FWR being trolled by a user called AidaP

Hedgehogforshort · 08/04/2026 20:35

Hi MNHQ can you please address the issue of a certain poster called AidaP who is not participating in debate he is just trolling.

to be clear this person is a trans woman who has been convicted of violence and is posting promotion of acts of violence against women elsewhere.

in particular there is one elsewhere about using a roughly hewn rolling pin to rape women.

you realy need to look in to him it is just so not on that he is being allowed to bother us here.

@BeckyAMumsnet Why can’t we at least be given the option to hide certain posters ourselves? I want to use FWR, but I want to be able to do so without being forced to read comments by posters like AidaP.

What ive gone from is "the whole trans thing is dangerous and they are insane", to "the insanity is on both sides and the trans people arent the most dangerous group out of the 2 of them".

So let's get this straight.

A TRA posts that women who disagree that TWAW should be "fucked with a splintery rolling pin".

Women disagree and say that's basically a rape threat. A rhetorical raoe threat perhaps, but still a rapre threat with all the misogyny that entails.

You from this conclude that the TRAs are less dangerous than the women.

Right. Sure you did.

Women arent inherently vulnerable beings who need safeguarding. I get that you want women to be seen that way, most women do not. We want to be viewed as people with full capacity and the ability to choose things for ourselves. We don't want it to be easier for authority figures to remove our choice on the basis that we are vulnerable and need protection.

I get that some women have been raised to embrace that role - the fragile feminine. Many of us reject it though.

Do you think 2 women a week are murdered by their male partners because they just don't understand they could fight back?

It's such an unoriginal take too...we've had posters say similar many many times (and years) before now. I didn't believe them and I don't believe this either. Not least as the premise is demonstrably untrue!

Exactly. I tried really really hard to fight back against my rapist. I was simply not strong enough.

ThatCyanCat · 10/04/2026 10:39

It is worth remembering that there exists a type of man who does think that, by virtue of being born male, he is automatically more logical and rational and dispassionate than women. There is of course a massive irony in this being a totally illogical belief, and this irony hits the stratosphere when said man also claims that a woman is an unknowable concept.

They often take on a rather imperious tone to suggest they have been totally fair and rational, but women have not and as such have punished themselves by driving away all the critical, careful thinkers with their silliness and dishonesty.

And then they tell you women aren't vulnerable and can have knobs.

There are many inconsistencies and incoherencies in some of the posts we are seeing.

I believe so.

The argument really is like those academics who declare that female athletes don't need segregated sports, they just need to train harder and maybe have different equipment.

This is part of that same falsely premised 'strict equality' perspective.

(Note: as if female people having access to performance enhancing equipment that is not also available to male athletes isn't direct discrimination and would be considered as illegitimate in terms of policies around performance enhancement???).

Yeah it's a colloqualism. A way to emphasise that you really think that thing should fuck off.

It’s not a bloody colloquialism. I have never ever heard it from anyone other than this aggressive TRA. If anyone used this so called colloquialism in my workplace they would be sacked immediately. Idiotic argument.

Just so you all know, if I come back to more than 10 notifications (bear in mind I only get one when quoted), i press mark as read and ignore them all. I just came back to 20

lifeinthelastlane · 10/04/2026 11:27

No problem, I'm sure it's a lot to take on.

The arguments against your posts remain pertinent and are worth making in their own right whether you reply or not, so please don't feel obliged.

I don't. Just explaining why you won't get a response unless they are repeated to me at a time where I am not spammed by notifications.

Not arguments. I just hate how the notifications work here so there is no way I am replying to 20 of them. They should remain highlighted unless you address them, not disappear because you've replied to one on that thread.

Whatever we disagree on, we can definitely all agree MN's notifications and search tools are less than optimal!

That's literally why I'm just not doing it. It's way too clunky.
