100 day challenge

FluffedIt · 29/03/2017 22:53

I'm so pants at sw I'm setting myself a challenge to stay on plan for 100 days straight.

It's weigh day tomo so will stock up the fridge get weighed and then get on it!

I will be posting here what I've eaten so I've got something to be accountable for, feel free to join in I can't be the only one that needs a good shake.

I had to get the calpol out last night, dd did the feral throaty scream for 50 mins then conked out dead to the world! I think she's teething or growth spurt as she's feeding like a monster too, sucks started the day knackered though doesn't it

I treated myself to a new Fitbit last week (husband thinks I got it off eBay!) but the one I wanted was still 80 odd quid on there and I'd rather pay more and have the warranty...(still not telling dh though!)

I also can't see your challenge, unless it's cocktails?! (If it is I like it!)

Groovee · 05/04/2017 12:23

It is cocktails x

FluffedIt · 05/04/2017 12:50

In that case, I certainly do like your challenge!!

Cocktail challenge sounds more fun than my exercise DVD one! Grin

Calpol is amazing stuff... usually DS1 hates taking anything but I was willing to risk it by 4am! He stayed awake all this morning and finally conked out about half an hour ago. DS2 is of course up and very lively so no relaxing Brew for me Sad

Fluffed which Fitbit did you go for? I want the Charge... completely agree about the warranty by the way (I've returned mine before), unless it's a real bargain on eBay you might as well pay a bit more and know it'll work!

FluffedIt · 06/04/2017 06:44

I've got the charge 2, does exactly the same as the charge just a bigger screen and you can change the straps of you need to. Upgraded from the flex with no screen at all so I can't stop playing with it!

I like the challenges on Fitbit, not that I ever win but it makes me more mindful of getting steps in.

I avoided the food at the cinema!! Woo! Had a crappy Diet Coke that pretty sure was mostly soda water but I couldn't be bothered to finback and change it, how is everyone getting on what days are we all on?

1lb gain.. oh well at least a line has been drawn under it now, my last gain of my twenties! Grin

OP posts:
RubySlippers77 · 06/04/2017 16:29

Ooooh I like the Charge 2 - the one I wanted was teal and it was £110 Sad I had a £20 Amazon voucher but still couldn't justify £90 (or rather, couldn't be bothered to listen to OH moan on about it...)

Day 1 here but not going well, already had a hot chocolate... I am so knackered and sleep deprived that I really crave sugar. The kids were very hard work yesterday and then OH had to work late, which sent me in the direction of cake and prosecco Blush

Well done on keeping away from the sweeties on your cinema trip!! The 1lb gain will soon be a thing of the past!

I have a special birthday coming up soon but it begins with a 4 and not a 3... realised that I've been on a diet for pretty much 25 years!! Even when I was thin (mid/ late 20s and early 30s) I was worried about staying thin and that I wasn't thin enough. I'm not sure what the moral of the story is but it did make me feel a bit sad to realise that!

FluffedIt · 07/04/2017 00:00

Yes I think the same when I see pics of me when I was thin and thinking I was fat...little did I know!

How old are your dc? I have 7 year old DS and 6 month old Dd.

I've decided my main thing will be to just not give up, if I do wobble just carry on, not stuff myself silly for the next 5 days til weigh in and reset.

Mmm I quite fancy a glass of fizzy!

Such a waste isn't it? Makes me feel better about going on holiday in a couple of weeks and still being a size 14 (I was a 12 until a couple of years ago!) - odds are no-one will even notice and if they do, they won't care a bit. Of course I would prefer to be slimmer but life is bloody hard at the moment and sometimes chocolate and Prosecco is all that makes it bearable.....

The builder was at home today so I had to be out all day away from my exercise DVDs and healthy stir fry options Sad it was a day of eating sandwiches and trying to entertain children for me.

I have twin boys aged 18 months and they are HARD WORK. I imagine having a 7 year old is a nice way of getting exercise - taking him to the park etc?

And how are you finding SW? I didn't mind the eating plan when I had the willpower to stick to it but my group leader wasn't great. Nice enough lady but obviously quite overweight herself, not exactly an advert for it, and the groups were quite dull Confused

Groovee · 07/04/2017 21:51

Wee NSV today on day 93. Fitted back into my favourite top which is a size 14!

FluffedIt · 07/04/2017 21:59

I've been to 3 different groups over the years and all the ladies running it have been overweight! Yeah doesn't inspire confidence does it!

I would rather follow from home but I forgot how much I hated it and joined with a 12 week countdown! Lol my friend goes and was bugging me!

Blimey I take my hat off to you for twins! Dh's best friend has twins 3 weeks older than dd and I don't think she's slept since they came home!

Wreeey that's great! Well done groovee!

OP posts:
Groovee · 08/04/2017 17:37

I'm on Day 94! 6 more days to 100!

RubySlippers77 · 08/04/2017 20:37

Well done Groovee!! You definitely deserve a Halo will you keep going or start a new challenge after 100 days?

I'd join SW online but I think it's far too expensive for what you get, WW online is far better but I can't get my head around their points system. When I lost 2 stone (and kept it off for many years) I did it with WW but that was 15 years ago, and they've changed it quite a bit! I do prefer the SW 'ethos' but the WW website and online membership seems to be much better. Plus the WW consultants I met (three of them over the years) were all at target weight so who knows!

Oh gosh, yes, twins are little sleep thieves and no mistake Sad DS2 is a lot more chilled out than DS2 and as a result they tend to have different sleeping patterns, it's a right pain! I was thinking today about the reasons I overeat/ eat bad things and apart from craving sugar because I'm always so flipping tired, I also came up with:

  • what's the point in looking good because the boys don't care what I look like
  • no-one else sees me much and if they're a friend they don't care either what my weight is
  • I feel like my identity has changed from 'the slim fit one who goes to the gym a lot' to 'the one who stays at home all the time looking after babies'
  • OH is less than helpful in allowing me to go to the gym/ aerobics as I would desperately like to, and in generally making me feel ok about leaving the boys - he keeps saying I should leave them with his mum & dad more often, but if I do then he moans that I'm enjoying myself and spending all his money whilst he's at work

Oh blimey, I could go on but it's turned into a real rant of a post, sorry!! At least that's clarified some of it in my mind. Now to work on turning it around into something positive.....!

FluffedIt · 08/04/2017 21:06

My dh makes me feel guilty if i leave the house child free, even if it's going to Asda he doesn't say a word, but I know he's moaning on the inside. Twatface! Grin I'm going out on sat and going to deliberately stay out late!

OP posts:
RubySlippers77 · 08/04/2017 21:27

Do it Fluffed!! And have a Wine on my behalf! Grin

OH moaned on Monday evening because I wanted to go for a coffee with a friend after they finished work - he said it was the second time I'd gone out in two days. Which to be fair it would have been (I didn't go because I couldn't cope with the moaning) but equally it would have been my fourth child free outing this YEAR. For comparison, he's been out three times this week.....

Groovee · 08/04/2017 22:02

I need to work out days to my holidays. It's now 12 weeks so that will be my next challenge. But doing 9 cocktails to summer but will do more if that's what my body decides 😂

FluffedIt · 08/04/2017 22:17

9 cocktails to summer?! What's that?!

OP posts:
Groovee · 08/04/2017 22:24
