Hiya
He woke once sounded thirsty so I popped in gave him some water while he was in the cot, he created a little when I left but soon went to sleep. He then woke up at 7.30am and this his his usual time for a feed!
Tonight we were a little out of the new routine, but I put him in his cot, said night night, came downstairs.......he cried for 20 minutes and is now sleeping soundly!
Went out for a cot bumper so I know he won't be banging his head as hard!!!
Thanks again for everything! I am so pleased we finally took the plunge, I think it is all about having the confidence to do it, set a day and just try it!

Todays report?

loopyredangel · 30/06/2006 00:00

He woke up at about midnight alst night because he heard us going to bed, but within a couple of minutes he was asleep.

He slept through to just after 6am - we just couldn't believe it!!! Again tonight he was a little out of the routine because his Nana and Grandad wanted to see him before they went on hols, but he was great - he had his bottle was a little sleepy - put him in his cot and usually by now he would have got up and started crying. He simply rolled over did a little whimper and is now away with the fairies! WOW!!!!!!!

Fantastic news!!!!!

Onwards and upwards from here on.

Occasionally they go through a phase where they seem to revert back to bad habits maybe once every 6-8 weeks. Just stick with the usual thing, do the same as you have this time round and within a day or two they will be fine again.

So pleased for you.

Thanks, will bear that in mind - just to let you know he slept through to 7 this morning! He took about 20 minutes of crying tonight, but he is now out for the count - got a feeling he will wake up when he hears me going to bed again, but I know he settles so quickly now!

Oh that is fantastic loopy. I am so pleased for you. Bet the improved sleep for you all is having a good effect already.

Diva......IMO 2-3 year olds go through a phase of doing this where they try and push and push to see what they can get away with. With my DD we had to show clear boundaries ie - "we'll cuddle, then i'll sing Twinkle Twinkle and then I am going". Then stick to it. Every time you give in to "just one more teddy/cuddle/water/etc" they will push and push the boundaries further.
