I was able to navigate to specific boards but if I click on the "Active" button to see recent threads or the "I'm On" button the links are broken and I get this (see image)

We think some browsers cached a redirect they shouldn’t have. Once that’s stuck, it can cause the kind of issues you’re describing.

The good news is that clearing the cache just for Mumsnet should fix it. Quick steps below:

Chrome

  • Go to mumsnet.com
  • Click the padlock icon next to the URL
  • Click “Site settings” → “Clear data”

(If you don’t see that option, Chrome sometimes only allows clearing all browsing data: Menu (⋮) → Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data.)

Safari (iPhone/iPad)

  • Go to Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
  • Search for mumsnet
  • Swipe left and delete

Safari (Mac)

  • Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Search for mumsnet and remove it

It’s a bit fiddly, but it should fix this problem Let us know if you have further problems.

What about Samsung Internet on an android phone?

Finally got mine to work but had to clear the last 7 days worth for it to work. As a result I've lost some tabs i had open so I could cole back to them and been signed out of loads. Like a PP said we shouldn't be having everything affected like that.

I can’t post a thread at all, I get this

I've deleted cache but it still doesn't work on Chrome in Android. An incognito window works fine however so perhaps the browser isn't actually deleting all the cache? It signed me out so it definitely did something. Is anyone else still having problems?

Mumsnet seemed to have stopped responding. No updates on the issue, no reasons given.

Yes, I've given up - my default was always to browse from Active and I can't access that page anymore so I'm actually hoping this cures my MN habit!

Me too!

KellyMumsnet · 27/04/2026 10:47

Sorry to hear some of you are still having problems with this. It definitely is a browser issue (it's causing a redirect away from Active) so might be worth clearing cache again.

You could try a different browser - which wouldn't have the cached redirect - and that should also work. Or try it in incognito which should work too, but you then wouldn't be signed in. If incognito is working ok that's a definite sign that your cache wasn't cleared properly so worth trying again with that.

JeopardyLeopardy · 27/04/2026 16:14

I won't be clearing my cache, I've done that on previous MN advice and it deleted absolutely everything and made my life much harder. I don't have the option to only clear it for MN. I have 1317 tabs open, I'm not someone who takes deleting lightly!

There's no other site I use which has such frequent tech issues. I'm not sure I've ever noticed tech issues anywhere else actually. Presumably they are resolved without affecting users.

murasaki · 27/04/2026 16:26

I'm wondering if they can fix it and riding it out is the answer. Someone clearly pressed something they shouldn't have done, can they not back track and undo it?
