Hello again, I'm back again this week if I'm allowed??

Shattering week being inducted into the world of caring for adults with SN. Had Physical training today and had been warned it'd be, well physical. Got there and it was nowhere near levels I've been trained to before!! Also, the company are very keen on supporting staff and, for the first time ever, I think I could actually enjoy working with not just the residents and colleagues but for the management too!! I'm in shock!!!

I will raise my mug of whisky-laced hot choc to you all for the spectacular way you keep going 24/7. It's hard enough doing 12 hour shifts with my wonderful DP to go home to. Respeck, sistahs

purplepidjin · 12/11/2010 18:41

Oh and into and happy birthday 5inthebed!

StarkAndWitchesWillFindYou · 12/11/2010 18:42

Hi intothewest I LOVE new people.

bubbles22 I don't like your new name. I know why it's boring but can we find you a better one? Would you allow that or have you been stung too much and prefer to stick?

StarkAndWitchesWillFindYou · 12/11/2010 18:43

starfish, I'm on my 4th!

StarkAndWitchesWillFindYou · 12/11/2010 18:44

Purple I know I've been on the wine, but I just want to say (and have wanted to when sober) I lurve you!

starfish71 · 12/11/2010 18:48

Ooh I will pour myself one after bathing ds2 - think it will be a long night - he is so over excited tonight!

PolarEyes · 12/11/2010 18:49

welcome intothewest, look forward to seeing you posting.

Happy 30th for tomorrow 5inthebed, hope you have a fandabbydozy day

StarkAndWitchesWillFindYou · 12/11/2010 18:51

Oh 5 You might be 30, but do you realise you are entering your 31st year? Grin

Have a lovely day. It is my DH's birthday tomorrow too.

intothewest · 12/11/2010 18:56

Signandsay-I know the feeling-we had about 2 years of solid 'pets and other animals' and 'Justin's nursery rhymes'-he's into Thomas now-thought we'd escaped, but MIL got him one last xmas-it felt like a change at the time;but every night he says'Little bit Thonas)'

intothewest · 12/11/2010 18:58

sorry, not very good at this yet-thank you for all your welcomes

mariagoretti · 12/11/2010 18:59

DH taken big ones to beavers so am going to join you before they get back for a swift one (tea sadly). And a nice big bar of fruit & nut dark choc. Might pop in again later if bedtime goes well. Or anyone up for a dodgy nightclub after drinking-up time?

fightingthezombies · 12/11/2010 19:29

Dodgy nightclubs not my bag I'm afraid - at least not since the 80's!

slightlycrumpled · 12/11/2010 19:30

Shhh, feel better now ds2&3 are in bed. Have wine, dinner in oven and just........ahh!!! Peace.

Happy birthday 5. Just to cheer you up further (I'm nice like that) you are in your 31st year but also your 4th decade! Mwahahahahaa! Wink Grin

Sorry to all those that have had tricky weeks, here's hoping next weeks better .

LegoLady95 · 12/11/2010 19:33

All quiet upstairs so it's Wine O'Clock at my house too. Sorry to hear about the bad weeks, but nice to hear the good stuff too.
I had a sickness bug on monday, and a meeting at work thursday about restructures. I feel a bit vulnerable being part-time, but I suppose I'm cheaper than a full-timer to keep on!
DS1 (3.5, ASD) and DS2 (2.2) are now having regular moments of 'playing' together (DS2 lies on top of DS1 laughing until DS1 laughs or cries). DS1 has never let DS2 so close, so it is just wonderful for me to see.
Also found the time to bake cakes and flapjacks, and make healthy turkey burgers (which DS1 loved!), so must have been a good week!
DP is on nights, so I'm up for the dodgy nightclub.

PolarEyes · 12/11/2010 19:42

I am in dodgy nightclub mode as i have a bottle of smirnoff ice. DH seems to have necked all my budweisers. children still very awake but DH is playing super mario on the wii and they are watching. i have sneaked into his office.

DH is working all day tomorrow but in-laws are having children tomorrow night so don't have to do rock/paper/scissors to see who gets the lie-in on Sunday!

purplepidjin · 12/11/2010 19:42

Ooh, Stark, what did I do??

Actually will also message you in case it's kinky...

No dodgy nightclubs for me either, I'll be 29 on Monday so joining the MN Methuselah club :p

PolarEyes · 12/11/2010 19:47

legolady that's great about your boys interacting

LegoLady95 · 12/11/2010 19:54

Am I too old to go to the nightclub? I will be 35 next week (so I can at least still tick the 25-34 box, for now).
Polareyes, I'd love if it DP offered to do scissors/paper/stone for a lie-in, he never gets up so I can have one. He works long hours though so I let him off, way too soft!

woolytree · 12/11/2010 19:55

Brownie points for legolady! Grin I havent got that much done in weeks! :)

Purple...you cant not tell us what you did now...thats just teasing! :)

DH is cooking...despite being poorly. :) Im tempted to have some wine but it may make me feel poorly again....and the girls are coming over tomorrow night!..still tempted..it is friday! Hmm

Welcome intothewest! Grin

woolytree · 12/11/2010 19:56

PS is anyone else getting random messages saying your password/username is wrong when you havent logged out????????Hmm

PolarEyes · 12/11/2010 20:01

DH does work long hours too but he generally gets up an hour after I have mon-sat, so sunday is fair game! He does still sometimes manage to steal my lie-ins though as he is a very deep sleeper and will wake talking gibberish and go back to sleep. (I once had a conversation with him where he believed he was a doctor and was talking about "rounds" - he is a heating engineer) Hmm

ouryve · 12/11/2010 20:04

No plonk to drink tonight. I'm doped up to the eyeballs on painkillers after DS2 decided he wanted to read a 200 page book when I needed him in his buggy, yesterday. He lunged and my back/hip gave out and that was it.

DH had to stay home and sort out the kids and get them to school, this morning because I'd seized up so badly I was getting lightheaded just with the effort of going to the loo and making myself some cereal. Subsequently, DS1 was convinced he'd pick him up, too. Ended up having to push DS2 home while 2 of his helpers bundled him into one of their cars and drove him home. I could walk by then, thanks to lots of little pills and a hot bath, but not dragging an almost 4 stone boy intent on dropping to the floor.

So I do wish there was wine in the house. Probably a very good thing that there's not.

signandsay · 12/11/2010 20:04

Hi intothewest, hes not too bad most of the time, I think the funniest thing is that he loves ITV 4/ITV 2 or even better ITV 4 + 1
It doesn't matter what is on, as long as the llittle symbol is in the corner he is happy, Jeremy Kyle, Loose Women, Confused

Happy birthday to all you youngsters, (I'm 42 next yr, I think... Hmm

Rocky Road is in the fridge setting, 3rd glass of wine about to be started. Grin

signandsay · 12/11/2010 20:07

Cross post, ouryrve that sounds really painful, Sad

PolarEyes · 12/11/2010 20:08

oh no ouryve that's not good. i have an on/off back problem and find ice pack, diclofenic (sp) helps and getting squashed about by an osteopath.
