Starting a new thread as the older one is getting close to being full.

Weigh in tonight may bring my diamond award.

Hi, just joined SW online. Lost 1.3kg in a week - impressed, but...have tried a couple of the recipes and they were god awful depressing meals. Can anyone point me in the way of some really nice meals to make as I fear that my limited self made dishes will become boring very quickly and I will lose interest/motivation and be back on the delicious curries? Quark can fuck off by the way Hmm

Groovee · 31/05/2019 17:31

@VeraSimilitude Slimming Eats, pinch of nom and two chubby cubs are good sites to check out.

@Bowbridge so sorry. That was me too. It really upset me.

@Ilikeyourbeard welcome

Not every subway offers the discount. Best to ask first.

So exhausted but food has been ok this week.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 31/05/2019 17:37

I think the discount is just for the salads at subway, I've used it in all my local ones and they've all offered a discount luckily but some might not but worth asking.
I've been 100% so far, added an extra hea past 2 days (target members plan for those who don't know I'm at target). I'm having some off plan treats tonight (cheese, crisps and twix cakeaway) 5lb under target so I have room. Had a full day off last week and still lost 1lb so trying new things to maintain. Going to re asses and change target in a few weeks if I need too but will cross that bridge if I come to it.

ExpletiveDelighted · 31/05/2019 18:02

I only ever have salads in Subway, I'm partial to fast food generally but I really don't like the subs. Tuna mayo salad is my usual when I take the DCs there.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 01/06/2019 18:20

I usually get teriyaki chicken salad as it's free and very nice.

Groovee · 02/06/2019 19:13

I like steak and chicken tikka salad.

Hello !!
I hope you don't mind me gatecrashing this thread . Long time lurker and finally decided to get my ( large ) butt into gear and actually do something about it !! Feel like I have constantly yo-yo'd with my weight and I can't understand why I cannot get it under control. I am fairly controlled in other parts of my life , don't drink really , don't smoke ... but I know I have issues with extremes so I just avoid those things . Trouble with food is that you can't avoid it. Had a totally shite morning feeling like I have failed as parent , employee , house keeper , dieter ... so bit the bullet and posted here . Hoping that this will make me commit and not sabotage like I normally do ! Confused

muminmanchester · 03/06/2019 12:55

Hi @MrsRusselBrand!

I need a kick up the arse to get back on track. Weigh in tomorrow and I think I'm probably back to where I started after a couple of weeks of being really lax about it all. I've learned that I can't do odd days off plan as it triggers a really complacent attitude, I think I need to be all or nothing.

I am struggling at lunch mostly. DD is only 10 weeks and just wants to be held all the time, which makes anything more than a sandwich really tough to make and eat. Hoping this clingy phase will soon pass!!

Groovee · 03/06/2019 19:04

Welcome everyone.

For lunches I often have leftovers. As Dd lives at uni, I still make 4 portions then box one up for my lunch the next day.

Hi @muminmanchester - crikey don't be too hard on yourself !! You have a 10 week old - just focus on eating something , anything and getting sleep when you can haha !
I know what you mean about not letting yourself slip tho , one teeny slip up and I think 'sack it I will start again on Monday ' ... sometimes that leads on to 'sack it , I will start on the 1st of May / June etc ' . You get the picture !!! I just need to make myself understand that all the small things add up , and I am only delaying my own progress !! I have done okay today tho , so that's one day in the bank . I feel now that I have rammed the proverbial stake in the ground by posting , this is the real Day 1 !

Btw , am not weighing myself just yet ( don't think I can actually emotionally face that just yet) . Am just seeing how clothes feel etc and wanting to feel better.

Wish I was organised enough to batch cook and make extra for leftovers .... Wink

muminmanchester · 03/06/2019 21:38

I know @MrsRusselBrand, I'm trying to be kind to myself but I really want to lose some weight as none of my old clothes fit and it's getting me down. I'm not after anything drastic but it would be nice to wear something other than leggings!

MrsRusselBrand · 03/06/2019 21:50

@muminmanchester totally understand what you mean !
I guess if the weather is nice some nice walks out with

MrsRusselBrand · 03/06/2019 21:55

Oooops pressed too soon and haven't worked out how to recall message !! Pffft ! Must be lack of calories affecting my brain power !!
Anyway , maybe some walks with little one will be good for some exercise at least - bit of fresh air !!
I struggle with exercise- work full time and am a single parent , DD is 12 and she does a few activities so there are literally not enough hours in the day to fit anything like that in Sad

Groovee · 04/06/2019 12:37

Weigh day. Would like to lose 1lb.

OP posts:
FiveNightsAtMummys · 04/06/2019 15:21

1/2 lb off. 5.5lb under target now

muminmanchester · 04/06/2019 16:19

Weigh day for me. I'm up 2.5lb, not as bad as expected. But turns out you can't drink wine every night for a week and still expect to lose weight Grin

MrsRusselBrand · 04/06/2019 17:06

@Groovee good luck at weigh in !!!

@FiveNightsAtMummys - amazing !! So near target , you must be chuffed to bits

@muminmanchester - yeh apparently wine can contribute to weight gain , who knew ?? WineWink . Still , another week of weight loss ahead , re set the counter and keep smiling !!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 04/06/2019 18:25

Sorry I've hit target beginning of may I'm under target now so I need to gain 2.5lb to get to the lower end of target and 5.5lb to be bang in target. Feeling a little lost as what to do.

OwlinaTree · 04/06/2019 20:39

Went to weigh in. STS, bang on target. V pleased with that!

OwlinaTree · 04/06/2019 20:40

fivenights do you think it's worth lowering your target a little?

ExpletiveDelighted · 04/06/2019 21:20

Mum - my weigh-in tomorrow. I'm expecting to find out that you can't eat fish and chips, toast and butter x2 and still
lose weight (spent the weekend at the ILs).

FiveNightsAtMummys · 04/06/2019 21:22

Possibly owl, I don't want to lower it just yet as I'm still finding my feet with target. Plus I know if I lower it I will HAVE to get to it and I get really stressed by it. I'm just trying to enjoy eating a little extra and if that continues to loose me weight when I get to my 2nd target (I have a figure in mind) I'll change it. Although I've just eaten 45 syns unplanned today so I might be at my original target next time I get weighed.

OwlinaTree · 04/06/2019 21:59

Yes it's hard to get it somewhere you are comfortable. I set mine at 9st, but it was just too difficult to maintain, so I set it to 9st 3, and that's been just right.

Groovee · 05/06/2019 06:59

I maintained which is fine. I can't go next week.

@FiveNightsAtMummys I would try an extra HEB then another 5 syns daily. It took me from March to August to work out how to keep maintaining rather than losing.

JaceLancs · 05/06/2019 08:34

Lost 1 - sadly doesn’t offset the 3 I mysteriously gained last week
I’m going on holiday next week so am expecting another gain!
Non scale victory although I’m only 3lb less than my last beach holiday (October) I have dropped a dress size now 10-12 rather than 12-14 probably due to swimming and gym and am taking 4 bikinis instead of the one I tentatively bought last time
