Hi all,
My son turned 8 weeks yesterday. He still wakes up every two hours during the night but these last two weeks he spends the whole day awake and crying. Today he woke up at 6 am from his last nap and he's still awake. I try feeding burping massage playing singing rocking everything I can but all he does is cry and squirm. I'm at a point where I'm crying everyday out of frustration and I don't know how long I can do this. Is it normal? Please some advice :(

@whyareyoulying we have tried everything you mentioned, plus every winding technique I've found.
We found a travel system on marketplace we'll get in on Monday. It has a bassinet, carseat and normal buggy seat, a stand for the bassinet and the rain cover etc the family used. We have a car seat already but ds likes being on it so I will put him on the new seat for Dr appointments etc

@EmilyDoesntKnowHerStuff gripe water made him worse :(
Did you find out what caused her wind? Was it allergy or something?

Dad had terrible reflux and she hated the bassinet but loved the car seat. In the end we got a wedge which seemed to help
Good luck

Oh no sorry OP 😔

I really wish I could give you a big hug as I know exactly how you’re feeling!

We stupidly never tried to find out what was wrong as we just thought that was normal for a baby ( mainly because whenever we said to anyone DD cries all day they would joke that’s what babies do 🙄). I wish I’d trusted my gut that clearly something was wrong!

For us, things improved when she went onto cows milk.. it was almost like all formulas didn’t agree with her (and trust me we tried everything! Including anti-reflux etc).

The only way I got through it all was to constantly walk around with DD in the pram. I remember doing laps round and round our house/garden just sobbing myself silly. Motion was the only way to get her to calm down or sleep.

I really hope you get some answers, it sounds like there must be something underlying distressing your poor baby. Frustrating I know when GPs etc keep fobbing you off!! Xxx

Did you try the allergy milk for 2 weeks? It’s not a good idea to keep changing the milk without the guidance of a HCP in case it is an allergy. It can take a while for the gut to heal and symptoms to settle. There are also other allergy millks available- we needed neocate for ours.

You sound isolated too. Do you have any family or friends to help you. Someone to take your DS for a walk while you sleep?
Can your DH take the baby for a drive as he arrives back from nights? Just some initial relief for everyone.

Are there any groups locally with workers or volunteers who could help you? I work in education, we have a few family support workers in the LA. Local Children's Centre? ( though many have closed down through lack of funding), parent groups?

Hi all sorry we had some difficult days.
We got the pram yesterday, the lady that had it lied about not having pets and the minute I touched it I developed an awful rash. After some Facebook stalking we saw that she has a dog so were taking everything apart to wash it.

Doctor didn't call yesterday so were waiting today. I will ask for carobel and to review the need for reflux medication. Ds has been upset again feeding every one hour and spitting out more than half of his feed. Today we took him on a long drive he slept a bit. @EmilyDoesntKnowHerStuff I hate when they say "" babies cry" dh is the same. For me it's not just sobbing, I'm also so irritable and take it out on poor dh who's doing his best and it causes a lot of tension. Hugs x

@forthplace we dont have family locally and all the friends we have don't take the virus seriously snf call me paranoid 🤷‍♀️

Oh dear that’s awful about the dog allergy. I do hope that when u can get out for some long walks you will both feel a lot better.
Do u think you will feel ok once you wash it thoroughly?
Do u mind sharing what kind it is and I am sure the knowledgeable reflux mums on here (my expertise limited to the non sleeping baby variety ;) will help with advice on how to make it as comfy as possible for your little one.
