I went to my weigh in and nearly cried, I'm so heavy I qualify for extra sins 😥I'm not gonna use them but it seems like such a lot to lose. Almost half my body weight to be in "normal" range. Lemonypea that's amazing, tell me your secrets I'm feeling overwhelmed 😥

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 25/05/2017 02:06

@hownowpowpow yes getting on ok, until DP decided to buy a Chinese! I pinched 2 chicken balls Blush had plain rice & curry though but still!
@purplehaze24 I'm in the same boat, to get in a healthy BMI I'd have to lose 11st... I know it's a shock, it was for me, in the back of my head I knew how big id got but was in denial so needed to see if that makes sense?

Well here I go, day one 😱already I've woken up with the same old mindset. The Mmmmmmmm what can I eat today thought was replaced by a hope it's not hot so I don't have to waddle around sweating then dread about the challenge of my massive weight loss. HCantThinkOfAUsername I knew as well, the eating kinda blocked the thought process for a few months then I started noticing myself refusing invites, eating alone, finding activities for the kids to do that involved sitting or driving somewhere.

ALemonyPea · 25/05/2017 07:41

Start small, take it a meal at a time. If you have one bad meal, don't give up for the day, you have 20 more meals in the week to make it up.

Don't be afraid to use your syns at the start. It's better to use the majority of them, as when you're nearer target your loss slows down, and reducing your syns is one of the things that needs to be done.

Make sure you replace a third of your plate with speed foods, don't add it to the plate. Put the speed on first.

I only have potatoes/rice/pasta with one meal a day.

And my motto, just because you can have it, doesn't mean you should. So just because something is a free food, doesn't mean you should eat load stuff of it. Snack on speed foods rather than free food.

5BlueHydrangea · 25/05/2017 08:18

Can you give us an idea of speed foods?
I have turned into a blob and feel v bad! Heaviest I've ever been. My (adult) dd is the same. Got us new swimming costumes this week - we have good intentions - but we look like tweedledum and tweedledee!!

ALemonyPea · 25/05/2017 09:39

It's mainly fruits and vegetables from a list in your book, indicated by an S.

list here if you don't have a book.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 25/05/2017 12:54

We will do this 💪🏼
Went on a shopping trip today and costa for a drink and something to eat, I had a Diet Pepsi. I really wanted a hot choc though Blush

I went to my first group this morning. Understand most of it but some things are confusing.

Do you HAVE to have a healthyA and healthyB each day? Can do the A with no problem --cheese-- but may struggle with the B

Well done to those who have already had loses and those starting out. Hope this works for me.

Groovee · 25/05/2017 15:49

The Healthy Extras are there as part of a balanced diet. I would try to have them.

Dippysnowoman · 25/05/2017 17:08

Hey folks I know exactly how you feel... I rejoined on Tuesday. Shocking how much I weigh and how easily is put that much weight on. I'm determined to stick with it --this time.--

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 25/05/2017 18:52

@minnies I struggle with the healthy B too, so been having cereal bar or Weetabix, have a flick through the book theres loads of options for it. Group leader said yes to having both but some days I don't.

@dippy, Ive put on 5st since having a baby last year.. its so bad! Deffo have the determination this time. Although as I type this my stomach is grumbling! Have got a spag bol in the slow cooker ready for once my boys are in bed and I can eat undisturbed haha.

good luck everyone :)

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 25/05/2017 19:52

HCant yes to a cereal bar, that's what I thought I'd end up having because I'd happily have it as a snack.

What confused me was in the book in the healthyB grab and go it says
1 alpen light bar and then underneath it says 2 alpen light bars. Same with hi-fi light bars, I don't understand how it can be both 1 and 2 Confused

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 25/05/2017 20:26

You have 1 if you are doing a "speed" week but if following extra easy plan have the two :) the hifi bars are really nice.

chelsbells · 25/05/2017 20:28

Dippy what happens when you re-join? Do you have to go to the newbie meeting bit too and get a brand new book etc or can I just go to the pay desk and pay to start up my membership again? I've not been for about 3 months I think...

Groovee · 25/05/2017 20:33

Chels if you take your card and book then the pay in will help you x

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 25/05/2017 21:49

Ah thank you HCant very helpful

hownowpowpow · 25/05/2017 23:19

Hi All. How was everyone's day. I'm loving the healthy extra A. Don't drink milk so it's all cheese for me. I love cheese.

Day one done. Printed off loads of recipes for stuff that's easy to cook and can go in the freezer. I don't enjoy cooking.

Will do a big shop tomo and spend a few hours cooking a few different dishes. Keep me going for two weeks I hope.

We can all do this. Just need to get our heads around the plan and crack on. I'm loving this thread. Will be great to support each other.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 26/05/2017 14:52

hownow batch cooking is deffo a good idea, I also love using slow cooker as just chuck everything in.

Ordered an online shop as temptation for goodies gets too much when I go shopping haha

plan going well so far touch wood , actually looking forward to weigh in on Monday although I do keep weighing at home which I shouldn't do!

Hello! I'm in the same boat and am plucking up the courage to join a local Sw group Wednesday coming
So disgusted with myself and depressed!!

user1490395938 · 27/05/2017 00:31

Hope you don't mind me butting in lol sorry

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 27/05/2017 00:38

No don't be silly it's fine @user1490395938 good luck for weds ;) I find the first meeting and going through the doors the hardest bit.

OP posts:
hownowpowpow · 27/05/2017 13:51

It's going ok here. 10 syns consumed already today. She told us to use the full 15. Will have to stick to free foods for rest of day.

Shopping done but can't face the cooking yet. Lots of exercise the last few days too.

Will steer clear of the booze this weekend.

Does anyone else find it much easier to stay on track when they are at work during the week? I'm a bit all over the place at weekends.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 27/05/2017 17:16

Yes work does help! I do shift/long hours though so today is a 14hr day and I get tempted then for a Chinese when I get home as I cba to cook Blush

OP posts:
hownowpowpow · 27/05/2017 19:13

I ate cake. It's my sister's birthday and my mum made a lovely sponge. Couldn't resist a slice when I called up.

Cooked the Diet Coke chicken. Was grand. Not as amazing as I thought it would be. That could be my cooking skills at fault.

Hard to face into cooking after a 14hr day. You'd be wrecked.
