Well forum for the dc's is nearly done folks fighting and I are admins so soon as it's finished our dc's can all have a natter.

The weeks not been too bad here but glad it's Friday as I'm not sure how much more ds could cope with this week.

I'll be on and off tonight as I have a few bits on the dc's forum to finish up :)

Arsenic - have created a few rules (will pm you). Not sure how to add the rules to our forum though - any idea?

purplepidjin · 07/01/2011 18:00

Starfish how far away are you? My o/h and I are into VWs and go to a fair few shows during the summer, we may be able to arrange something...

LollipopViolet · 07/01/2011 18:02

Oooh I'd love a cat. The dog on the other hand, would not Grin

intothewest · 07/01/2011 18:05

Is the dcs' board just going to be for dcs with SN-or can nt dcs join in- I only ask as ds can't read or write,so he couldn't join in,but my nt teen would be intersted

intothewest · 07/01/2011 18:06

Purple- we've got a cat- can your cat teach him to be nice?

moosemama · 07/01/2011 18:13

Evening

God awful week here. Just about stopped sobbing having started not long after school pick up. Sad

Purple, we are into VWs as well. We've had 5 Type 2s since we've been married and currently have a tin-top twin sliding door converted panelvan, which is an absolute money pit and pretty tatty, but we decided it was better than having a pristine one that we would probably get all precious about the dogs and kids damaging. This one is great, we can just sling everyone in, head for the beach an return home with wet smelly dogs (and kids) and half a tonne of sand/shells/seaweed etc without a care in the world. Its also great for winter picnics and dog walks and is the only vehicle we have that we can fit the whole family plus two passengers in. We don't do the shows so much since having the dcs. Mainly because ds1 gets quite agitated and stressed by a lot of them. We do try to at least make it to vanfest though.

TheArsenicCupCake · 07/01/2011 18:17

dame .. perfect.. Right on the admin bit of the site.. There is a create board bit.. Click on that and make a rules bit.. Click the boxes to members only and create.. Then go in to it and post your rules :)

any issues I'll be on the site later on when dd has gone to bed ( am on the sofa on my phone atm :))

west ds1 has asked if he can join in as well..
The main idea was that it was a social area for our sn dc's ... However I have no issues with a siblings section or for them to just join in.. As there seems to be little for siblings about.. And it might be nice for them to chat to others and not have to explain all the time.

Haha, Moosemama, Vanfest is officially shit!!! DP commentates on the drag racing at Santa Pod for shows like Big Bang and VW Action so we go to all sorts of things Smile DP has a tatty Polo, we have a T25 Caravelle conversion for camping, and I run a 1970 1302 in pretty much original condition as a daily.

For shows at the Pod we're usually camped in the pits. If you did want to come to some, and I'm there, I'm sure we could sort something out so he/you can spend some time up the quiet end...

intothewest · 07/01/2011 18:22

Thanks- my thoughts exactly

LollipopViolet · 07/01/2011 18:33

Ladies, I think this board you're doing is a lovely idea. Just wish I was younger, I'm at this really awkward stage now, not a teen, but not a parent. Don't know where I belong! :)

Just had a nice dinner, gonna watch some ice hockey on the TV then maybe an early night.

starfish71 · 07/01/2011 18:36

We are in South Wales purple, near Swansea.

DS is potty on cats - gets a bit timid but so much better than he used to be with them. He does a good miaow too!

bigcar · 07/01/2011 18:42

sorry to hear the week hasn't been good for some

been a bit up and down here this week. Dla renewal needed doing so have got stuck into that for 3 days solid since all but the youngest went back to school. Just need to copy it and collate all the reports needed and it'll be in the post [yay] Got an ed psych report in the post today which is so bloody depressing, made me cry [sniff]

BUT, the good news is the lea have agreed to consult the sn school we want for dd3 with a view to her getting a place. They won't have any places until september so we'll still have to put up with rubbish provision for 2 more terms but there's hope at last! I have Grin this face tonight.

