Nope

BecauseImWorthIt · 12/06/2008 23:41

I'm not an old timer, have been here since Oct 06, but I can't bear pages. Breaks things up too much.

I am old though!

Old timer in a lurker sense if not in a poster sense but always read bottom to top (newest post the one you see when you open)

To be fair only tried pages for about 5 minutes but I didn't like it.

serenity · 13/06/2008 01:02

Good grief no, tried it and it drove me mad (despite every other forum I use doing it that way) I have it 'original' ta very much.

suzywong · 13/06/2008 01:23

what Hoochie said

MrsJohnCusack · 13/06/2008 01:24

god no
it'd take even longer to trawl through mumsnet waiting for every page to load on my cruddy broadband

loss - at the top - along the line that says active convos there's an option to customise the talk baord. get yourself thence with haste.

katierocket · 13/06/2008 13:26

NO, I did briefly but it just annoyed me. bottom to top is the best.

katierocket · 13/06/2008 13:27

dilbertina - RL is overrated.

princessmel · 13/06/2008 13:29

No I haven't changed. Bottom to top.

DonDons · 13/06/2008 13:32

definately better the old way but you would never hear me championing change

themoon66 · 13/06/2008 13:33

Read from the bottom up.

brimfull · 13/06/2008 13:34

old way here

life is confusing enough

nickytwotimes · 13/06/2008 13:35

Don't thin kI'd count as an old-timer (been here about 16 mths) but to have the threads any other way than scrolling from most recent down is just wrong.

WenchConnection · 13/06/2008 13:37

Crying with laughter Quattro, that was genius.

I use mumsnet classic, and read from bottom to top due to habit, but it's so much easier to 'flip'?

SlightlyMadSweet · 13/06/2008 13:39

I do still have 1 big long thread (i.e. no pages) but I do now have oldest post first so I can read top to bottom.

It is a bit annoying when I revist threads which I have red half of as I would like to see the bit I havn't read first IYSWIM.

It is also annoying when someone says "soandso said xyz below" when it is actually above for me.

BUt on balance I prefer top to bottom cos that is just sensible.....you don't find the Mail writing their articles bottom t top do you????

BouncingTurtle · 13/06/2008 13:40

I prefer the old style, reading bottom to top.
How long do you need to be a member to be classed as an old timer?

Klaw · 13/06/2008 13:40

I need to have pages cos otherwise the whole lot takes FOREVER to load on my system.

My pages come up with most recent post at the top

WenchConnection · 13/06/2008 13:41

I suspect they use pages for some kind of money saving reason, less trouble for their servers?

fullmoonfiend · 13/06/2008 13:43

old-fogey style here too!
