meggy - hows your little man doing today?

ginger - how are you feeling now?

EP - how did last night go?

Tam - hi and how are your boys?

Skirmish - how are you feeling lovely?

Chibi - hows the GR going?

bealcain · 14/11/2007 08:22

second that Amber

Amberjee · 14/11/2007 08:33

thanks everyone, the thing i'm most worried about is when ds is going to get a nap and whether he's going to scream the place down due to overtiredness during my appointment,.

in all likelihood, yes!

ChubbyScotsBurd · 14/11/2007 10:04

Quick message as HV due any minute - took a lot of settling but slept 90 minutes yesterday evening, then I went to bed with him just after 10 and asleep again at half past. Didn't get his as far as cotbed again but he was really unsettled all night, either wind or he's getting my cold. Up and at 'em this morning though!

Good luck today Amber, hope LO is good too! And RoRo, I sometimes give in and go to my bed early, it can be lovely, but does make me yearn for longer sleeps

Thanks all for your kind messages on other thread, has been really helpful to me, feeling more positive all round today, in spite of snot .

MegBusset · 14/11/2007 10:05

Morning all, sounds like everyone's night was OK.

Ours was no worse than expected, cough kept waking him (and we're not allowed to give Medised until his breathing is 100% better), so fairly unsettled through the evening, then in bed with me at 11ish, after that it's all a blur of various coughing fits until up at 8am. But much more restful than a night in the hospital...

OP posts:
RoRoMommy · 14/11/2007 10:10

Amber, good luck at your appointment, and if DS screams just scream along with him! That usually shuts my DS right up and causes him to look quizically at me like, erm, mum, are you nuts?

Which, yes, of course I am.

Tibs you are such a sweetie. Seriously. I've kept up with your SIL's situation on the support thread and I want you to know that I am thinking of you, and her, and her boys. It must be so difficult for all of you, yet you're still looking after all of us, too. Unbelieveable sweetie you are.

Beal, not a bad night at all. How are you and DF?

Meg I hope DS is feeling better, and EP and Ginger, that you're both feeling better, and Skirmish that you don't feel too bad today, have a bath maybe! Tam, Chibs, CM, CSB, hope you had great nights, and I'll miss you all today as I am instituting a self-mn ban so I can get some work done!

[turns away reluctantly, enters office and slowly closes the door ]

EffiePerine · 14/11/2007 10:41

You still there RoRo?

CSB: we have had some serious screaming as well - thinks it's those wretched teeth. Got back late last night to find a tearful DS and frazzled DH. Another screaming session this morning as I was trying to get ready for work. He has to be picked up and held or he yells! It would be the week I'm working all week. Did have another work thingy this evening but have cancelled so I can get back early. He's waking loads as well and generally being El Grumpo. It can only get better! We are doubling up on calpol and nurofen (it does help in the short term) and generally trying to get through without killing each other.

The thing last night went well - was a lecture and v interesting. Hard to do these late nights though. Had to buy DH some emergency beer on my way home.

Amber: thinking of you today . I'm sure DS will get loads of attention at the clinic!

RoRoMommy · 14/11/2007 11:32

[pokes head in to say hi]

Hi!

EP, we're in the midst of mad teething as well...and DH also needed emergency beer by the time i got home. CM says DS will not be put down!

[sneaks back to desk unnoticed and commences working]

EffiePerine · 14/11/2007 11:54

Yup, sounds right (from comfort of desk). Think we will be breaking out the sling again.

skirmish · 14/11/2007 12:44

afternoon all

ds loves 'night garden' - though i seem to have seen all the episodes now!

ok night here though terminal crying fit at 10pm - don't know what was wrong though he was pulling at his leg (do babies get cramps?) sat in bed with us, and then back to sleep til 8am - so all in all ok.

I had a few slight contractions during the early hours so i've had less sleep than him! all stopped now of course!

tibs, i feel rubbish - constant achy pelvis and feel like my insides are going to fall out my fanjo by the end of the day!! how is your sil? and, how are you getting on with it all? (sorry for not posting yest about it )

megs yay for ds coming home

for the early risers out there - i feel your pain, esp worse now it's dark and cold!

for the sleepers

ds down for nap so time for choc/lounging about and trying to get organised for ds's 1st (where did that year go?!) hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine

EffiePerine · 14/11/2007 12:46

Cramps sound hopeful, Skirmish Did your last labour start like this?

skirmish · 14/11/2007 12:49

i can't really remember ep! but i was relaxing a lot more and certainly not on my feet rushing around like i am now! I did have 2nights of contractions before going to the hospital...so possibly the beginning of things (though this could go on for another few weeks yet!)

aarrgghhh!!! can't wait to stop wearing maternity jeans! (though think i am being a bit optimisitic to think love handles are part of the baby bump and therefore disappear once lo is born!!)

EffiePerine · 14/11/2007 12:51

ah but post birth you are allowed to wear pjs ALL DAY for at least a fortnight . Do you have help from your partner/family for the first couple of weeks?

gingerninja · 14/11/2007 12:54

CM we've got the bog standard IP, £4.99 from Tesco I believe.

RRM, I'm also trying very hard to ignore the draw of MN while at work because I'm seriously worried someone may check my internet usage and sack me. It is lunch time though.

Amber good luck for today

Tibs, I thik your lo will be sleeping through very soon. Such good progress.

