Can I join as well? Planning to join Monday 🙈 my weight is bloody awful and I can constantly see the excess on my face and neck and my poor partner gets the snoring to deal with.

RavenLG · 04/01/2018 13:41

@Lumon in regards to the car journey / junk I always feel the same. I'm planning on a long journey car trip in a few weeks to go see my parents. I'm going to cave in and scoff a dirty mcdonolds take a cooked jacket potato and stop at subway and get a salad. Is that an option?

I'm feeling uber dedicated this time around (hopefully it will stay). I've not long started a new job and there is a lot of travel and being so bloody overweight I wouldn't be able to cope (India is main destination and I would spend the entire time in a puddle of my own sweat!)

BeyondThePage · 04/01/2018 13:47

ooohhhh - got my voucher today - from my county's healthy living team - 12 continuous weeks of membership for free - hopefully will give me enough to get a good inroad into weightloss!

See how it goes and if I like it can sign up for more myself.

Lumon · 04/01/2018 14:24

Groovee oh no! I suppose it's an excuse for a new dress (if you have time?!). None of my 'posh' dresses fit me anymore, so I'm on the search for a last minute dress that will actually fit my current chubby state.

RavenLG McDonalds is always my weakness on a road trip, as we're leaving super early, mcdonalds breakfast will most likely be on the cards for everyone else we're travelling with but I'm hopefully going to resist! Your idea of cooked jacket potato is brilliant, may just cook some bits tomorrow night and shove it all in containers. Hopefully, it will do the trick! That's amazing that you get to work in India, I know that I would quite literally be a 'hot ass mess' lol.

trinitybleu · 04/01/2018 16:11

@lumon the Mcdonalds chicken and bacon salad with balsamic is low syns - 1.5 comes to mind but sure someone can check. Nuggets are 2 syns each.

Or, stop at a services with M&S or Waitrose and get a posh salad. I had the hot smoked salmon ones from M&S last year, again for a handful of syns and yummy. Add extra cold chicken or prawns if you need it. Unusual fruit salad pot (must have strawberries or pomegranate in my case) Take / get some Sunbites Popcorn, the Whitworth raisin shots are under 5 syns.... You can have a real feast for about 10 syns.

trinitybleu · 04/01/2018 16:14

@RavenLG I turned down a job recently because of the amount of travel to India. Was scared I wouldn't fit on the seats for the flights, and then the sweaty mess at that end. Well done for taking the job!

Lumon · 04/01/2018 20:57

trinitybleu thank you so much for all of that, noted those ideas so I can be fully prepared!

No problem Lumon.

RavenLG · 05/01/2018 10:08

@BeyondThePage great news! I hope you enjoy group and get a lot out of it! My friend had the GP referral. Did 12 weeks, then I think she got another 12 weeks (for losing a certain % of her body weight?) and kept going after the free sessions ran out. She ended up losing about 4/5 stone for her wedding. My cousin has lost 8 stone doing it as well so I'm using these wonderful ladies as inspiration!

@Lumon McDonalds / KFC is just torture so I know it's hard. Especially a double sausage egg mcmuffin... ahhh! But you can do it? And if you do cave, it's only one meal you can stay / get back on track!

@trinitybleu well, my colleagues are currently travelling to New York (unfortunately I didn't get to go) but secretly glad as you say, I'm not ready to tackle travelling and the mess I am! Although they're all stranded at various airports in America due to the snow so I'm secretly glad I avoided that one!

Had a bit of a biscuit binge last night, but had a good day otherwise. Porridge for breakfast, salad for lunch and mushroom stroganoff for dinner so hopefully not too much damage was done!

Hello everyone. I am a SW returner - fell off the wagon about 6 months ago and put weight lost back on.

Been back on it since last weekend. SW + dry January = 5lb loss this week. Very chuffed. Just had overnight oats with O% fat and frozen berries for breakfast.

Am planning to use a lot of Tom kerridge's new recipes (tried one this week and was lush, so bought the book) plus some old SW favourites.

Anyone follow people on instagram for inspiration? I follow groovee Grin (waves to groovee)

HeyToTheHo · 06/01/2018 10:52

*0% fat yoghurt

HeyToTheHo · 06/01/2018 15:52

What days do you all weigh in?

