As some of you may know, this is our tenth year in existence and we thought it would be nice to put together a list of the top ten MN moments during those ten years - obviously not all of you are as old in the tooth as me but everyone's thoughts welcome.

So by way of a starter for ten here and distinctly off the top of my head (so don't shout if I've missed you out!) are some of our most memorable moments/mn events...

Feel free to violently disagree add your own - am sure, being so decrepit we've forgotten loads.

In no particular order...

Christening of SWMNBN and MP's apology for rockets gag
Mile 4 Maude
First live birth
Christmas appeals generally
Biscuitgate
bottom butter
tim dowling and wife - hammering it out on MN
David Cameron's massive panniers
AIBU generally
Pirate sex
Misdee and Peter and the heart transplant
Is that UCM?

The thread that made me fall in love with MN was BOF MNing whilst still in the 'throws of passion' with DP. Here is the link.
I also very much enjoyed the grotty MNers thread. But I like that because I was hilarious. (Have since name changed)

Shiney's Healthy Eating Thread is fabulous too.

coppertop · 13/01/2010 18:42

WigWamBam and her mad MIL's presents each year.

Lavenderr and her dp trolling every Sunday night

The sexual technics thread

The poster who tied her phone to her head with a pair of tights so that she could multi-task while on the phone

The annual visits from Lapland UK spammers and the slightly dotty Dotty.

Bunglie and her dd.

Following Kewcumber's blog during the Christmas where she adopted her gorgeous ds.

ShutUpandDrinkYourGin · 13/01/2010 18:42

all the ones I can think of have already been mentioned - and so many I'm gutted to have missed!

more recently, treedelivery's egg donation thread is lovely

MollieO · 13/01/2010 18:44

Lots of different ones but the one that stands out for me is the couple of bits of shopping one by Starsnstripes. I think it personifies what is best about MN and the fabulous support of lots of MNetters in particular DreadPirate.

What about the poster who couldn't get birthdya presents for her son and everyone sent things? Was she called Fairyfly? thsi was a loooooong time ago. And Spook finding love after loveratfink husband...

coppertop · 13/01/2010 18:56

Are we allowed to mention the weekend of the big MN meetup when a certain SWMNBN turned up on MN?

nomorecake · 13/01/2010 18:56

my all time favourite thread is funniest bits of childbirth -its already in classics.

it actually calmed my nerves about giving birth to dc1!

lowrib · 13/01/2010 18:56

"As imaginary friends go, I think Mumsnet is better than God."

  • Cicatrice on the thread "AIBU to only just find this site and now cant seem to move my arse off the chair!"

It's a recent one - and slightly off topic as it's a quote not a whole thread - but it's a classic IMO

Bleenherbe · 13/01/2010 18:59

There was an extraordinarily funny thread arising once from someone's efforts to sell old bras. But it was quite mean.

SkipToMyLou · 13/01/2010 18:59

Starsnstripes and her bread and milk thread, plus everyone who helped her get out (I'm looking at YOU DreadPirate) - and all the pompom wavers!

Shiney's penguin thread, I still ROFL in the supermarket.

British Gas thread, read it after the event and HOWLED.

Trouble is I'm relatively new to anything ouside of Allergies, and I always seem to miss the good stuff. Love all the troll threads, I tend to just lurk'n'snurk.

Not being funny, and bound to get flamed, but....isn't this a teeny bit cliquey? I've been on and off mumsnet for ages, and always avoid the 'favourite mumsnetter' etc threads as they feel like they are exclusive. It's quite an injoke place already - I wasn't part of any of the things I've scrolled through - it makes me feel like I may be a member but I'm not allowed in iyswim? Just a thought - I have noted other posters saying similar at times. Sorry, shall leave you all to it.

wicked · 13/01/2010 19:02

Not as wholesome as the threads mentioned by the OP, but I PIMP at some threads -

self-actualisation
the mum's knickers in the lunchbox
wiping oneself on the bedroom curtains
and loads more

wuglet · 13/01/2010 19:03

That hysterical joke one about someone's dh enjoying himself with the kitchen utensils. Hilarious.

Milliways · 13/01/2010 19:06

this wind up

maduggar · 13/01/2010 19:07

grumpypants - a lot of these have happened in the past year, I remember a lot of them

bellavita · 13/01/2010 19:07

What about the ARSE DOCTOR?

BendyBob · 13/01/2010 19:07

Lol grumpypants..it's cliquey to reminisce?? Most of these you can still re-read anyway...
