Thought that may be the case. Grin
(I went to Cornwall a few years ago. As well as it being lovely I was struck by how damned far it is!)

DisAstrophe iPads don't run flash, unfortunately and Android devices have stopped supporting it, too.

If you have a desktop computer, you ca buy a touchscreen monitor for less than the price of an iPad mini, though.

moondog · 16/03/2013 08:40

You would be mad to miss this....

ouyre oh bugger that is a shame about the ipad and flashplayer. I have a laptop and guess I could connect a touch screen to that.

It's easy enough to do if it has an HDMI output.

I am trying to sort things out in order to attend.

moondog can we discuss starlight's pencil grip and clicker on the other thread? (to keep the strategies etc. on one thread)

moondog · 18/03/2013 17:32

Hope you can come Trying.
Have you looked at the draft programme?
What grabs you?
Yes, by all means. Can you bump that thread up as I have lost track of where it is?

Annual leave diary has vanished from office Angry. Really want to come to the PT workshop on the weds, though hopefully can do the tues anyway...

And quick hijack, is this ABA based do you think? Wink

moondog · 18/03/2013 23:24

Oh excellent Mareeya. Really look forward to chatting with you again! You'll love the PT workshop and the lovely people running it. Is what ABA based? The PT workshop or all of it? Yes on both counts!

Sorry I see what you mean now. On phone so difficult to see the link. Will read properly tomorrow but could well be. Janet Twyman who is speaking is an expert in this stuff. Do you remember Theresa talking about the upcoming chicken camp in California? Janet was at that. I know because I saw her in the States straight after she came from there.

What on earth is that Mareeya? Confused

MareeyaDolores · 19/03/2013 13:45

Well, what I think it seems to be is an academic course about how to use ABA principles on NT adults, for a range of purposes. Sort of like airmiles, but taken to a slightly extreme level Hmm

moondog · 19/03/2013 15:06

He seems to be a legal boffin on closer inspection. It may be ABA by stealth but not apparent.
That sort of stuff done by ABAers is OBM (Organisational Behaviour Management) which I am very interested in.

I've seen where you got that from Mareeya. They do look interesting don't they, those courses?!

Just googled one of the journals. Schramm talking about children with ASD seems to have more interest in selecting, generalising and developing reinforcers... the (rather lame) ones used in the various studies might 'work' initially but I bet they'll fade, I wonder about more meaningful rewards Hmm

Surely anyone working with NT adults needs a really, really good understanding of how-to-choose reinforcement principles Grin

moondog · 19/03/2013 20:11

Gosh yes.
The wonderful http://cfs.cbcs.usf.edu/faculty-staff/detail.cfm?id=784 |Miltenberger does a lot of very interesting stuff on motivationg hospital staff to wash hands and clean and so on.
Also lots on exercise.
When you go to a conference and everyone staggers out bleary eyed after wild night in the bar, he usually jogs past you having seen off 10k before breakfast.
