If you (still) feel the need to discuss Moldies [part 2]

This thread is a continuation of this one. That one had become too big for its own boots the system to handle.

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 03/01/2009 00:06

Haven't most people decided that MN's all the better for Moldies existence anyway?

And DaddyJ, I'm still interested why you think I'm like Nestle. I haven't knowingly killed any babies in the Third World recently, for instance.

Aitch, good summation. I think a lot of Moldies just wanted some time to think things through - a bit of a breather. I felt like Alice after she'd fallen down the rabbit hole and discovered a new land and suddenly OBM's there going "Drink me, eat me, follow the White Rabbit, OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!" and all I wanted to do was put my apron straight, adjust my Alice band and work out where Dinah had got to.

IorekByrnison · 03/01/2009 00:07

I think I see aitch. So there were polls initially, then these were replaced by nominations which were accepted or rejected by a secret panel. And now all doors are currently closed until a new system can be agreed upon.

Maybe all members should be allowed to invite a friend on their birthday, say? That would be fair and avoid both unpleasantness and population explosion, no?

Quattrocento · 03/01/2009 00:08

Thanks for doing that Aitch.

And sorry Daddy - was trying to be positive about the existence of moldies

DaddyJ · 03/01/2009 00:08

ok hunker

for time being let the people who got hurt talk

Aitch · 03/01/2009 00:09

WHAT, iorek? like the BIRTHDAY TABLE??!!

ClausImWorthIt · 03/01/2009 00:09

I'm not sure I have decided that MN is better for the existence of Moldies, actually.

I have, though, accepted that it is a reality and isn't likely to change.

TheFallenMadonna · 03/01/2009 00:09

No, I'm not sure most people have decided that Hunker. Although some people have said it often...

DaddyJ · 03/01/2009 00:10

sorry, quattro, I get you now

ClausImWorthIt · 03/01/2009 00:11

Because those who have said it tend to be those who have also said 'good riddance to ...', and I'm not one of those.

I miss those who no longer post here, whether I knew them or not.

hunkermunker · 03/01/2009 00:11

That's the problem, I guess, TFM and Claus - you see something said enough and you start to believe it's the opinion of most! Sorry.

DaddyJ, I'm hurt by your Nestle allegation fgs!

controlfreakyhohohohohohoho · 03/01/2009 00:13

oh you'll get over it....

Quattrocento · 03/01/2009 00:14

Enough of the handwringing and feeling left out - lots of moldies still post on MN - most of the good eggs still here - very few have actually announced that they are deregging - they are just different types of fora

MarshaBrady · 03/01/2009 00:14

I hope there isn't a continual drip drip of people being invited and then leaving mn to go to moldies. Names would just disappear after another round of invites, be a bit bleak.

ruty · 03/01/2009 00:14

hunkr i think that's unfair. the majority of Mners have said they have missed certain posters and now feel hurt they reaise they have been elsewhere. Theu have also said Moldies shouldn't leave here. Only a few have said 'Oh you Moldies bugger off'

Aitch · 03/01/2009 00:15

amen, quattro.

IorekByrnison · 03/01/2009 00:15

What's the birthday table, aitch? Have I said something bad??

ruty · 03/01/2009 00:15

x-posted..

ClausImWorthIt · 03/01/2009 00:16

Who was that aimed at, Quattro?

Aitch · 03/01/2009 00:16

really, ruty? i've felt like that's been a loud and clear message on these threads tbh. although not tonight, i'm relieved to say. i suppose it comes back to perspective again, doesnt' it?

snice · 03/01/2009 00:17

Iorek - I would put the lid back on that can of worms!

Aitch · 03/01/2009 00:19

it was a thread boco posted once, iorek, you were deffo around then i'm sure. about a birthday table at her wee girl's school that was arranged in such a way that one girl child would be left alone to eat her packed lunch while watching the other three girls in the class feast at a birthday table. (it has no relationship whatsoever to moldies before someone tries to crowbar that in ).

DaddyJ · 03/01/2009 00:19

piss off with your 'hurt' already
I don't do empathy, OK?!

munching on my Cheerios, can't type

hunkermunker · 03/01/2009 00:21

Thanks, Controlfreaky - you're right, I will.

DaddyJ, I don't think you ever had a point

Ruty, sorry again.

snice · 03/01/2009 00:21

Somebdy did try to stir it up with Boco though didn't they? Very unfair IMO

ruty · 03/01/2009 00:22

think Fallen Madonna said a few said it often but not the majority view Aitch.
