Mumsnet fair.. do you do this already?

I've never been involved in rl mn activities so apologies if I'm talking about something already in place.

Have you ever considered a Mumsnet mela?

It's a type of fair, not just a meet up. So if one can imagine, there's a big hall or marquee, and, say, your regular advertisers set out stands. Plus any new ones that fancy getting involved. PLUS all of us who have an axe to grind, or a product to sell, or a charity to promote, or a public campaign etc etc etc could take a stall too. Don't you think it would be great? Tech could have a help desk , Tsarinas could have a corner and so on. There could be a small business corner -- I mean, just like mn but in 3D. And open to the public.

Is there any point to this? I think it would be great. I'd go.

ooh, buggy racing, what a great idea.

what about instead of knobbly knee competition we could judge the best c-section overhang.

and biscuit eating competitions.

JustMyTwoPenceWorth · 17/04/2010 11:18

Not really. We have trains. and roads. and buses.

Hold these events in london and if you live at the top of scotland you would travel, what? 700 miles? Hold it centrally and nobody travels more than a few hundred.

Nevergoogle · 17/04/2010 11:20

and we could see who can assemble a travel cot the quickest. and who builds the best wooden railway (that's me btw)

We could have a 'Call My Troll'-style panel show where we get to spot boxroom posts

I would go head to head with Reality

CheerfulYank · 17/04/2010 15:37

If this ever actually materializes, I will sell a kidney in order to afford the plane ticket.

I'll bring cupcakes with frraawwwsting.

JunoWatt · 17/04/2010 17:50

ill have a stall where i can freely offend you only by having an opinion

i will call it i am right

MrsChemist · 17/04/2010 18:01

Central is better distance wise, but public transport-wise, the larger the place, the easier it is to get trains, buses and planes there.

Then again, I'm from Manchester, so Manchester would be awesome
