After three attempts to leave a message on this thread I have to start again.

Codswallop - you still have the hacking bronchial cough to come and total loss of interest in food to come. I'm sure it won't be long before DS2 catches another cold.

We were going to sleep in the lounge last night, got the inflatable bed out ready and then discovered the pump wasn't charged and which point we threw our hands in the air and went back to bed. He woke at 4am, bfight eyed and bushy tailed.

another night, but no final verdict till a week has gone by, methinks

pumpkin2 · 21/11/2003 17:27

Congrats M/I but won't say too much - don't want to count chickens or sleeping babes for you!

We had a horrible night - I've had a sickness bug last few days and poor old DS came down with it last night - didn't want to be fed, just throwing up at 10, 3 and 5 - and I couldn't really sleep in between as I kept wanting to check he was still breathing! He seems a bit brighter today tho and has fed normally so we'll see how he goes.

Pamina3, your story fills me with dread! Like your DD, DS is still exclusively b/f at the mo, trying to get to 6mos before weaning and also not good at taking bottles.... - loads of sympathy for you, I can't imagine how you must feel having such disrupted nights then having to go to work! Hope it calms down soon....

motherinferior · 22/11/2003 12:01

and again
(hope dawns in the Inferiority Complex?)

pumpkin2 · 22/11/2003 15:49

great news M/Inf

kaz33 · 22/11/2003 21:52

Don't get too excited MI - DS2 woke up last night at 4am - demolished a bottle and screamed and screamed that sound of excruciating pain. Some Calpol and a big cuddle and back to sleep at 5.30. Good thing was he then slept till 8am !!

Offer back on for ds3 - woke almst hourly last nihgt and then again at 5 30. Is a right old winger today and wont go back to bed - think he may be dropping morning nap for a huge chunky one

motherinferior · 23/11/2003 15:25

I am sorry, you two. And Pamina et al, how are you doing?

Refusing to count chickens but making hay, in delirious mixing of metaphors.

codswallop · 23/11/2003 16:15

its too much sleep now!

motherinferior · 24/11/2003 07:59

Well, she woke once last night, cried, comforted, went back to sleep. Think she's teething. Combined with flaming row with dp just before our bedtime, this does not make me feel triffic today

moominmama86 · 24/11/2003 09:09

Am a sleep-craving newbie - hope no one minds me butting in but would just like to say THANK GOD for this board - these messages have actually made me laugh which ain't happening very much these days

My 5-month-old ds was up 3 times last night - par for the course - and I'm slowly losing the will to live... Ah well, at least I now know there's others going through it too....

Lamin · 24/11/2003 10:10

mine was up about 10 times last night - moominmama know exactly how you feel I have officially lost the will to live, see "I would like to resign" thread.

codswallop · 24/11/2003 10:39

better here too - coughes till 9 then slept till 545 - was on time for school!

moominmama86 · 25/11/2003 08:52

OK, am officially death on a stick this morning. Ds woke FIVE times last night - 7.30(?!), 10.30, 2, 4, 5.15. Up for the day 6.30. What is going on?! He used to sleep 8 hours on the trot - aaaaargh!

Then again, he's making up for it now by being incredibly cute and trying to type along with me. Bless.

codswallop · 25/11/2003 09:41

is he on solids ?

Mine slep through! (at 8 blinking moths tho now)

Lisa78 · 25/11/2003 18:14

Mine's 3 weeks old and screams for hours - he starts btwn 5 and 8pm and goes on until btwn 2 and 4am. NOTHING seems to work, its really heartbreaking to see him so upset and not be able to console him. Made me laugh when the HV asked what contraception we would be using - we haven't even slept in the same bed since he was born, well we have, but not at the same time. I wish I knew how to console him - DS, not DH!

codswallop · 25/11/2003 18:16

Oh quick - get your yellow pages and reprt back

katierocket · 25/11/2003 18:20

i had 9pm, 11.30 then up at 3 and refused to go back to sleep - finally went back at 5.30 and then still got up at 7.30 - can't bl*y work out what's the matter. wouldn't mind but he's two - grrrrrr...

codswallop · 25/11/2003 18:24

2?!!

LOL

codswallop · 25/11/2003 18:58

Lisa - have you looked up cranial ostepaths yet?

Lisa78 · 25/11/2003 19:22

Don't know much about Cranial osteopaths - whats the thinking behind it? Anyone used it successfully and how do you find a reputable one?

codswallop · 25/11/2003 19:24

I went o osteopathy.org and also asked my osteopath(back probs..)

codswallop · 25/11/2003 19:24

oh and many a thread on ut - i was a complete sceptic but reckoned anything was better than the howling....

moominmama86 · 26/11/2003 09:10

we're doing cranial osteopathy at the mo with ds - if anything it seems to have made things worse!! Have heard lots of good things tho so will persevere...

He is on solids but I think this may be part of the problem - his sleep has gone right downhill since we started as he seems to be v. windy at night and this wakes him up! God knows what to do about that. His last solid feed is about 4pm and bedtime is 7pm - maybe I should make the feed earlier???

Anyway, last night was vintage. Bed at 7, up at 7.15, 9, 9.45 (for 2 hours), 2, and 4. Up for the day at 6. Am walking dead and he's in a foul mood. Oh well, la-di-dah

codswallop · 26/11/2003 09:30

I would feed later!! Osteopathy made ds2 worse first then better.

Bad night here 3.40 - 4.30 he messed around
