After three attempts to leave a message on this thread I have to start again.

Codswallop - you still have the hacking bronchial cough to come and total loss of interest in food to come. I'm sure it won't be long before DS2 catches another cold.

We were going to sleep in the lounge last night, got the inflatable bed out ready and then discovered the pump wasn't charged and which point we threw our hands in the air and went back to bed. He woke at 4am, bfight eyed and bushy tailed.

Well ds slept from 11.30 to 7.15. Thank heavens. Now he needs to make a habit of it...

How was your night PPH? Did ds settle or scream?

kaz33 · 22/10/2003 12:28

Woke at 3am, slept till 6.15am

well, from the ridiculous to the sublime. bed at 6.30, quick feed at 10pm, and then slept like the proverbial baby until TEN PAST SEVEN!
hurrah hurrah hurrah hurrah hurrah hurrah hurrah hurrah

of course I was awake from 5.30am convinced he was about to wake for a feed any second, but still! I feel human again...

Beccarollo · 22/10/2003 17:26

kaz33 · 23/10/2003 17:09

DS2 up at 4.30am as normal - DS1 awake at 5am, mangaged to persuade him to go back to bed till 6am - but then both kids up. AAAaAaargh, CBeebies at 6am over breakfast - not what you need.

OP posts:
codswallop · 23/10/2003 17:26

mine woke crying at 5 am - as informed by ds2! sent him back to bed and then bf ds3 ( couldnt be arsed to get bottle) froever. both went back to sleep till 7

princesspeahead · 23/10/2003 18:18

another 10 hour stint last night from the little one! hurrah.
however ds1 decided that the day started at 5am this morning. had him squirming in my bed saying "is it the morning yet" until I couldn't bear it and he got up at 6.30. sigh

lubu · 23/10/2003 18:59

Still on 4 am feeds (can this be right for a 7+mth old?) Offered her a nice refreshing cup of water and she just looked at me and said "don't be silly mum, get yer knockers out!" After feed she went back to sleep until 6.00am.

I can't even put her to bed later than 7.00pm as I just can't keep her awake any longer than that. 6am is such a horrible time of day. For some reason I can cope with 6.30/7.00am but 6.00am still feels like the middle of the night - bizarre!

motherinferior · 23/10/2003 20:41

Have to say we're getting quite a few 5am wakings. And last night was quite vile.

mears · 23/10/2003 21:55

codswallop - you amaze me. I thought the otherday you had stopped B/F. You love it really, don't you? On the wine (white) again, sorry for any offence

codswallop · 24/10/2003 08:07

Blinking baby.

screamed from 9 pm till 11 pm. eve (mears ) bf to try and shut him up - its emergency only....(!)

then had the cheek to wake again from 3 - 4 am

UP FOR SALE

codswallop · 24/10/2003 08:08

should read - even

lubu · 24/10/2003 08:46

Sorry, I have to say my night was better. Just one feed at 4am and then straight back to sleep until 7am. But I did give her nurofen to go to bed on and calpol when she woke at 4am. She has got a stinking cold I am not just drugging her for the sake of it - honest!

One morning we will all post to say how refreshed we feel after 8 hours uninterrupted sleep

codswallop · 24/10/2003 09:16

cant believe that. ds1 and 2 are off to Mils for 3 nights so may try cc again.

mears · 24/10/2003 09:21

codswallop - any chance he has an ear infection if he was screaming and has been poorly? He may well have blocking of his eusacian tubes (? spelling) which can cause pain.

mears · 24/10/2003 09:24

Eustachian is correct spelling.

codswallop · 24/10/2003 09:24

seems fine in the day. he is on day 4 of anti biocs for a chest infec and the last two noghts have been a lot better.

mears · 24/10/2003 09:26

Could have pain in his ears then - chest and ear infections kind of go together at times. Have you tried him with calpol going to bed as well as antibiotic?

mears · 24/10/2003 09:27

The ear pain comes when they lie down - is he more upright during the day by any chance?

codswallop · 24/10/2003 09:30

will try that. I think he wanted to be cuddled too.

i have been giving him calpol at night because of his fever but thought he was better last night so will try that tonught,

dont need to take him back to drs do I?

codswallop · 24/10/2003 09:33

Mears? have you shuffled off to that wine bottle again?

mears · 24/10/2003 09:36

No you don't, unless he still has a temperature. The antibiotics should have worked by now. He might have sore ears though and Nurofen might be better than calpol because it lasts 6 hours instead of 4. You can also intersperse calpol and nurofen. As long as he is feeding and improving, you don't need to take him back.
