I was able to navigate to specific boards but if I click on the "Active" button to see recent threads or the "I'm On" button the links are broken and I get this (see image)

Hi all

Can you please try clearing your cache? There was an issue with browser cache earlier so it's very likely that the issue will be resolved once this has been done.

Active still doesn't work for me

OriginalSkang · 23/04/2026 22:38

Yes, Active still not working but I'm On seems to be okay

Upstartled · 24/04/2026 06:44

Cleared the cache and it's no dice for me, my 'I'm watching' is fine though.

BIWI · 24/04/2026 08:19

What's going on @LilyMumsnet?! Active still isn't working.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 24/04/2026 10:10

Active tab not working for me on Safari, iphone. Broken all day yesterday too.

Happening again.

AlignStars · 24/04/2026 12:37

Clearing cache worked for me (Safari desktop).

TheSandgroper · 24/04/2026 13:26

So, if I can’t see anything but the Oops page, how do I clear my cache of notifications? I am assuming that’s what you are talking about. I don’t use the app, I just sign in.

Please explain it to me in basic terms.

Thanks in advance.

Boquets · 24/04/2026 13:40

I have cleared the cache as suggested and now many passwords and log ins for my usual sites (Facebook, investments, banks) are not working without resetting.

Really not good enough @LilyMumsnet - MN failings should not impact on our personal affairs.

LovesLabradors · 24/04/2026 15:18

@LilyMumsnet FYI - I have cleared cookies/cache and it is working OK for me on Safari now, but not Chrome.

@Boquets For the future, you can clear the cache for an individual website, you didn't need to delete your entire cache.

Oneofthepotters · 24/04/2026 16:07

Not working for me either

Yes, thanks. I followed the instructions but this is the result - not every password though, just some.

JohnTheRevelator · 24/04/2026 17:20

The only one that doesn't work for me a lot of the time is the 'edit' button. So annoying.

Tryagain26 · 24/04/2026 18:11

The active tab isn't working for me either. I can see watching but I get the error message if I click on active.
I have cleared all my cache but it's still the same

Piknik · 24/04/2026 20:11

Cleared cache (and annoyingly lost passwords) and still not working for me either. Neither 'I'm on' or 'Active'.

Am on a Macbook using a chrome browser. Safari also not working.

AnAngelOnTheWallsOfVersailles · 25/04/2026 07:03

Active isn't working for me (Samsung browser on android phone), hasn't for a couple of days now. No difference when I cleared my cache.

Piknik · 25/04/2026 12:20

Is something happening with this @LilyMumsnet ? I can't find any of the threads that I am on and it's making MN unworkable for me at the moment. I am not a 'browser' - I start and contribute to a number of threads that I get quite invested in. It's a real pain to have to try to remember what board they were on and trawl through until I find them again.

And then - I have to do it all again. It really needs fixing.

FeelingALittleWoozyHere · 25/04/2026 12:24

This is happening for me on the 'watching' button

I'm getting this for active and for notifications for the last 2 days now. It's really annoying!

JeopardyLeopardy · 25/04/2026 16:29

I don't want to clear my cache, it's useful!

murasaki · 25/04/2026 16:34

I can't access AIBU at all. I've tried going through the talk menu, via going to an active thread and then clicking the header nada, zilch.

Any updates?

BeckyAMumsnet · 25/04/2026 16:37

We think some browsers cached a redirect they shouldn’t have. Once that’s stuck, it can cause the kind of issues you’re describing.

The good news is that clearing the cache just for Mumsnet should fix it. Quick steps below:

Chrome

  • Go to mumsnet.com
  • Click the padlock icon next to the URL
  • Click “Site settings” → “Clear data”

(If you don’t see that option, Chrome sometimes only allows clearing all browsing data: Menu (⋮) → Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data.)

Safari (iPhone/iPad)

  • Go to Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
  • Search for mumsnet
  • Swipe left and delete

Safari (Mac)

  • Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Search for mumsnet and remove it

It’s a bit fiddly, but it should fix this problem Let us know if you have further problems.

BIWI · 25/04/2026 17:20

What about other browsers @BeckyAMumsnet?

murasaki · 25/04/2026 17:28

I don't get a padlock next to the url on chrome on android, and I previously deleted my browsing history and cache and it didn't work....

BeckyAMumsnet · 25/04/2026 17:31

Which browser, @BIWI?

@murasaki thank you, that’s really helpful to know. A couple of things that are worth trying on Chrome mobile:

Open Mumsnet in an incognito tab - if it works there, it does point to cached data being the cause

Force refresh the page by holding down the refresh icon

If you’re happy to try it, clearing cookies/site data as well as cache (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → make sure “Cookies and site data” is ticked) can sometimes shift it where cache alone doesn’t.
