I really don't know what I want to happen Sparklerainbow. The school is 5 miles away and I chose it cos everyone warned me off our local one. I am thinking this was perhaps a mistake. Teacher is just very "my way or the high way" and I am not sure anything will change her attitude tbh. I will see what the Specalist Teacher has to say as I do trust her - she had a bit of a row with the SENCo at the school before DS1 started.

In happier news, We're off to Legoland tomorrow as it's DS1's birthday on Monday. In-laws are coming too so should be fairly stress-free.

That is fab badkitty!

Lougle · 24/09/2010 21:39

Battering, battering? You have had the very best resources of fine posters, bespoke advice, and healthy criticism.

You show me battered, and I'll show you the deep fryer Wink

SparkleRainbow · 24/09/2010 21:42

You could always investigate the local school polar - just to get a feel for it, mind you could be frying pan/fire. My way or the highway is not exactly matching his/her teaching to the needs of the class to bring out the best in your individual class members, quite rubbish really!

cory · 24/09/2010 21:47

Oooh, are there drinks going?

5inthebed · 24/09/2010 21:47

School are being unreasonable Polar. Enjoy Legoland tomorrow and happy birthday to your DS1.

On a good note for me this week I've enrolled on a small OU course. Maths because I am a math geek Grin.

Been a while since I was battered on a thread. Could do with a good disagreement toniht to vent some pent up anger.

PolarEyes · 24/09/2010 21:49

I am officially rubbish at chit-chat.

we did look at local school initially but it is v big (lots of children huge prob for DS1) and has 45 kids in reception all together in an open plan classroom so couldn't see DS1 coping with it at all. The rated other school is smaller but we would have no chance of getting DS2 in which would have huge logistical problems next year. Really really makes my head hurt!

SparkleRainbow · 24/09/2010 21:51

Sorry 5, not got "a good disagreement" in me tonight Grin

PolarEyes · 24/09/2010 21:51

Thanks 5. Well done on starting an OU course. I have been considering doing my Maths GCSE again (have not 1 but 2 D's Blush)

Militantendancy · 24/09/2010 21:53

Quick question for Starlight - what is a SIP?

What is a Statement Implementation Plan and why aren't parents allowed to attend?

I live in the same LA as you, so have I missed something?!!

2shoes · 24/09/2010 21:54

Lougle · 24/09/2010 21:55

Hope legoland is fun PolarEyes :)

I am now staring down my third glass of wine and finding it slightly menacing. I think I should have a camomile tea and go to bed.