RavenLG · 06/01/2018 20:55

Hey I weigh in Monday.

I was doing so well until today. Got called into work to sort out a massive shitstorm. Went to the rugby straight after and got stadium food (pork and stuffing baguette) and had 4 pints of cider (I had a shit day at work!!). Got home and ordered a Chinese. Not good.

HeyToTheHo · 07/01/2018 12:37

Hopefully a good day today the Raven and it'll all balance out for weigh in x

BeyondThePage · 07/01/2018 12:43

I am joining on Wednesday - doing a before dinner session - so I'm not tempted to skip food just for weigh in etc...

(Raven - that sounds like my type of diet! but more seriously, we all have days like that! Grin)

trinitybleu · 07/01/2018 17:21

According to my mums scales I'm 24st 1lb so have put back on 2st of the 2.5st I lost in 2016.

Had a Christmas day with the family today so big buffet lunch but managed to mainly have ham salad plus 2 small rolls, small amount of cheese and then a few spring rolls, handful of Cheeselets etc. Should be ok syns wise, especially as just had eggs and tomatoes for breakfast.

RavenLG · 07/01/2018 18:21

I had a white bread ham and cheese sandwich and 2 packets of crisps for lunch. But have felt awful all day and so has the other half. We’ve ate so good and mainly veggie all week I think the bad food has taken its toll. Got a speedy spaghetti bolognese to whip up tonight so hopefully tomorrow’s weigh in won’t be too bad!

RhinoGirl · 07/01/2018 19:42

Hey everyone, good luck on your journey!
I’ve rejoined after seeing a photo taken for my new job and balking at my moon face! 3 stone to lose!
Breakfast this morning was an omlette with mushrooms tomatoes & ham, lunch was ryvita with fat free cottage cheese and sliced tomatoe, tea was sw chicken chow mein & egg fried rice, missed that meal!
Sent DH to the shop for some fat free greek yogurt for my overnight oats... he came back with full fat! 😩

Testarossa1 · 08/01/2018 09:06

First meeting this morning. 10.30am. Eeeek!!! Will let you know later how I get on. (Though might be later later as going to the cinema afterwards, then booking a holiday Grin)

Comedyusername · 08/01/2018 12:24

Hello - just found this thread. I'm considering going to my first SW meeting tomorrow. I really need to lose a couple of stone, which has crept on after having my second child. How is everyone finding it? I'm a bit worried I'll fail!

Crazy2yearold · 08/01/2018 14:36

Hi everyone. So I started last tues at SW and was not impressed when I was weighed. However I’ve tried to stick to plan most of the week but came on yday and have fought the urge to stuff everything bad into my mouth all at once. I’ve had two bad days and I am dreading weigh in tomo :( it doesn’t help either that I the milk allowance is so tight. I litch live off of tea and costa coffee and not having the latter (albeit sometimes I have skinny lattes) I want to literally kill everyone and anyone. I feel like I’m going to go tomo and be heavier and I will feel mega disheartened. If I tell them I’m on I assume they will understand if there’s a gain? FML Sad

RavenLG · 08/01/2018 14:45

Well weigh day was today. Lost 3.5lbs which isn't too bad considering the awful saturday / sunday morning I had.

@Crazy2yearold I believe if it's star week as they call it which I find really pathetic, it's a period! it's generally accepted you'll have a minimal loss / maintain / small gain due to water retention etc. You can always syn more milk if you're struggling or switch to skimmed / almond / soya as you get a bigger allowance.

Testarossa1 · 08/01/2018 17:52

First meeting went well. Consultant lovely and very welcoming. Lots of info and books bought home, plus a menu planner and I bought 2 recipe books. So lots to look through and plan my week! Feeling motivated at the moment!! Have just under 2 stone to lose. Have also booked a holiday to Austria in June, so want to be slimmer and fitter for then. That's my goal!

Groovee · 08/01/2018 21:17

Hi @Comedyusername I started a year ago. Still on my journey but happy with my losses. I found the first couple of weeks getting my head round it. Making silly mistakes like thinking blueberries were speed foods but I got there. It's now a way of life and much easier and not always thinking about it. Look at it as a lifestyle change and it will click. No question is a stupid question either.
