Walk in/ walk out? How do you do it and what is it? Dd is too heavy for PU/PD. Have seen WI/WO on Babywhisperer website, but can't find out how to do it. Please help, before i go mad from lack of sleep....

fizz- he will not go down again when he wakes then. it is often around that time and i have tried everything, later bed, earlier bed, blackoutblinds etc. he does sometimes make it past 6am which, for me, is great these days ! trouble is, now he can move about and this morning when i went in he was wedged in the corner of his cot sitting (didnt know he could get from lying to sitting) and could not move. i had left him grizzling for about 15 mins and then felt really guilty. i guess he will adjust....maybe when winter comes, when he can crawl, when he can walk, when he is talking, when he has left home....when he........!!!

What happens if you put him to bed later over a long period of time, not just one or two nights?

Ds used to wake up at 5.45am EVERY day. I tried putting him to bed later which didn't work, but I didn't carry on with it IYKWIM. Other cleverer brains than me reckon if you stick at it for a few weeks then it works.

Also saw a thread on here a few months ago, about early waking. It said to move morning nap to a later time as it is really an extension of nightime sleep. What time does he go to bed at?

Dd goes about 7.45 and wakes up about 7.30 am. (Of course this will all change now I've written this.......)

Grizzling is very trying........esp in the morning.

Dd no longer called by her name, but is now known as Grizz or Grizzle....see if you can guess why?

She turns when she hears you say it, she thinks it is her name

the worst thing is that i have turned into an insomniac waking in the early hours wiht heart racing, adrenalin pumping etc. it is dreadful

Fizz how old is your LO? I have skimmed through the thread and can't find any reference.

I am huge baby whisperer fan did it with DS1 really successfully when he was just 8 weeks old and I discovered her on Discovery Health and now am in the middle of it with DS2 who is 12 months.

DS2 has been a very poorly baby so has slept on me for daytime naps since he was born and has never been a good sleeper at night due to him having severe reflux (prescription formula -still at over 12 months)

As you have mentioned "bed" rather than cot I am assuming your DD is at least 2. I have "The Baby Whisperer solves all your problems" where she goes into great detail about sleep and the different solutions for the different ages. I am doing PD only, ie my son is too heavy to lift so he stands and I just lay him back down.

I am happy to look what it says if you want just for interest. Have you seen her on Discovery Health? It is always good to see it in practice. I also have the NCSS which is the middle ground approach.
