Please??????????

Three - sorry i'm being thick, what do you mean 2 main posters??

whether troll or not (and you can surely troll even though you have met real life other posters) everyone needs to remember only to give as much emotionally/physically as they can afford to lose.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 01/07/2010 14:47

Three means that the other longstanding posters vouching for her are also namechangers, and there's only two of them.

But that's not right; many of us know who she is, and are silent.

Headbanger · 01/07/2010 14:48

I have reported the thread on the basis that either a) it was trolling (the allegations of police corruption are potentially very damaging, not only to the police's huge efforts to encourage women to report domestic abuse, but also to other women who would then be discouraged from getting the help they need), or that b) the situation is so very serious, with her life endangered, that a public forum was not an appropriate place for debating it.

I honestly hand-on-heart cannot say which option I most earnestly believe. If she is genuine, then I sincerely hope that MNHQ are seeing to it that she gets the help she needs.

FlappingintheBreeze · 01/07/2010 14:48

ALso, she has turned down all offers of help. She seems to have been using mumsnet purely for emotional support. I do think she's genuine.

GypsyMoth · 01/07/2010 14:48

oh sorry...meant the op and the one she's in text contact with 'can't' something or other

ilove · 01/07/2010 14:53

I was in her situation 18 years ago, and had no help...I am worried about her

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 01/07/2010 14:55

namechanghers and longstanding posters.....all capable of trolling or not, means very little in a place like this....gives no credence, sorry

Well let's all hope she is a troll then. Because the thought that we've cut off a life-line to someone in her situation is too horrible to think about

lets wait and see eleanor?? i doubt we'll find out....mnhq dont usually come back with a story do they?

DeFluffy · 01/07/2010 15:00

Eleanor - I've never seen you so patient before? Have you been taken over by aliens??

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 01/07/2010 15:01

Boxroom is still here, and is posting under TheRealPerson, and has said she still needs help and her situation is and was real.

GypsyMoth · 01/07/2010 15:01

did they ever say much about dizzymare....she was a longstanding poster too

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 01/07/2010 15:01

and why don't they pull the thread? Instead of leaving posters worried about her needlessly?

HelenMumsnet · 01/07/2010 15:10

Hello.

We have been in contact with dismantlethesun and she's taking an MN break.

She's told us she is OK and getting some good RL support, as so many of you so brilliantly and so sensitively advised her to do.

She wanted you all to know how much your advice helped her make decisions that she's sure will change her life for the better.

She is free to come back to MN when she's ready.

I do think HQ need to communicate a bit more effectively, I totally trust them to make the right decision but lots of people have contributed to that thread and deserve to have a vague idea of what is happening.

It's not like people need specifics, just either, evidence it's a troll or banned due to request from OP etc.

Mouseface · 01/07/2010 15:11

Thank you Helen.

Headbanger · 01/07/2010 15:13

Thank you Helen - good to hear she is getting the help she needs. That being said I would rather she had been a troll, as I would rather all that had not happened to someone

Ledodgy · 01/07/2010 15:13

I agree with those who are saying leave it to MNHQ. They do not normally block when it's just a matter of someone shouting troll. There is probably more to this.

Ewe · 01/07/2010 15:13

x-posts! Perfect Helen, thank you.

Ledodgy · 01/07/2010 15:13

OOPs sorry I wrote that then got a phonecall and came back and pressed post without seeing Helen'es update!

DeFluffy · 01/07/2010 15:13

Thanks Helen, but can I ask why she was banned then?
