of who else wants to come Smile

Yes you will zzzzz. It ain't hard and your breadth of knowledge will be an asset. Sure you have to take data etc. but you can't do it in a vacuum. It's a methodology rather than a curriculum. You're brilliant at resources etc.

Yes, but hard to be like Ghandi when it is your own child and you live in a culture where parent's opinions on education are utterly despised.

moondog · 17/06/2014 10:57

Star, I love all that.
I love order and doing things right.
People realise then that a routine is not restrictive.
It essentially allows quicker escape from tedious things and quicker access to more reinforcing ones.

My kids are in a fantastically smooth routine after school, for example.
Bags in, boxes sorted of detritus and rinsed, bottles emptied, notes out, homework set out, in matter of minutes.
Took a lot of coaching to get it working but now it does, it is one less tedious daily thing to worry about.

moondog. I think you've met my Senco Grin.
I've come across parents who dealt with her 10yrs ago and still get emotional at the things she said to them.

lougle · 17/06/2014 14:53

Did you know that McDonalds have their burger buns 80% of the size of their burgers, so that by the time they shrink in the cooking process, they're still edging out of the bun, giving the notion that they are generously sized?

"How am I going to join in on this FB group eh? I won't know what you are all gabbing about." zzzzz you are most likely doing it, tbh, from your posts, you just don't realise you are doing it and don't have it recorded in pretty charts to let you see how much of a difference you're making.

I'm going to get a FB group started, just with me and DH on it to begin with (because you can't set up a group unless you have a person to add), so I can put some helpful documents up that Moondog, Yvonne, etc., have linked to. Then, I'll make a thread telling the world MNSNers about it, and if people want to join to post, or just lurk, then we can add them.

I will commit to dropping by the FB group once a month and giving some feedback on the data as long as you all understand that this is difficult to do when you a.) don't know the child and b.) haven't seen the teaching/instruction in action.

lougle · 17/06/2014 15:05

That's kind of you, moondog. Can I add a c) that you are dropping by as an individual and nobody should 'expect' you to give advice as a professional?

I wouldn't want you to get into a situation where you finish work on a Friday and have 150 questions to answer if you drop by the FB group!

Yes, good idea.
I'm happy to help and want to do so but I do have a f/t job already. Grin

StarlightMcKenzie · 17/06/2014 15:09

Oooh, that's very kind Moondog. I agree with Lougle and suggest that we should treat it as a caring offer and not take data on your frequency, nor number of people you can help per month..............

Lougle, if/when you set up the group, can I lurk? I don't really do any work at all with my lot at home (well, not overtly anyway!) as dd1 is more than sorted at school, and dd2 is mostly about the emotional side of things. Ds is just ds, and does his own thing, his own way (and seems to be getting back on track developmentally), but I would like to join in where I can. I was gutted to not be able to make the day last week - sounds like you all had a fab time - but it is manic central round here, with barely a spare hour let alone a whole day!

AlarmOnSnooze · 17/06/2014 15:23

Oh, meant to add - thanks for the head sprout tipoff. I think I might tackle the reading comprehension programme with dd2 over te summer, before she starts yr3 in September.

lougle · 17/06/2014 15:49

I'm glad the Headsprout is useful to you. It's Moondog's tip off, really, but I'm glad to be able to pass it along.

It's going to take me a few days to get the group comfy before I invite people.

Any ideas for a name?

Hello you lot Smile

Am playing catch up here, got back from training day and got stuck into ripping out coving, skirting boards, room swap, flooding lounge after taking radiator off wall, massive de-clutter, ready for plasterers and decorators, few minor DIY injuries and trips to the, tip. And dd2 woke bright as a button at 5am on my day back at work! New IEP received, signed, my copy went straight in recycling.

Have been looking at handouts, mulling over my new daily, routine, gearing up for practising SAFMEDS for dd2 times tables, ordering timers, clickers and considering optimal layout of new dining room for homework resources etc.

Please sign me up to FB group!

lougle · 17/06/2014 22:04
