Missing pages - can YOU help us track them down?

So, ever since BigTech made his new releases (which incidentally still have a few wee glitches to sort, before you shout) we've noticed that folks are clicking less on all the Talk topic home pages eg this one. In fact you are collectively clicking on those roughly half as much as you used to and we're completely stymied as to why. Don't spose any bright spark out there has any ideas about what might have changed?

(There's a pack of Christmas cards (or three) by way of reward for anyone whose information leads to the discovery of our lost pages...)

Are you counting/monitoring what we are all clicking on Justine? It's a bit nosey don't ya think.

ThisBoyDraculaDrew · 16/11/2009 21:15

Tech's counter is or was broken...so actually we are clicking on them with the same frequency - it was just counting wrong?

Is there any (techy) way that each click could have been counting double before?

Mumsnet is so slow at the moment, that once I've done a couple of rounds through "active convos", I now give up. I used to check through a couple of additional categories via the talk topic home pages, but everything's taking so long to load at the moment, that I don't bother.

TrillianAstra · 16/11/2009 21:24

I always go via 'threads I'm on' or 'active' rather than the topics themselves.

I think 'broken counter' is a good answer.

Bloody hell, what are you lot like in MN Towers? Has the Xmas sherry made an impromptu appearance? Did Tech get his mitts on a shandy at lunchtime?

Lenin - thank you - so much faster without the www!

moaningminniewhingesagain · 16/11/2009 21:33

Lenin - I just tried that and mumsnet.com seems to be much faster to load pages than www.mumsnet.com.

How bizarre! And now all threads are looking unread because I usually come via favourites direct to www.mumsnet.com/talk then either into 'active' or 'I'm on'

Hang on, hang on - it's just got much faster because YetMoreTech's had to turn all the ads off - one of them was stalling and slowing the site.

FluffysBeenBittenByAVampire · 16/11/2009 21:35

Google's sh*te then isn't it!

YetMoreTech · 16/11/2009 21:36

She speaka da trutha... www.mumsnet.com and mumsnet.com (without the www) are one and the same. It's like calling your DS "Steve" when his full name is "Steven". He is still the same little bugger angel.

JustineMumsnet · 16/11/2009 21:37

Well personally I'm rather a fan of Google (aside from their policy towards China naturally) but each to their own.

OP posts:
Uriel · 16/11/2009 21:37

It's still faster...

Biscuit
SoupDragon · 16/11/2009 21:38

Is it because when BigTech* stuffed everything up made the improvements, you couldn't click on the topics separately and no one's noticed it's been fixed.

*Is there a LittleTech?

morningpaper · 16/11/2009 21:41
JesusChristOtterStar · 16/11/2009 21:43

maybe we can only click on it half as much beacuse it's SO DARN SLOW!!!

JustineMumsnet · 16/11/2009 21:43

Ta for that MP
