Starting again today - anyone else?

I've been faffing around for the last few weeks, getting nowhere fast, but today I am starting again. I've got a gym induction booked for this afternoon so today is the day I start looking after myself again after almost five years of neglect.

I've not weighed as AF is due and I can't face it right now, but I know roughly where I am and where I want to be. It's about two stone anyway, give or take a few lbs.

I'm having Saturday off as I have a rare child-free day/night out that has been planned for ages, but rather than put it off til after that I think it's best if I get on it now.

Today's plan:
B: berries, fat free Greek yogurt
L: Jacket potato, tuna and cottage cheese, salad
D: Slow cooked chicken thighs in tinned toms and loads of random fridge veg, rice, cheese (HeA)
S: Options (2), 175ml full fat milk (6), 2 x Alpen bars (Heb)

Hi Chester , i will join you! I find it very hard to lose without the pressure of going to the scales at group each week though but i cant afford to go back. I could easily lose a stone , two would be better but probably unachievable for me. I think im about 78 kgs which i think is about 12st 4lbs. I have a wedding in 4 weeks so if i could get half a stone off by then i would be delighted!

ChesterDrawers · 17/08/2015 08:49

Half a stone in four weeks is definitely doable, Plum

I'm not going to group either. DH works away a fair bit so it's impossible for me to commit to a regular class. I was an online member, but have cancelled that, so I'll just be using my encyclopedic knowledge and Google!

shitebag · 17/08/2015 08:58

I'll join you.

I've been going to group since March last year and have lost 2.5st through them but lost 2st in the year leading up to joining so 4.5st total and now I'm bored!

I've been arsing around with it for the past 3 months tbh, losing and gaining the same 4lbs but I really need to get my arse in gear as I can feel old habits creeping back in and I only have another 2.5st to target which seems like nothing in comparison to what I've achieved so far!

I've decided to start a new routine today as our schools go back tomorrow so the alarm went off at 6.45am and I did 20 minutes of my Davina DVD which I plan to do 6 days a week.

Breakfast was 2 Weetabix (HexB), banana, milk (from HexA) and a pint of water.

shitebag · 17/08/2015 09:00

If you need any thing from the books or online let me know and I can look it up for you :)

ChesterDrawers · 17/08/2015 09:45

Thanks Shitebag, that's really good of you.

Ooh shitebag that really kind thanks - i still have all my old books that i can refer to , i dont get it when it changes - if it worked then why wont it work later. I do struggle to do extra easy , cant get mybhead round it

Lou13e · 17/08/2015 10:17

Chester - weigh, weigh, weigh!! The numbers may not be pretty BUT this is the last time you're ever going to see them, if you don't weigh yourself you'll not be able to celebrate a huge loss which you're bound to have next week. Go on.. X

shitebag · 17/08/2015 10:18

I think I'm lucky, when I joined Extra Easy was being pushed so I just went straight to it so its all I've known but when they brought in the new SP plan I was baffled!

stevienickstophat · 17/08/2015 10:20

I'm joining again today. I have about a stone to lose.

shitebag · 17/08/2015 10:21

At my last weigh in 12 days ago I was 13st 5.5lbs (my lightest has been 13st 1.5lbs).

Susienoz · 17/08/2015 14:07

Hi guys - I started back last week at 10 stone 10. I'm always fluctuating between 10 stone 8 and 11 stone and fed up with going up and down. I weighed this morning and I was 10 stone 8.5 so hoping I can get even lower this time. I have been 100% this week but my downfall is wine. I have not had any alcohol whatsoever but may indulge in some tonight as kids are with their Dad - I do have the syns left to allow. I wish u all luck in ur journey's - hoping to lose 1.5 - 2 stone for xmas

ResidentNevil · 17/08/2015 17:13

I'll join! had a terrible weekend so started a fresh today. I'm 11st 8lbs and my target weight is 10st 7lbs. I'm 5ft 10in and supposedly within healthy BMI so I know it will be slow but as long as it goes in the right direction I don't care!

Today -

Breakfast - Muller Light with grapes and melon.
Lunch - Chicken pasta Salad
Dinner - Sweet and Sour Pork.