Oh and I have a vw but won't be joining the club as it's a sharan Grin

purple, pleased to hear your furball passed her tests Smile

bigcar · 07/01/2011 18:44

lollipop, think you fit in here pretty well Smile

moosemama · 07/01/2011 18:47

We don't do shows like the Big Bang now we have ds1 though Purple, its just not doable and poor old dh has to get his VW fix somehow, not to mention the boys actually like Vanfest. Dh and I come away every year whining about how crap it is and how its just a glorified craft fair with vans, but at least we can go and look at some vans. Grin We do go to Stanford Hall if we can as well and we used to do some of the smaller meets when we lived up North and ds was much younger.

We were at the amusingly titled Night of Fire at Longmarston Airfield years ago, when the Local Council banned both the late night drag racing and the fireworks. After all these years, we still refer to it fondly as the afternoon of fire. Grin Bloomin cold it were that night as well iirc. Brrrr!

Ds does have ear defenders, but is too embarrassed to wear them these days. He's also not good on going anywhere new or different - hence us having the same boring holiday in the same place with the same tourist spots and days out year after year, after year, after year after ......

Also not keen on the whole teenage girls in skimpy clothes doing beauty competitions etc and generally sexist image used to sell shows like VW Action. Not sure if that's still the case, but it certainly was when we were young 'uns.

Thanks for the offer, but I think we do right to leave it to you youngsters. We are ancient don'tchaknow. Wink

I want a Caravelle. Actually I really want a Bluestar Multivan, but dh isn't in agreement on that one. Grin

We had the most beautiful Westy, which dh (with a bit of help from me) restored from scratch when ds1 was a newborn, using all original and nos parts. It was lovely and we both really loved it, but knew with kids and dogs etc we wouldn't really enjoy owning it for fear of it getting damaged. We do have a lovely full width westy bed in our tin-top though. Hmm

TheArsenicCupCake · 07/01/2011 18:49

LPV I think you fit right in anywhere tbh :)

Purple yay on the moggy test :)

Bigcar... I am just passing you a large glass of my needs to be drunk baileys!

OP posts:
moosemama · 07/01/2011 18:50

Bigcar - a VW is a VW, you are welcome in my club anytime. Smile

Do they let Sharans into 'run what ya brung' nowadays Purple? They are VWs after all and vaguely van shaped. Wink Grin

bigcar · 07/01/2011 18:56

thanks arsenic, been finishing my christmas bottle of gin before starting on the baileys so we'll share mine next week, in between the wine of course Grin

moose, thanks, don't quite think it falls into the van category though, it's too small! I used to have a nissan serena, now that was a van Grin such a shame it died, I miss the extra space, and of course it did inspire my mn name at one stage!

LollipopViolet · 07/01/2011 19:17

Just applied to be on my regional BBC audience panel thing. We shall see how that goes. I put that I had a disability, and put lots of obscure magazines I read and programmes I watch. We shall see :)

signandsmile · 07/01/2011 19:19

right, checked him, he is fine, just doesn't want to go to sleep, so now gets a 10 mins to yell before I go back in and check again.

He is one knackered little chappie, (first afternoon back).

But yippee, yahoo and ya boo sucks to the 'other' school, statement review yest was brill, got his 25 hrs for Sept, and the school we wanted for the part 4, and they seem lovely and are wanting to work with us and asking our advice for training etc etc.

So Sept looks to be 'on target'.... (We will see... Wink)

Hi purple good news re your cat, know you had been waiitng for that.

may not be around much this eve, as fully expect to be snoring and dribbling on the sofa, Blush but hope you all have good catch up, and will do my usual Sat morning check back.

bigcar · 07/01/2011 19:33

justabout, result Grin hope you get to enjoy it dc free Smile Loved your christian minister comment!

sign, hope you get ds settled, dd3 is currently in her usual position of asleep on me, need to get her into bed.

StartingAfresh · 07/01/2011 19:46

'I was a Christian minister and I was used to working with atheists, what we needed to agree on was outcomes for DS1'

Shock Did you actually SAY that Justa?

Respect!!!!!
