So, MNHQ, bedecked in LKBennett (and Boden for the plebs) are all out stuffing pizza and Bolly, half of the posters and hangers-on are there too: what mischief shall we get up to while they're away?

Because I bet they've just left BigTech in charge. Or he/she'll be checking in every once in a while, a bit pished and lairy.

So we can DO. WHAT. WE. LIKE. while the Leaders party.

Yes, you're right! My children are living on half-rations.

Pofacedagain · 04/03/2010 23:40

nice shoes onebat

Spoof · 04/03/2010 23:43

Gord, Sarah, if you are reading, I'm just joking. [paranoid]

onebatmother · 04/03/2010 23:45

lol
shit I really must do my work. Night all
Je ne Magritte rien.

BuzzingNoise · 05/03/2010 00:42

Morning all. I've just caught up with your chatting while I have been drinking catching up with EastEnders.
Bumperlicious, your hubby was really unfazed by the amount of drunk women. I didn't realise it until someone pointed it out. My DH is really quite disappointed that he couldn't make it, although my friend is still pleased because she got to come instead! She might even become a convert to MN now

Oblomov · 05/03/2010 06:30

Have re-considered my posts from last night re getting the PM to come to the party. A thread in chat celebrating the 10 yrs of Mn party should only have messages of congratulations on it.
it was not the time or the place.
apologies for that.

largeginandtonic · 05/03/2010 07:18

You were all very tall. I felt positively minature (until Annabel Karmel arrived)

Pofaced it was a shame you had to dash off.

I have a crush on Anguis now. I keep talking about her to everyone She was so lovely.

GB was very warm and friendly. Wish i had got to speak to SB too. I hope she is on here.

Rubyrubyruby i hid from the cameras quite well i think [hopeful] AT every opportunity i threw you in to the direction of the lens. There must be LOADS of you

I missed the sweet

NumberOneEnemy · 05/03/2010 07:38

right
cods great idea is now ready to send to anyone who will listen
number 10

lol at urinating in doorways

tbh a suprising number of men haev criminal convictions ( and often dont tell wives!)
but also a suprising amount have realy dodgy ones - like for sex offences YEARS ago...

i know!

maybe i should put policy idea on ebay.
tbh its not so amazing at all but might help out vicitms of crime...

noddyholder · 05/03/2010 07:49

oblomov i like your style

MmeLindt · 05/03/2010 07:57

Good post Oblomov.

I like PW never notice how tall people are since most of them are taller than me anyhow.

Anguis · 05/03/2010 08:25

I thought that Cod must have been telling GB to go around saying 'I've got a really great little policy that will cost nothing to implement, but I'm not going to say what it is. Just vote for me and you will see.'

LG&T you are v kind and lovely and serene. You should be 2.5 less times serene than me, bcs of out relative numbers of children, but in fact it is the other way around.

Bumperlicious · 05/03/2010 08:39

No probs Oblomov

Buzzingnoise, yes DH was pretty unfazed though he was a) pretty hammered (just quietly so) and b) has a very highly strung mother (and MIL), 3 very matriarchal sisters, oh and me as a wife and a mini me as a daughter, so a night with a bunch of lively mumsnetters is a walk in the park for him , he does seem to have gained a new found respect for MN. We'll see how long it lasts...

Buzzing, your friend was very lovely, I hope she does venture over here.

LGT&T and Ruburubyruby I hate to disappoint you but you can very clearly be seen in the background of Onebat's interview pretending not to notice you are on camera and occasionally pointing at it

BuzzingNoise · 05/03/2010 08:47

I shall tell her you said so. I don't see enough of her these days as we are at opposite ends of the country, so it was lovely to catch up with her. And it certainly made a change from us catching up in a Wetherspoons

I bet you find your DH secretly MNing one day soon.

fanjolina · 05/03/2010 08:59

email me your idea cod

fanjolina · 05/03/2010 09:03

oops- should have said please . was forgetting my manners in rush to surrepticiously post from work

SoupDragon · 05/03/2010 10:11

Anyone want to send me a google pen and a box of goodybag chocolates? [hopeful]

Spoof · 05/03/2010 10:14

Yes, I'd like to see your idea too please. I promise not to steal it.

WilfSell · 05/03/2010 10:53

Onebat, I LOVE those shoes. You see, in real life, you and I should be sisters. Or married. Or summat.

Well I have just managed to watch the speeches and came over all shivery. Carrie and Justine - you should both be very proud of yourselves.

I would disagree with one point of Sarah Brown's speech. Mumsnet has not just made a difference to women in Britain but around the world. There are lots of us 'overseas' Mumsnetters who use/depend on/enjoy MN. And it has made a difference to lots of mothers not in the UK. I discovered MN through the Mums the Word tv programmes which I watched as I was living in Bulgaria with a young child and none of the support that I would get in UK. Discovering MN was fab. I lurked for a long time and finally started posting 5 years ago. And am still here.

Agree that this thread should be moved from chat and saved for posterity and to be dragged out at MN's 20th birthday party.

hunkermunker · 05/03/2010 16:05

I think blinking well done to MN, MNHQ and happy 10th birthday!

I am just glad Justine and Carrie didn't Gwyneth all over the PM. Would've been unseemly

GeraldineMumsnet · 05/03/2010 16:16

Lots more pix of cake, shoes, slebs, mingling etc here in a rather tasteful gallery

hunkermunker · 05/03/2010 16:24

What lovely pics!

Pofacedagain · 05/03/2010 16:29

Lovely pics. Actually feel gutted that there is a photo of every single Mumsnetter there except me. And I really did try to scrub up and look smart. Can't believe I am so gutted. Oh well.

2010aQuintessentialOdyssey · 05/03/2010 16:32

Lovely slide show.

I especially like the way the branding Google and Mumsnet were juxtaposed.

wonders.....

I sense a "strategic partnership" on the horizson....