I might have a couple of NICE biscuits later as I've hardly used any syns all day. My next weigh in will be Friday morning.

ChesterDrawers · 17/08/2015 18:41

Ooooh, people to chat with Grin

First day back is going well. Starving though and looking forward to tea in a bit.

Gym induction went well too, so hoping that will help with the motivation. Got a big birthday next summer and determined not to be fat AND 40! I'm stuck with my age, mores the pity, but I don't have to be stuck being fat.

Day two plan is identical to yesterday due to DH being away and me not having much time to shop. Off for my first proper gym session tonight too.

Still not weighed but AF arrived this morning, so might give it a few good days before I face the truth, maybe Friday. I know I'm about 11st 5 though, so not expecting much difference from that.

How's everyone else doing?

Hope everyone is doing ok. I'm going to struggle a bit today as I'm out over lunch time and DP is making meat pie for tea - 20+ syns easy!

I'm thinking I'll have omellette for breakfast to save my HEX B for lunch and take a wholemeal sandwich for lunch. Then for dinner I'm thinking I should bypass the meat pie and have one of my slimming world burgers!?

Susienoz · 18/08/2015 09:28

Had my bottle of wine last night (within my syns allowance) it was my treat for the week. Hopped onto scales this morning and was down to 10 stone 6 from 10 stone 8.5 - I'm not recording this weight though as I'm probably dehydrated from the wine. It would be fabulous if it was a true weight. Have been on plan for over a week now so I'm very pleased with myself ????

ZetaPu · 18/08/2015 09:29

I'd like to join please!
I need to lose at least 2 stone and get some energy back!
I feel so fat, unfit and unhealthy at the moment.
I can't go to a group either but can remember the plan.

Just a little tip for when I used to do it from before - if you're eating out, switch to calorie counting for that day and try to keep it within reason. You will still get a weight loss.

I need to shop and plan some meals. Can anyone give me ideas of nice veg and salad to have as your third? Need some inspiration.

ChesterDrawers · 18/08/2015 10:03

Can anyone help me out with the syns in Tesco Finest 10 Traditional Pork Sausages (667G) pack? They are 97% pork if that helps.

NVs per 100g are:

Cals 230kcal
Protein 16.6g
Carbs 0.6g
Sugars 0.5g
Fat 17.8g
Saturates 6.6g
Fibre 0.5g
Salt 1g

I will be eating three, assuming they are not through the roof on syns, so that's 200g by my calculations.

I've yet to even start, got wedding bank holiday weekend so plan to get to a class.

I did WW 4 years ago but it's all gone back on where I couldn't get to class and keep it up. Have found a SW one I can get to...

Is there a thread I need to join?

auntpetunia · 18/08/2015 10:32

Can I join. I've been doing sw on line since April and lost 1.5 stone. I've still got half a stone to go but found it very difficult over the summer holidays (am school staff) so around more to snack. I've had my holiday and out on 5 lb which in slowly loosing again. I need to get my head in order before term starts as I've bought smaller sized work clothes and chucked my old ones away!

chester according to the syns on line they are 4.5 each.

PontyGirl · 18/08/2015 10:36

Ooh can I join please? Smile

Been buggering around with SW for the last few months, I've lost 6lbs and pretty much kept it off, but I'm not on plan that much anymore and so my weight is at 11 st 4oz. I should be 9st 6 to 10st 2 for my height apparently.

how amazing are HiFi bars? They RUIN me Grin I can't seem to stop eating them. Healthy extra my arse Grin

auntpetunia · 18/08/2015 10:40

Forgot to say am also coeliac.

Lou13e · 18/08/2015 10:56

Re the sausages, the Tesco finest sausages range from 5.5 syns per sausage to 8 syns per sausage, be careful as finest usually means luxury which can mean fatty. X

ChesterDrawers · 18/08/2015 13:13

Thanks for the sausage advice guys, I am going to buy some Quorn ones for me to save syns, they are scarily high.

I did write a big post earlier but I think the site crashed and I lost it. Basically welcome anyone who wants to chat Grin
