After three attempts to leave a message on this thread I have to start again.

Codswallop - you still have the hacking bronchial cough to come and total loss of interest in food to come. I'm sure it won't be long before DS2 catches another cold.

We were going to sleep in the lounge last night, got the inflatable bed out ready and then discovered the pump wasn't charged and which point we threw our hands in the air and went back to bed. He woke at 4am, bfight eyed and bushy tailed.

Has a 3 30 habit now...grrrrrrrrrrrrr

oliveoil · 11/11/2003 09:40

Put dd down last night to hysterics. Picked her up and she smiled. A HA, I thought, trying it on. Put her down and 15 mins of HELL listening to crying and holding dh back from going upstairs and feeling like the worst mum, she fell asleep. Then woke up at 1am. I was soooo tired and full of a cold that I just took her in the spare room with me. I give up.

motherinferior · 11/11/2003 13:00

It's the unpredictability as well.

Dd1 playing up from time to time as well.

AAAAAAARGH.

CountessDracula · 11/11/2003 13:06

oliveoil I used to do that with dd. Don't worry she sleeps well now.

kaz33 · 12/11/2003 14:44

AAAARRRRGGGHHH. After two glorious nights she wailed repeatedly last night, choosing of course the night mummy and daddy had actually had friends round for dinner and had an extra glass of wine...

codswallop · 13/11/2003 09:18

showdown with ds3 I went to sleep in the end

pumpkin2 · 13/11/2003 13:55

2 horrible nights here - think he is teething as even though in desperation on night 1 I gave in and fed him at 2am, he wouldn't settle. Last night - 2am again, then 5.45 but at least we weren't up for 2 hours like the night before.....

motherinferior · 13/11/2003 16:20

Isn't it awful when you feed and it STILL doesn't make a difference and then you're convinced they'll wake regularly for a feed at some ungodly hour and when oh WHEN is this going to sort out...

...not that I'm obsessed or anything...

codswallop · 13/11/2003 16:24

how old now Mi?

kaz33 · 13/11/2003 17:35

Coddy, still sleeping through ?

I think we need a definition of sleeping through - 7pm to 7am maybe, that would be my definition I think.

No woke up and dicked about - yes - deffo In my case its 6 - 6

Now we have got over the cough its teeth seemingly

motherinferior · 13/11/2003 19:03

20 weeks, coddy. Quite old enough IMO.

kaz33 · 13/11/2003 19:50

Hi MI, i ditched the dummy yesterday. Have got an alternative, first years thing that plays waves and heartbeat. He seems to like the heartbeat, it also has a sensor so switches on if he wakes up and starts "dicking" around.

DS2 is 5 and a half months and it doesn't seem to be stressed by no longer having a dummy. So MI, don't get stressed if you havent done it yet - doesnt mean that it will be hard. Do it when you are ready.

not ready for anything today except possibly euthanasia (mine not hers)....normal service will be exhumed as soon as possible....

pumpkin2 · 14/11/2003 20:04

Completely fed up here - have in laws staying so great support except because I feel I can't have him making noise at night etc we are now right back in the habit of a 2am feed that I got him out of 8 weeks ago, having to be rocked/fed to sleep - etc etc.

To top it all we have just had the screaming hab dabs after his bath , not wanting to go to bed then getting horrendously overtired, culminating with him finally settling when rocked to sleep by his gran.

So now who feels like the worst most incompetent mother on the face of the earth as well as being completely knackered. I am so frustrated and fed up with this motherhood lark and always looking like a complete idiot when we have family around. Then of course he smiles and I love him to bits.

Most of the time he's actually quite good - not that I think anyone believes me!!!!
Sorry for the rant

motherinferior · 15/11/2003 11:46

Nah, pumpkin, I'm worse than you. Much much worse. I'm not joking.

tiredemma · 15/11/2003 16:04

hes 4 1/2 mths old and has taken to waking every hour from midnight.
im like the walking dead.

pumpkin2 · 16/11/2003 09:56

Thanks Motherinf, I'm sure you're not!
Have been rereading GF this am as I think we now have formed a sleep association prob - he was up for 3 1/2hrs last night which he never does and is basically now getting strong enough that if he does go beyond tired he can stay awake for ages!!
Grandparents gone home today bless 'em so trying to get back into normal routine
