Joined my local group tonight. I've got 10st to lose but feeling optimistic. Any other newbies out there?

Hi beamme! Am loving the optimism, hopefully some of it will rub off on me!
I'm joining this week (the meeting i want to go to is on wednesdays). I'm aiming to loose around 2 1/2 stone. It'll be nice to have a buddy so we can spur each other on and swap ideas etc Smile x

emmaluvseeyore · 19/08/2015 11:02

I joined back in April but have about 10 stones to lose too! It is quite scary when you think about it like that, but I have set myself an interim goal to lose 30 kg (approx 4.7 stones). So far I have lost 12.2 kg (1.92 stones) which isn't as much as I had hoped but I am still happy with it. I have noticed an improvement my fitness which I am enjoying :)

Good luck with your first week!

beamme · 19/08/2015 11:34

Thank you both!

Tamara it would be lovely to have a buddy to go through it with Smile

emma that's such a great start. I've been inspired by a friend of mine who has lost nearly 10st in 18months, so it can be done!

I'm setting myself small achievable targets so I don't get disappointed. I want to drop at least 2 stone by the end of November (2lbs a week).
Good luck to you guys x

I've given myself a new incentive to drop the weight, we've booked a holiday abroad next summer Smile I'm planning to drop at least 5 stone before we go, although I'd really like it to be closer to 7.
I know it's only 2 days in but enjoying planning, eating and cooking. It's not been as difficult as I imagined and haven't been very hungry either.

I joined yesterday - had a good first day (I think..still not sure about whether or not I have to eat my syns or whether I can save them up) but really determined to lose my weight!

beamme · 20/08/2015 22:59

Glad we have another newbie to join the gang CrockedPot Smile
I think you can save some syns if you want, although I liked my Curly Wurly and French Fries today Wink

Hi, I joined in June and have a total of just over 10 stone to lose.
I weigh in this morning but up until last Friday I'd lost 1 stone 9.5lb (in 9 weeks)

I've not set myself any timescales for losing the weight but my interim target is to lose 6 stone. Anything after that will be mega!

beamme · 21/08/2015 09:44

That's fantastic MeltedMoments I hope I can achieve similar results.

I've just enjoyed a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast - yum! I used bacon medallions, fry light for the egg and the bread was my healthy extra b Smile

Hi everyone!
There's sooo many yummy food ideas on the website! Can't wait to try them all!
I tried the overnight oats yesterday, I wasn't that keen but then again i'm a bit funny with that sort of texture. Beamme, you've got me thinking about bacon and egg sandwiches now!

MeltedMoments · 21/08/2015 16:21

We had bacon butties at group this morning! All syn free and using our hexb of course! Grin

I lost another 3lb this week. So happy! It's a front number change for me too which looks wonderful!

Off on an all inclusive holiday next week though so no weigh in for 2 weeks now. I know I will put on while I'm away but will hopefully pull it back before weigh in again.

Lilydaisysmummy · 23/08/2015 14:40

I'm joining tomorrow and reckon I've got 2 stone to lose but worried I won't be able to stick to it!! Might be easier once little one goes back to school and I'm at work?!

beamme · 23/08/2015 23:05

Well done Melted Enjoy your holiday and back on track when you get home.
Hi Lilydaisymummy, I agree, less temptation when the children aren't home, fewer biscuits in our house!

Feeling proud of myself today. I had a road to trip to see the family and out of the house for 12 hours. Packed a cool bad full of fruit to snack on rather then the usual crisps and chocolate. Got caught out by a Waitrose Nicoise Salad at 6 and a half syns but had a jacket potato and beans for tea. Ended the day on 14 and a half syns, over the moon Smile

I'm so happy with my SW journey - have lost 2 stone since January and feel fantastic! I feel better than chocolate tastes Grin
Someone in my group has lost 11 stone, it can be done so good luck PPs Thanks

alphabettyspaghetty · 24/08/2015 11:47

I joined on the 8th january and i'm 5stone 3lb in.

I've struggled recently and am looking at starting again and sitting in on the new member talk and really getting to grips.

Can i join in even though i'm 7 months in?

madein1995 · 24/08/2015 12:28

I've lost 2 stone since January (coming off maddeningly slowly Hmm ) and have another 5 and a half stone to lose. It can be frustrating sometimes, knowing I've got ages to go so I'm not focusing on my target weight. I'm 14.10 now and want to be in the 12 stone bracket (so 12.13 at least) by graduation next summer. If I do that ill be 3 stone lighter than I was starting uni Grin

its definitely hard though. Also, I'm not a big fan of my home group - the group near me when I live at uni is fab but while the consultant at home is lovely, it's quite boring and not as much tips/chatting as in the other group. So I'm going to do it alone (and with the help of MN) for the next 4 weeks and rejoin back in uni town after summer. Have reliable scales over gym so will weigh in every Saturday morning Smile

pinkpepperpod · 24/08/2015 13:49

Please can I join you. I joined on Thursday and have ten stone to lose too. I could really do with some buddies.

beamme · 25/08/2015 22:13

Hi pinkpepperpod please join us Smile

Had my first weigh in tonight, 1.5lbs off. Quite disappointed as I was hoping for a high loss in my first week. Spoke to my lovely consultant who had a good look through my food diary. Nothing really stood out as wrong so she advised to try drinking more as I don't drink much and it's usually the wrong things like coffee and diet coke.
Hey ho, see how I go next week

OP posts:
pinkpepperpod · 25/08/2015 22:55

At least it's 1.5 off, Beamme, you should be proud of that. I can imagine how you feel though. Our group leader said to look at losses over a month instead of a week, so let's try to do that.

I'm like you with drinking. I started well on Friday and had a couple of big glasses of water, but since then I've just been drinking diet coke.

annielostit · 26/08/2015 08:04

Can I (re) join in. Been back on planGrin for 3 weeks. Have lost 2lb but there's been 2 weekends visitors & visiting in that.
I'm hoping new optimism may rub off on me.my weekends let me down, also the lack of inspirational consultants in the area.
I need to plan what's to eat today.
What's on your menus?

beamme · 26/08/2015 08:58

Thanks pinkpepperpod, at least it's off. My consultant suggested filling 4-6 500ml bottles with water, sugar free water/cordial and working through them during the day.

Hi annielosits, more the merrier here Smile I'm having scrambled eggs for breakfast, trying sw ministrone soup for lunch and turkey pizza melts with salad for tea.

annielostit · 26/08/2015 13:31

Thank you for the welcome beamme, I need all the help I can get.

beamme · 26/08/2015 13:36

I can thoroughly recommend the minestrone soup, although I added some chopped bacon and celery. Absolutely gorgeous and really filling, I'm still stuffed an hour later after just one bowl!

Lilydaisysmummy · 28/08/2015 07:09

I made the quiche yesterday - I really like it!! Took my daughter swimming yesterday with some other mums and afterwards they went to McDonald's... I resisted and went home for a pasta salad Grin
I'm only using around 9 syns as feel full and haven't wanted unhealthy snacks between meals - hope it lasts!!!

trinitybleu · 28/08/2015 07:32

I've just started and no idea how much I have to loose as I am now too heavy for the Wii, but a good 13 stone I'd say. This is day 4 and it's going ok. I try to save my syns and HEx's for the evenings. I also work from home a lot which makes breakfast easier but temptation worse!

pinkpepperpod · 28/08/2015 11:27

I lost 7lbs this week! I'm amazed because, although it's my first week and I have a hell of a lot to lose, I've never had a big loss like this before. Another woman at my group lost 9lbs, and she isn't even very big. I hope everyone else is having a good week
