SparkleRainbow · 24/09/2010 20:49

Never too early on a Friday night for shots...you all right Polar?

TheArsenicCupCake · 24/09/2010 20:51

Always room for more.. And if shots are needed.. As if by magic shots appear on table :)

after an uppy downy week I had a little moment today ( before ds came out of school full of woe..) where it was a bit fabby.. A professional work works with us told dh and I that we are " fantastic parents"!
I think that is the first time we in lots and lots of years anyone has said something so nice!

Hi Arsenic. Ds not following instructions from teacher and children winding him up. He walked out of class because he didn't want to'lose it' and punch someone (his words) and was in trouble for doing that. Is getting really fed up with all the children in class having a go. He was so upset he couldn't eat his lunch and his face broke out in a rash because he was so het up. School seem to be being very strict at the moment - don't know if this is because Ados test was negative and now putting everything down to behavioural issues. I'm not happy!

ah good I shall knock a few back!

Nothing serious just had a series of mini-disasters today - hit a parked car (left my details, shouldn't cost too much no one hurt) but I was going to the post office. My car now has a blue go faster effect strip on it from the scrape. When I eventually go to the post office it is no longer there? (was in the back of a shop). Collected DS2 (NT)from preschool he had pooed his pants.

Collected DS1 from primary school and his teacher was waiting to have a word. Trying to talk to her with DS1 standing at the door asking to leave, DS2 running out, then 2 classes of children coming past on there way to a school trip. Ended up grabbing boys by their coats whilst trying to politely but firmly argue discuss a few things with teacher. Was a waste of breath, DS is staying lunch only for next week too and they won't let him come in via the office (which is what he is getting upset about in the mornings) for H&S reasons but I have to meet him there at lunchtime as it is too much work involved to let just him out of the gate.

To round it off DH has lost his good wedding ring (he has a work one and a "best" one). Best one has a lot of sentimental value to him as it is the gold from his late grand parents' wedding bands.

So nothing at all even vaguely serious but has not made for a great day either!

Polar, sounds like a hard day Sad. I hope your DH manages to find his band. Does DS1 have a 1:1 or is there a TA who could bring him out at home time? School should try acomadate you on this if it is a major problem.

Fighting, how od is your DS?

We made banana muffins this afternoon. DS2 decided that licking the bowl was best, but he wouldn't eat the cooked product. Still, it is progress.

LollipopViolet · 24/09/2010 21:11

Ah, you lot will love this actually. Last year, I had to sit down with my lecturers and write a personal evacuation plan for if the uni burns down (only took them til end of my 2nd year...). Anyway, one of the questions was "are you a wheelchair user?" Options for answer:

Yes
No and...

Wait for it...

Don't know!

And yes, I am going violet, Mystic Violet is the colour name Grin. There will hopefully be pictures when it's done. Sorry some of you are having a rotten time :(

Anything else is in the walk in Heineken-stylee fridge)

fightingthela · 24/09/2010 21:12

5inthebed - ds is 10.

SparkleRainbow · 24/09/2010 21:17

Wine, cake.....oh what the h* shots too please! Grinany nibbles?

PolarEyes · 24/09/2010 21:18

thanks 5. DS1 has a statement with 25hrs LSA in it. School claim he is having total 1:1 for the 4.5hrs he is there atm but I don't actually believe them. I know there is another child struggling in his class and do wonder if it is just easier for them to keep DS1 part time rather than being for his benefit. They will not budge on the office/gate thing. TA brings him to office, class teacher said it was too much work involved to get keys to open gate to let him out(!). I have told them the longer they continue with this routine the worse it will be. I ended up ringing DS1's Specialist Teacher and she said she will go in there next week. I daresay the class teacher will come marching out after her visit!

That is not good polar. Do you know the name of the sen governor, it is someone who could help you by "facilitating" a better arrangement, what do you want to happen?

badkitty · 24/09/2010 21:24

Evening, I like the Friday night thread.

DS and I have had a lovely Friday visiting a friend who has a 1yr old DS also with CP. And DS did amazing with Portage this morning and managed to demonstrate his cruising along the sofa skills AND sit and concentrate for a few mins (rather than the usual 10 seconds) on one of her toys. Portage lady was very pleased :) Today, I thought my life may be not so bad :)

That is really good badkitty! Smile

Brief pause as need to get more wine.

Lougle · 24/09/2010 21:30

Can I lurk - not sure whether I can do chit chat tonight. There are some days when I can do researchy/serious stuff but just can't muster chit chat. Anyone else like that?

AttilaTheMeerkat · 24/09/2010 21:32

If there is a cup of tea going I'll have one of those please and with two sugars in it. Ta muchly.

No vino for me ta as I don't drink.

Will meet SENCO on Tuesday to discuss SIP (statement implementation plan). Will now need to go on my own whoopee doo not. DS likes new secondary school and has settled in well so that is good news.

Have a good weekend everybody.