CSB, haven't had a chance to comment on your other thread but have seen it. FWIW, I spent months going to bed with DD and got a bit resentful at times but that stage has (cross fingers) now passed. She rarely wakes in the evening these days and when she does it's rectified easily. Remember the SIFTW mantra, 'it is just a phase'.

Meg, for poor DS. Has his excema got any worse? DD's always seems worse when she's under the weather.

EP, my DD is being exactly the same at the moment. I was actually glad to come to work today because I couldn't face another day of her just sitting on my hip and moaning. I know she's poorly and the tooth hurts and all but there is only so much whinging my brain can take. I find it so hard to not shout sometimes. Yesterday I had to go into the toilet just so I could say 'just shut up and give me some bloody peace child' it helped because I came out a calm and nice mummy. When she's like that she won't even sit in the buggy so I have to humpf her around everywhere. Nightmare.

I got another night off, thanks to DH but still only slept until 5 (wonder where DD gets it from )

skirmish · 14/11/2007 13:00

ginger - we all have days like that!

ep - not much family close by anymore - my family all live in oz and dh's family have also moved abroad and/or live an hours drive away except for his sister who is round the corner so i don't feel too isolated and lots of people have offered to have ds to give me some time with new one

gingerninja · 14/11/2007 13:05

X posted. Skirmish, The prospect of going through the first year again so soon, you're totally hardcore. Did you actaully manage to wear your old clothes between one and two? Don't think I was out of my maternity stuff for ages. My DH said he used to get really achy legs as a nipper. Must be all that running around.

Amberjee · 14/11/2007 13:05

Hi Everyone!

How exciting skirmish, not that it's fun to go through labour, but I'm still excited for you.

Tibs, yeah, how you holding up love? will have a look at your other thread in a tic.

sounds like a lot of teeth coming through at the moment, i think we might have the 4th coming soon as a lot of drooling going on. thankfully ds not too grumpy about it (yet).

the checkup went ok, and they said nothing to worry about, though they couldn't explain to me what it actually was oh well.
ds didn't have a nap this morning, but you know, considering this and the fact he had to wait in a boring hospital for an hour with me, he was really well behaved. sometimes, just when you need it, these dc's come out with something that makes you think they understand what is going on and are supporting you in their own little way. bless him.

gingerninja · 14/11/2007 13:07

Amber, so that's the all clear then? I'm glad.

MegBusset · 14/11/2007 13:35

Amber that's good news.

Ginger, LO's eczema is actually looking good at the moment, apart from stubborn patches on his hands and legs.

Skirmish, am keeping everything crossed for an easy delvery for you.

OP posts:
RoRoMommy · 14/11/2007 16:54

Skirmish! Excitements. I remember the pelvis/etc. pains like they were yesterday. I went into labor during that movie the 300. Ha. Sorry to hear about DS's little leg cramp, I hope he's feeling better.

Ginger, I know exactly what you mean...I have the same fears re: my boss!

Amber, that's great news. for DS, what a good boy. Here's to hoping his fourth little tooth won't give him much trouble.

EP, I can't get my DS in a sling anymore. He thrashes about and cries something awful!

Meg, is your DS on the mend?

Beal, how's the house hunting going?

Tibs, Tam, everyone else, I missed you guys today (but, hmm, was remarkably productive).

On my own with DS tonight until DH gets home from moving his drum kit from the studio to his work blah blah blah...hoping to meet up with a mum friend and DS's little girlfriend...

So I probably won't post again until about, oh, say, 4:30am?

(((hugs)))

tibsy · 14/11/2007 17:09

roro - awww shucks

EP and roro ooops, and ginger for the teething. its hard when they dont want to let you go, but its nice that they get some comfort from the hugs.....obviously not when you want to go to the blardy loo

EP glad your lecture was enjoyable

amber my darling, i'm so, so pleased for you. thats great news!!!

meggy - hi!!! hope lo feeling better but for disturbed nights

skirmish wow i hope it all goes well for you. a new siftw baby, ahhhhhhhhhhhh. lots of love and big (((hugs))) to you xx

roro - i went into labour during 28days later...a zombie film we switched it off when the midwives came round tho, didnt think they'd appreciate it

oh, and a hi to tam hope you've been having a good day x

Amberjee · 14/11/2007 17:46

skirmish, i hope it's not a siftw baby iyswim!!

ds only had 1 nap today. i think i am more exhausted by that fact than he is...

Tamdin · 14/11/2007 18:20

still alive!
just up to eyes with final push on rennovation of our house. ds still sleeping well but like ginger's dd being a total moan these last few days. Patience wearing thin.

will rty to catch up properly tomorrow.

Amberjee · 14/11/2007 18:28

hope renovation going ok tam. nice to 'see' you.

ds currently laughing at iggle piggle and slapping the tv stand. you guys have created a monster!!

RoRoMommy · 14/11/2007 21:33

Girls, I couldn't stay away

Tibs, that is so freakin' cool I can't even stand it. 28 Days Later is one of my fave films. I think we're going to name our next DS (if it's a DS) Cillian...after the lead actor.

Amber, OMG, that's really funny. We ALMOST watched the night garden tonight but went to see a little friend of DS's (not his girlfriend, she was going to a book launch, she's so artsy and cool) instead. But I promise to report his reaction. I can't wait (erm, kind of).

Tam good luck with the renovation, I know from experience how that can try one's patience (and that's WITHOUT LOs running around!).

Good night! DS is doped up with Calpol/Nurofen, so hopefully we'll have a quiet night. Poor bear!

(((hugs))) night night!
