Why does the remember me logged in not work?

Empty your Temp Files, delete your history and cookies.

Then run a virus/spyware check

add mumsnet to your secure sites

Then reboot.

see what happens.

It sounds like you have set Firefox only to accept a certain type of cookie.

Look at Tools->Options->Privacy and make sure 'Accept Cookies From Sites' and '[Keep Until] They Expire' are selected, and 'Always clear my private data when I close Firefox' isn't. Click the 'Help' button on that dialog to find out more about all these settings.

have already done all of the above - and it's still logging me out (all other websites that I "keep me logged in" on are fine though )

Same as FAQ...have already all of the above last week, several times.

However "remember me" is not working on several other sites either.

are either of you logging in from the same or different computers?

If i log in from my mothers, my own logs me out.

Try changing your passwords incase someone else is logging in with your account from somewhere else.

Stripey, I delete temp files/clear cookies/history on a regular basis. I use Spybot/Adaware/AVG and no sign of anything suspicious.

MrV, firefox options are all okidoki, have rechecked several times!

exactly the same computer, every single time. Unless ShelleyLou is logging in as me from her computer there's no-one else it could be as I've never logged in from anywhere else

rarely log in on someone elses computer (and if I do, I always log out, and unclick remember me).
I dont think I've ever logged into mumsnet elsewhere.
Cant imagine that anyone would guess my passwords.

I'm still logged out every time I close browser, and every time I'm away from keyboard from minutes.

For minutes, not from!

We think it's a security thing, which tech actually says is good, however we can appreciate it's a tad annoying.
Tech might be a bit slow on the response over the BH weekend because he's been untied from his desk not in the office, but we'll drop him a line and nudge him in your direction.

Have closed tab and it still works, will try closing whole browser later when I'm not playing Bloons working
