Harimo · 28/05/2010 05:40

Why DO they get up so damn early???

HotSprocket · 28/05/2010 05:43

nooooooo

cyteen · 28/05/2010 06:24

Morning!

My turn to get up at 5am...what with this and the fighting bedtime, DS is missing out on quite a lot of sleep atm. As are DP and I, and more besides [wistful sex nostalgia emoticon]

The one saving grace is that DS is totally cute even at 5am. He also demanded breakfast straight away this morning...maybe he's waking up hungry?

Harimo · 28/05/2010 07:33

Ahh... one child!!! [wistful emoticon]... See, ONE child cute. Two children is hellish...

DS is 2 (just) and Dd is 10 months now and they just BICKER all morning. DS likes to cuddle this strange squirrel like teddy, which DD just WILL NOT leave alone, DS smacks her on the head and shouts NO... But, if DD should have ANY toy, DS will snatch it off her!!! [grr]

I have a rule here - no brekkie before 7:30. Having dealt with my DSD for over 10 years who would pile the pressure on fro everything (breakfast, getting dressed, going out!!!), the kids come and cuddle in my bed until 7:30 and watch TV (I'm just waiting for the fights to start about what wwe watch, because DS is a total trtranispotter!!)

Better go!! Hope you all have good days!

Harimo!

tinks27 · 28/05/2010 10:19

it felt like a lie in this morning.but in reality it was 5.30!! but it felt like a lie in!!! never thought those words would come from my mouth... ha ha

am still determined to find magical cure...[ fishes in special black bag for magical spell book, oh - and while we are there i will have spell for no snoring from hubby, thinner thighs and perfect teeth ]

Shaz10 · 28/05/2010 12:33

I had 3.30, 4, 5 and 6 this morning. He appears to be learning to crawl in his sleep, gets stuck and starts crying.

I gave up at 6 and brought him in with me. I got up at 7 for work (grr) and he slept in his cot till 8!

Tired now.

Harimo · 28/05/2010 13:00

Tinks - You give me a magic spell for thinner thighs and I personally will get up with your kids every night

shaz - that's annoying, especially when you have to go to work!!!

my two are both kipping for England... neither of them seems to have much problem sleeping in the day!!

cyteen · 28/05/2010 13:07

Funny that, Harimo - DS also sleeps like a log during the day, and goes down without a protest. It is the precise opposite of how things were a month ago. I remember the days when I used to moan about him being nap-resistant...on balance, I'd rather he still slept through the night.

turtle23 · 28/05/2010 20:11

Oops. We all slept for 2 1/2 hours this afternoon. DS1 refusing to stay in bed- wonder what time he will go to sleep and what that might do to our saturday morning....
(was so nice to get unbroken sleep for that long though)

turtle23 · 29/05/2010 03:44
  1. Have sent DS back to bed. Argh.
InmaculadaConcepcion · 29/05/2010 10:08

03.30 this morning...long resettling, then my cold kept me up and was just dropping off when...

Did I mention I'd already been up 3 times?

If I'd known you were awake, turtle, we could have amused ourselves on the thread together(!)

turtle23 · 30/05/2010 05:52

Woohoo! We all slept til 545! (Well...if you don't count the baby's night wakings)

tinks27 · 30/05/2010 09:28

5.20 this morning. But breakthough.... she actually went back to sleep for 10 mins between then and 6.30 when i got her up...

my husband made me laugh yesterday, when he said "right, what shall we have for lunch?" - i said - its only ten thirty!!!! he genuinely thought it was about 1.30!! but hey - when you been up since 5 - it actually IS lunchtime for everyone!!!

debka · 30/05/2010 09:41

O no, I wish I hand't read this thread...
DD is 14mo and usually sleeps till 7 ish (don't hate me!), but just found out I'm pg again and now I'm remembering the feeling of no sleep for nights on end- but this time round I'll have a toddler in the daytime too. AAAAA!!!

InmaculadaConcepcion · 30/05/2010 10:48

0500 this morning. DD resettled fine after a nappy change (bar a few dummy repluggings). Did I? Nope. Bloody IBS has thrown itself back in the mix too. Marvellous.

Eye-bag solidarity to all!!

tinks27 · 30/05/2010 17:35

inmaculada poor you. know the feeling and it aint good! (both!)

turtle23 · 31/05/2010 04:03

Sigh.

tinks27 · 31/05/2010 05:46

oh yes. the usual... that spell i cast has not done the trick at all

OnEdge · 31/05/2010 06:35

FFS ! Teletubbies !! want to go back to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, its so pointless. DS woke up with a big sloppy unnecessary teething poo ! Going to leave husband and daughter sleeping in, and when they are all up, i will slope off back to bed zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

chickenlickin · 31/05/2010 06:41

get a copy of the baby whisperer, worked for me!! Does take a while but may be of some help with sleep patterns! x

turtle23 · 31/05/2010 07:37

Chickenlicken- unfortunately for us severe eczema, illness and other problems mean that all the sleep training in the world isn't going to help.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 31/05/2010 10:43

Oh, turtle...

Wish I had only been up since 5. I've been awake since about 0200, first with DD being restless, then once I'd got her back to sleep, the good old IBS started playing up. I was just about relaxed enough to start drifting off again when DD woke up (0700ish...really frustrating. Never mind her, I need someone to teach ME how to sleep)

tinks did/do you have IBS too? It's such a bloody vicious circle!

whingemoangrumblewhinge.....

Harimo · 31/05/2010 12:35

Hi guys!

I was up again at 4:45!! What IS it with kids???? Still, we went for a massive walk this morning (even thou my DS is only 2, he never uses a buggy - walks everywhere) and now both of them are asleep in bed!! bliss!!!

What's everyone up to today? DH has gone back to work, so I'm trying to pretend it's a normal day, but everywhere we usually go is mental busy!!

HM

Harimo · 01/06/2010 04:50

So, am I first here this morning?

Have been up since 3:20... have finally got DS back to sleep but DD is going to be up any second now

HM
