I am pleased, bit annoyed as I know I could have done better as I had a slight ice cream binge when I got in from work last night and haven't been as strict last few days Blush

Morning All. Trying to claw back a bad weekend. I foresee a gain tomo night to be honest. I'll be ok with that as I know I didn't make a proper effort.

FoofFighter · 30/05/2017 18:03

HCant do you weigh yourself at home in between SW weigh ins? SW starts at 5:30 tonight so won't know until then.

Bank holiday weekend coming up here. I'm meeting a friend for early evening drinks Saturday and am going to a boozy BBQ on Sunday at another friend's house.

Will really try and ramp up the exercise to offset some of the damage.

How is everyone getting on?

mrsBeverleygoldberg · 31/05/2017 10:52

Happy, I'm on the third week of the blood sugar diet. I need to lose 4 stone. It's amazing. No craving, or cheating, no mood swings, no hangry... I feel so much calmer. It's filling too and it's only 800 calories a day.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 31/05/2017 13:46

@hownowpowpow yes I do although my scales have run out of battery luckily as I was weighing obsessively!
Good luck for tonight :)
Eek sounds a good weekend though!

@mrsBeverleygoldberg well done :) how does that work?

OP posts:
mrsBeverleygoldberg · 31/05/2017 17:34

It's the blood sugar diet by Michael Moseley. A lot of the symptoms of hypoglycaemia were similar to how I felt although I have normal blood sugar. Stress can cause insulin resistance in muscles. It's eight weeks. I also came out quite high for carb addiction! I'm so converted, it's like how born again christians feel about their religion. I feel so much better, more energy and a more positive outlook. It's based on a Mediterranean diet. No sugar, sweetener, carbs, processed meat, although fruit (not tropical ,) and vegetables (above ground, not root , except carrots(?)) are allowed. Full fat dairy. I eat 125ml plain yogurt with 10 blueberries for breakfast. 100g cottage cheese with 100g lettuce, 50g cucumber and fajita seasoning for lunch. Vegetable curry, no rice for tea . This is today. There are lots of recipes online. It sounds like nothing but so much more filling than you'd think. I've done SW and I think this style of eating would fit in. The low calorie means you lose weight quickly so you see it working. I lost just under two inches in two weeks. It's for people with a bmi above 30, but you could follow this style of eating at higher calories each day.

happy2bhomely · 31/05/2017 18:28

MrsBeverley I'm 3 weeks in and have lost 2 inches off my waist already. I'm still at 10lbs down.

My BMI is 26.4 so I'm not on 800 calories a day. I'm averaging around 1200. I have had a couple of jaffa cakes and a meringue but other than that I have stuck with it.

My skin is clearer and bouncier. I'm sleeping better and have more energy. So far so good.

hownowpowpow · 31/05/2017 23:01

Sounds like both SW and the blood sugar diet are working for people. Miraculously I was down 2.5 pounds.

calzone · 31/05/2017 23:06

I'm doing 5:2 after plateauing forever on SW. I lost 3 stone with sw but got stuck.

I've lost 9lb in 4 weeks. Really happy.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 02/06/2017 18:58

After being so good last week I've been absolutely shit this week - snacking! Although meals have been healthy. I know I've a gain from my scales and now having a chippy.
I will not give up, I used to do this and slip into my old ways but no I'm going to get back on track. Hope your all doing ok X

purplehaze24 · 02/06/2017 22:44

HCant the weight loss for your first week was amazing, well done X Has anyone got any a exercise tips for attempting to keep the loose skin under control ? I'm on the oldish so I'm not expecting much just to do the best I can ? Hope everyone is doing ok ? X

hownowpowpow · 03/06/2017 21:25

Evening. Purple I find weight training great for toning up. Is that something you've ever tried?

My few early drinks turned into loads of booze and a pizza slice at 2am. Oops. Tomo will be another boozy and good day. Going to a BBQ. Will have to cut down on the socialising for the next few weeks.
