Have any old timers swopped from scrolling the whole lot from top to bottom to PAGES?

no i have classic..when people talk about npages is the only time i recall there there was that awful changeover

DonDons · 13/06/2008 13:48

SMS "It is a bit annoying when I revist threads which I have red half of as I would like to see the bit I havn't read first IYSWIM."

Click on 'watch this thread' then go to 'threads I'm watching' when you want to revisit a thread. This will take you back to the point you have read up to before...

(took me 18 months to find this )

Tinker · 13/06/2008 13:49

No

DarrellRivers · 13/06/2008 13:50

mumsnet classic all the way
God, the pages debacle still gives me nightmares

woodenchair · 13/06/2008 13:50

Thank god for this thread. I've hated pages since for ages, didn't know you could get rid of them. I've even resorted to logging out to get rid of them. Didn't know there was an option

SlightlyMadSweet · 13/06/2008 13:53

Yeah but then "threads I'm wacthing" would get like my email inbox....1000+ threads/messages

DonDons · 13/06/2008 13:57

fair point!

Iota · 13/06/2008 13:59

I persisted with pages for weeks - not wishing to seem inflexible and unable to move with the times, but I was really irritated by fast moving threads - if you read them from newest first the pages would keep re-paginating and post would move page and it was very confusing.

At last I admitted defeat and reverted. It is soooooooo much better scrolling up and down

prettybird · 13/06/2008 14:03

I've never used Pages - always hated thme when I cam e across them on other web sites and changed immediately to "Mumsnet Classic" - most recent first.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/06/2008 14:18

No way. Bottom to top all in one go, the way I've always had it.

Amapoleon · 13/06/2008 14:21

No I am set in my ways! If it's long I flip it.

LazyLinePainterJane · 13/06/2008 14:38

All on one page here, top to bottom.

DrNortherner · 13/06/2008 14:40

Bottom to top for me all on one page.

Anyting else is just wrong

One long thread here too - BLOSS - go to 'customise talk board' in the menu at the top.

Can't cope with pages! But I have got it so that oldest post is at the top, because it is easier to read that way!

nannynick · 15/06/2008 18:15

I use classic... even when viewing on a mobile phone. Actually I think it's the better option for mobile users, as you download the entire page, then can read it at your leisure without any further data requests. Now if only there was a Mobile specific version of Mumsnet to make reading threads even easier.

nannynick · 15/06/2008 18:20

Just to add, have found a way of viewing Mumsnet on a Mobile, which seems a bit better - make sure you are in Mumsnet Classic mode, then to view pages, start with:
www.google.com/gwt/n
Enter www.mumsnet.com/Talk
and enjoy using Mumsnet on your Mobile.

BlueDragonfly · 15/06/2008 18:21

bottom to top here, in fact the only thing i changed was that i hide threads/topics now!

NomDePlume · 15/06/2008 18:22

no, I hate the page format

piratecat · 15/06/2008 18:24

i am a scroller, bottom up.
the numbered pages thing confused me.

I have only been here 17months.

ladytophamhatt · 15/06/2008 18:28

if it ain't broke...etc etc etc.

Hate pages and all teh new fangled stuff

ConfusedMover · 15/06/2008 18:37

Don't like the page format, can never find my way to the first page

LadyMuck · 15/06/2008 18:40

I thought that the pages things was for those still condemned to dial up (images of MNers on Outer Hebrides etc). Mind you in general the old timers have never been entirely enthusiastic about change!
